I totally agree with you about Spike and Angel. I also think that Angel's rather negative relationship with his father helped to make him as vicious as he was. After he was turned, Angel made a point of telling his father that he had now made something of himself. He was going to be the most notorious vampire in part to spite his father.
We will have to take turns comforting the "broody boy."

Lori Lori . . . you got it to work . . yeah . . now what you need to do is go back in and change the size to 100 x 100 to make it bigger . . . that's what it's set for and that's that largest size proboards will allows.

Lori You are right about his relationship with his father . . .never good do anything good enought for him . . so why not be as bad as you can be . . . hence the whoring and drinking, etc. William was so meek and mild as a human and while his vamp counterpart sure was a 180 . . . there was a lot more of human WIlliam he retained . . . where there wasn't much of "nice" Liam for angelus to retain

I saw the chemistry with Kate too. The way she glanced at him uncomfortably when they were investigating possible reasons for Cordy's ghost. His look of total hurt when she said she wanted to rid the city of "his kind." When he bit her to save her in THE SHROUD OF RAMON, when she freed Wesley then turned and put her hand on her neck and the final scene where Angel relives biting her. They were both deeply conflicted and besides she was blond!

The moving avatars are cool. BUT, do they cause a scrolling problem for anyone else? Anytime I try to scroll down a page with a lot of posts using moving avatars my page moves very slowly, and jerkily. It wasn't really noticeable on bed crawl Spike or Miss Kitty. But the new ones seem to be a little different, since the whole picture is replaced by a new picture. Or maybe it was just the last few pages of part 21 were chock full of such posts. I have to say, Betsy's posts are noticeably the worst. My scroll slows down to a crawl, possibly because hers involves several page changes? I notice the same thing happens on pages on "Avatar Alley". I'd never want to limit anyone's creative expression, but I'm curious to know if this is happening to anyone else, and, I have to admit, I'm concerned that if everyone goes to moving avatars it's really going to slow things down. Sue I have cable modem so they don't prove a problem for me, though they do bother my eyes when they're on every post on the page. I believe it is an acknowledged fact that pics and moving avatars cause slow-downs for some people's setups.

On the last part, Anne wrote: "Kerrie: I had this *duh* moment yesterday about your bunny avatar and quote - of course you know the dark heart of bunnies, you live in Australia. I'm either right or a total idiot, aren't I?"
You are right - I had a number of reasons for choosing the bunny avatar and quote one of them was their "dark hearts".

Sue, your difficulty with loading pages bearing many of the animated GIF avatars is duly noted (by me). If it persists, and/or if others share it who don't have a broadband connection, I shall forego mine. I like the novelty and very much appreciate Betsy's invention, but the content of the board is more important than which picture accompanies my comments. Please continue to let me know if the problem persists, and anybody else who has the problem, please say so. We may need to take turns having animated avatars. I didn't anticipate a problem when I went out collecting them--I just thought they were NEAT.

I have read a few of her fics and she has thought of some pretty cruel things.

It had a list of things that she had happen to him in her stories. She has several stories spread out on different fanfic sites. She has her own site but I'm not sure of the link. If you want to read any of it I'll try to get you there. She has a series called RevisitedI II and III. Its pretty twisted.

If you can get me in the general direction, it would be greatly appreciated. I found some Angel screencaps and am looking at 2 epsiodes I never saw from Season 2 -- one goes back to the Hotel in 1950 and the other is with Darla and they are "moon" bathing on the roof with bathing suits and sunglasses . . . cracking me up

I'll probably make the list of offenders with what I've done to Spike: I burned his hands off, got him thoroughly sorted by a spell, put him through torture performed by Angel (in the course of which Spike's eyes were removed), and several prolonged recoveries. Buffy also sasses him a lot.

I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my discussion of my father's illness in the last few days.
My father died around 4 a.m. today (July 19), 15 minutes after my mother and I left his bedside in the I.C.U. We had been there for several hours, were tired, and thought that death was still hours away. It wouldn't have mattered much to my father whether we were there or not, he was sedated, very relaxed, and I don't think he knew we were there. But I had wanted to be there when the time came for him to go. We spent the night watching the blood pressure drop bit by bit, and death creep up on him. He was on a ventilator. Death was caused by a combination of pneumonia, malnutrition (thanx to his not eating as much as he should have, since he wasn't happy with the food at the rehab facililties where he spent the last five months), bacterial infection in the blood, lung cancer (which had not yet advanced to the point where he had symptoms), dehydration, slight loss of kidney function, and a mild heart attack. It was just too much for a tired 90-year-old to battle.
Today is my parents' 50th wedding anniversary.
This end was not unexpected; hence the lack of sudden grief. We are tired and numb. We knew he didn't have several years left, but hoped and expected to bring him home for at least a few months, so he could be at home and have good food rather than bland institutional food and care by strangers, however well-intentioned...
Gail I'm so sorry. My father died almost ten years ago now (under very different circumstances than yours). There is nothing anyone can say that even approaches adequate at a time like this, especially on a message board. Still, for what it's worth, you have my deepest sympathy. I will be thinking of you.
