But isn't that the Spike Channel? It isn't? It's a channel for guys? I'm so disappointed What, women can't watch a channel for guys? Is there a rule now? Next you'll tell me I have to stop watching Lifetime. And I do so like those battered-wife-of-the-week movies they show.

My pic looks so much better now. Thank you for your help. Unfortunately I'll be posting less because I stop and stare at it for at least 3 minutes right after I send anything out.

As long as continue to post glowing reviews about Triangles you can delay as long as you like. Thanks so much for the kind words.
Work is in progress on Chapters 18 and 19. I'll send them over as soon as I don't think they suck.
That could take a while. ;D

Obviously we need a music recommendation section.
Just a short mention that at the end of the Chicago soundtrack CD Queen Latifa has two great cuts. A rap version of "He Had It Coming" and "Chicago". Worth passing up most of the other stuff on the CD. Except for the 20's jazz Sax. (A weakness of mine.)

20 Favorite Rock&Roll Songs (not my only favorites, but twenty OF my favorites):4. KILLER QUEEN - think it's by Queen, but I'm not sure. Love it. Puts me in mind of "Kali" in LORD OF LIGHT. Every time. 14. STAND IN THE PLACE WHERE YOU WERE - don't know if that's the right title, and I can never remember whether it's by REO or REM, but I like it. 17. THEY COME TO AMERICA - by Neil Diamond; please correct me if I have the title wrong "Killer Queen" is an early Queen song, yes. "Stand" is by REM, not REO Speedwagon. And the title is simply "Stand" "America" is the title of the Neil Diamond song you're thinking of, from The Jazz Singer soundtrack if I'm not mistaken, Neil's remake of the Al Jolsen classic. Many moons ago, I used to work as a deejay spinning records at an AFRTS outlet in Italy. So I got to know a lot of the music -- especially classic rock, which was my turf -- quite well.

Rob - I could not help but notice that at the end of your latest chapter, the gang is heading to your part of the country. Let me guess . . . is Buffy going to dump Spike for a new, more human type guy, with the initials RS??

I sure hope Spike isn't evil next season. Wicked, snarky and a thorn in Angel's side, yes; but please, no more evil Spike!
Gail While speculations like this are probably better placed over on the Spoilers line (in the event any of them might come true, we don't need someone thinking we spoiled them), but I would like to note one thing ..... If Spike and Angel are on opposite sides, that won't make Spike evil. Who is it that just signed a contract to work for Wolfram & Hart? Hmmm?

People, if you want a really engrossing, intricate story with a lot of fun thrown in, read Triangles!

Wow. My music post sure generated a ton of interest. Most importantly it has opened my mind to a world of interesting things that I've never listened to. While I tried to read everyone's selections as best I could, I shall add a few more that slipped my mind last night: Miles Davis-Porgy And Bess, Miles Ahead Duke Ellington-Live Newport 1956 Sly and the Family Stone-There's A Riot Goin' On Vladamir Horowitz-Horowitz In Moscow Vince Guaraldi-A Charlie Brown Christmas (don't laugh) Weather Report-Heavy Weather Dire Straits-Brothers In Arms Santana-Abraxas The Doors-self titled Isaac Hayes-Shaft soundtrack James Brown-Star Time (box set) Pink Floyd-Dark Side Of The Moon Men At Work-Business As Usual Earth, Wind and Fire-Gratitude Moby-Play Buena Vista Social Club--self titled James, I hope you read this. I, too, enjoy early hip-hop. There was never an entire album that I completely loved, so I didn't list one, though Lauryn Hill certainly mixes it up on her solo album, which I did list. Anyway, hip-hip tracks I love: Tennessee-Arrested Development (My opinion? Best hip hop track EVER) It Takes Two-Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock Bust a Move-Young MC Straight Outta Compton-NWA Ice T-You Played Yourself The Humpty Dance-Digital Underground Set Adrift On Memory Bliss-PM Dawn Jump Around-House Of Pain O.P.P-Naughty By Nature What's My Name?-Snoop Dogg One big one that I haven't seen mentioned... If you ever get a chance to spend some...errr....extra special quality time with someone you love, slide Ravel's "Bolero" into your CD player at the proper moment. Like you, Rob, I enjoy some rap and hip-hop tracks as well, but have yet to hear an album I would qualify as a just-push-play. Run-DMC always blew me away, from the first time I ever heard "King of Rock". Salt-N'Peppa was another who, at least everything they released for airplay, was good stuff. Hammer was excellent when he dropped the MC and started getting more creative with his background music, instead of the obvious samples -- 2 Legit 2 Quit was a great song. And I also always loved the Beastie Boys for their sense of self-jest; No Sleep Til Brooklin was a classic.

Patti and Rob, your avatar pictures (IDs by posts) look ever so much better--larger and clearer. Don't know what you did, but the difference is remarkable.
James, last time I saw your picture, it was a VERY distorted Mr. Trick, and I never saw the other one, the Maya Angelou (have I got her right?) at all. So something odd is going on there.
And I notice that sweet Vlad DID change my status to Cousin Fabulator. *I* know that that means, and if it mystifies someone, that will only add to my air of seductive mysteryl [/color]

Man I HATE that channel! Worst drivel I've ever seen! SNL did a hilarious spoof of a Lifetime abused-wife movie. This woman was complaining about how her husband was constantly invading her personal space -- she didn't even like it that he was there in the same bed with her -- so her sympathetic friend convinced her to take him to court over it. The courts just laughed, saying that she had no grounds to stand on, but became indignant when she asked how they might react if she were invading his personal space -- "That's different. He's a man!" They were making it out to be such a female nightmare. Then in the end, they interviewed the woman who supposedly went through the events in real life -- seems her husband merely had a wax buildup that made it hard for him to hear her, so he leaned in a little; also, she said she's never lived in Vancouver, so why on earth was the movie set there, and she never took her husband to court for invading her personal space. And even still, the interviewer was all sympathetic over the nightmare she endured, having her husband invade her personal space like that. I thought it was a hillarious spoof of all those Lifetime movies. Like you said, they can be such pathetic drivel. Watch Lifetime long enough, and you'll be convinced every woman in America is battered, and every man in America is an abusive jerk.
