Consider yourself special, Lee -- not that you weren't already, that is. I checked several stores here today as I ran errands, including WalMart -- no S4 DVDs here to be found, although WalMart at least had the placeholder on the shelf where they will be going. I'll probably check there later today to see if they couldn't stand the empty spot on the shelf and went ahead and filled it with S4 DVDs, but as it stands, your WalMart apparently is the only ones who can't read a calendar, so lucky you. Yep, that's Alabama - morons who can't read a calendar! Since it worked out in my favor, I'm cool with the fact that my Wal-Mart is apparently run by monkeys. In my excitement, I never stopped to consider whether it was a pirated copy but I don't think it is. All the discs are in perfect condition. Now Alabama may be slow when it comes to desegregation and hell, even education, but when it comes to Buffy - we're quick on the draw! Ain't nuthin' stoppin' us from gettin' our Buffy!

I don't know of any reason WalMart would be selling pirated copies. Most of the stores (not just WalMarts, but everybody) should be getting their shipments of DVDs for Tuesday right about now. They always ship somewhat early to ensure the stores have them on the shelves in time for Tuesday (midnight Monday in some cases). But they're supposed to keep them in storage until Tuesday. From what the guys in one store told me, they can be fined heavily for pre-releasing before the agreed date. However, if you've got a buddy who manages a Blockbuster, Suncoast, etc., that's willing to sell you one early, go for it. I'm guessing WalMarts aren't always the best at checking those "don't release before" dates. I bought my mother an Elvis CD set for her birthday at K-Mart almost a month before it's official release date.

I will truly miss this board. The new one is bright and shiny, loaded with options and has that new car appeal, but this board was really good to us. And to their credit and our everlasting gratitude the PTB's here let us rebel forces pretty much claim the Misc. board and wreak our twisted will.
I've had the opportunity to meet some wonderful, intelligent witty and caring people here. I got to start writing fic here, with much appreciated support and encouragement. And I got to cheer on other posters efforts.
This is a copy of what I just posted on Scoopme. Just felt like I had to say something.
I feel very much like we're putting an old an faithful horse out to pasture in favor of a young, new stallion. That's sad, but we have no choice. But we are taking the best parts with us.
Thanks all you guys who were here from the beginning. Thanks eveybody who joined us and respected the spirit of our group. I hope we're all able to make a good transition to the new board. As for the old: Call me sentimental, but I'll miss you.

OK, must go to a boring firm meeting now. Do you think they would notice if I played with the board on my laptop during the meeting? Hmmm.... I'm sure everyone else will be having loads of fun while I get to go over medical malpractice cases. Nothing better to get your afternoon to a great start than listening to a med mal summary. See you guys later.

But always realize that it isn't the software that makes a posting board special, it's the people -- and all the people that made ScoopMe special for me are also making this board special as well. The heart of ScoopMe will live on here. Like you said, Rusty, we're bring the best of ScoopMe with us as we go.

The last "official" track on the CD End Game runs for 12:56 minutes, but the song itself ends after about 5:00 minutes. Then there's nothing but silence for a good 7:00 minutes, and suddenly a voice -- I'm pretty sure it's JM -- says: "A lie is like a cheap bottle of wine from a cheap liquor store. It don't cost much at the time, but it burns as it goes down. And you know you're gonna pay -- later you say, 'Now it's okay.' But as hard as you swallow, you can't shake the taste. The acid, the afterthought churning in your belly. The buzz becomes a fly in your brain, and you feel great the next day then it leaves you with nothing but regret." Laura When I was looking at the CD yestderday I saw Hidden Track plainly listed but I din't play it 'cause I didn't see JM listed in the credits. I will play it all the way through tonight though. I played the song that he is listed on but could not distinguish his voice. Maybe I'd be able to with head phones but I couldn't with just the boombox playing. Thanks for the tip.

If you've checked out my S'cubie profile, then you might have noticed that one of my cats, Arnie, had tested positive for feline leukemia but had stayed in good health for four years. Unfortunately, in the past months the disease manifested and I had to have him put to sleep this morning. He was a sweet, unassuming stray who was always on his best behavior as if he feared we'd kick him out if he presumed too much. I'm sorry if this isn't the appropriate forum for this kind of news but his life and death deserve to be remarked. So sorry Becky. Pets are precious, and Arnie sounds especially so. Be good to yourself today - you did right by sharing - it helps! Indulge in a few tears and maybe some favorite treat or activity . . . it hurts to lose a long-time pet.

I'm sorry if this isn't the appropriate forum for this kind of news but his life and death deserve to be remarked. Becky, your experience is similar to mine with my cat Peter. Like Arnie, he was probably born with the disease but he survived to age 10 before it manifested and he was gone very quickly once that happened. He was the boss cat of my household and sternly reprimanded subordinate cat Michael, who was three times his size, anytime Michael asked permission to defend the home territory against an interloper and went off and admonished the interloper himself in the proper manner of a boss cat. I loved him dearly. He's the bravest cat I've ever known, for all that he was neutered when we first became acquainted. He took his responsibilities as boss cat very seriously and looked out for all the others, even Gwenner, who was never anything but nasty to him.
I felt then and still feel that he had a good long life and was respected and loved nearly all of it, and knew very little illness until the end, which came quickly. So from me and my dear cat Peter, a heartfelt Hail and Farewell to you and your dear cat Arnie, may he happily chase mice in catheaven, which we all know exists, forever and greet you with tail held high when it comes time that you're allowed to visit him there.[/color]

I'm sorry if this isn't the appropriate forum for this kind of news but his life and death deserve to be remarked. Becky, I am so very sorry for your loss. I'm sorry that you had say goodbye to your beloved pet and sorry that you had to make the difficult decision to put him to sleep. (Perhaps that's presumption on my part, but I know that it was incredibly difficult for me the two times I made that decision.) But take comfort in knowing that you gave him a secure, safe, and happy life. In the last three years I've had to say goodbye to three beloved cats whose loss I mourned as deeply as I could mourn for any human. If that sentiment seems insensative to some who know the grief of losing a human loved one then I apologize. I am only speaking from my personal experience. I have no husband, no children and am fortuanate enough to have my immediate family still intact (knock wood). Except for my cats who I feel were also close members of my family. A cabinet in my living room holds the wooden urns containing their cremains. The urns are faced with their photos and topped with the sleeping kitty angels I fashioned for them. Their favorite toys are placed next to them. Last year, when I lost my kitten Oscar and was looking for inspiration in choosing what few words to engrave on the plaque of his urn I discovered a number of websites about pet loss. Some had selections of beautiful poetry and many provide people with the opportunity to post tributes to their pets, in case the idea appeals to you. I found it helpful last year to read what others had written about their losses and to write my own tribute as well, it was kind of cathartic. Although, perhaps because of the circumstances of his death, it was a long time before I was no longer preoccupied with his death and I still feel kind of empty and drained where all my *cat love* used to be. Four Paws In Heaven is the site where I posted a tribute to Oscar. (Unfortunately I don't have the capability to post a photo with his tribute, as many other people do.) Here are the links to my tribute to Oscar as well as to the main page: www.fourpawsinheaven.com/il-oscar.htmlwww.fourpawsinheaven.com

OK, FX airs repeats of season 1-6 of Buffy every night. We all know that. FX was not able to get season 6 until UPN had shown all the episodes in repeats.
Does that still apply for season 7? There will be no season 8 so UPN doesn't really have an incentive to re-run the season 7 episodes (except for in the summer and they keep pushing them back). So....will FX not be able to get season 7 until UPN has reaired all the episodes? Or does it work a little differently now that the series is completely over? Does anyone know?
