I laughed for five minutes when Willow called herself "Cletus The Slack-Jawed Yokel." In fact, I still laugh whenever I hear it.

The Season 4 DVD was waiting for me when I got home. You all who preordered and are waiting are going to be mad - but I didn't "pre-order" it until last Thurs. Maybe waiting until the last minute helps it come quicker? Doesn't put you on a long list with others who have pre-ordered, because the list has been closed or something? I don't know. But it's here. I hardly got a chance to see any of it, but I did find the "Spike, Me" interview with James and watched it. He looks very thin in the interview, like he filmed it during Season Six. He's in his Spike get up, which makes it extra strange to hear him talking and smiling and being James. He looked good, of course, so much so that I can't remember a word he said. I always have to watch James a couple of times before the words start to sink in. I watched the Spike interview, and unlike Spring I was actually able to hear the words. It is probably one of the best supplementary produced videos that accompanies the DVDs, the other being the one they did on Oz, also in S4. In both cases, they interview Joss and the actor as well as significant others in the character's development, taking it all the way back to when the actor tried out for the role, transitional moments in the character's development, and lots of interesting asides. It's entirely possible that the Spike fans here who thought they knew everything there was to know about the character and the actor who plays him might just learn a bit more. Very well put together. Two thumbs up!

I noticed in Part 6 that you suggested I invite James to our non-reunion. I'm really not supposed to contact him, but I'll take a chance. What do you think? James: Please join the members of The Soulful Spike Society for our non-reunion party on [night before the event] at [my room]. Check out our website at www.scubiefan.com to learn all about us. Events will include Buffy-episode-title-charades, and scene re-enactments (be prepared to do your exercise scene from "Gone'). See you there! Spring Summers---------------------------------- RSVP as many times as you like by calling me anytime, day or night: [my home phone number, my work number, my cell phone]. BYOB (Bring Your Own Bod) What do I think? I think I made a serious error in having you send the invitation, that's what I think! Just...don't use him up!

A couple more where that came from: 1. The Buffinator 2. Duchess Of Buffonia I've always loved number 2. Or for you, how about "a nummy treat?" You know, moist and delicious? I don't suppose you wanna go with "King of The Big Exits" . . . .

Had some inspiration due to all the post in the last thread. (Vlad if you want to use this on the front page of the website you can). I used the same background color you have on the site so it will (should) blend real nicely. You can copy it from here or if you want I can send it in an email to you if you want to use it. Here is it so you all can view.

Is "Buffy" for-short for some other name? Or is her actual name "Buffy"?
On another topic, today I got to describe bra-less SITs in wet T-shirts in a rainstorm as displaying "full frontal chestitude." Sometimes, I just break myself up.....

BYOB (Bring Your Own Bod) You remind me of a condom ad on the radio, where they compare sex without their brand of condom ("Thanks. I'll call you sometime" spoken in a girl's voice) to sex with their condom ("Here's my phone number, pager number, cell, fax, GPS tracking coordinates, and take this carrier pigeon, just in case ...."). For some reason in that last graph, I wouldn't have been surprised if you mentioned a carrier pigeon.

Betsy, that's a premise I'm using in EME...and also used, after a fashion, in Old Blood, to the degree that Slayer blood is the most effective of all when it comes to the need for extreme healing in vampires. Per the series, Sire's blood is also effective in healing, but in a sacrificial, ritual way (per Dru and Angel) rather than ingested directly.
It makes perfect sense to me and if SPike ever needs a pick me up, I'm first in line to volunteer (got the head tilt perfected) ;D

Another one for Rob -- King of Cretins, from the S1 ep Witch, when Xander says -- "For I am Xander, King of Cretins. May all lesser cretins kneel before me." I probably didn't have to explain where the quote came from, but I've already had one instance where folks here didn't recognize one of my pop-culture references and demanded my head on a silver platter, and once is more than enough for me!

Buffy is her name. Gravestones traditionally carry the person's proper name, although they do sometimes carry a nickname in quotes. Jenny Calendar's gravestone read "Jennifer Calendar" (not Janna Kalderdash, by the way, which was really her name), and Buffy's read Buffy Anne Summers.

Typos better be legal, as I commit so many of them. But given you're the prezzie and all, I didn't want the typo immortalized in some way you'd be unable to change afterward. Help intended, not criticism.

Short post-by. (Like a drive by.) Still keeping up on the reading, but that leaves no time for posting.
There was some discussion about the middle of part 6 about whether UPN is finally going to show "Lessons" tomorrow night and the answer is: NO.
The UPN website lists "the next Buffy" as scheduled for June 17 and it will be ....... SHOWTIME!
So, clearly they've figured out that they can't repeat the entire season in less than 3 months and so are picking up where previous repeats (in March/April) left off.
Weirdly, they offer a video preview which turns out to be Lessons, but I'm sure that's just error on site updating.
Sorry.
I'll check back in the morning. I am trying to keep notes on replies to make. You all have been very entertaining!
