Way back when she first asked for them. Why, didn't I make the guest list? Or are you worried I won't show, with my boa in tow? I haven't seen the guest list, that's why I asked. And yes, just didn't want to miss seeing you. And the boa,of course. ;D

Nan, Laura, are you planning to be at the gathering next summe? I know Spring said she'd post soon letting us know the preliminary results, but I'm not noted for my patience... Patti, yeah, I'm going. Mary, if you drop in, there's really no set time. We're 24/7, though there are usually 2 or 3 people posting (mostly the Australians) after midnight. And it's not consistent. We went something like 23 pages today, and some days are much slower. However, after Oct 1 (yes, that's when Angel premieres--WITH Spike!), it may get a bit more lively during daylight and early evening hours.
If anybody wonders, Mary replied to my e-mail and said she might drop in now. So I'm answering her here.[/color]

That's how it started here -- a lot of wind first, and then the rain came. But even still, we aren't getting it poured on like the Carolinas did, and I suspect you'll probably have even less as she moves north. It's just started raining -- and it is deliciously cool. Wonderful sleeping weather.
Of course, I'm sitting here trying to remember if I closed the garage door behind me when I left the car this afternoon (you know, those moments when of COURSE you've done something, because you do it all the time, but you suddenly can't REMEMBER if you've done it? Like being on the road 3 hours from home, and not remembering if you turned off the oven? one of those moments), and my apartment complex is such that my garage is behind my building, so I'd have to go out and walk all the way around to check. So now of course, I'm debating the whole "do I go out in all this and discover that the door IS closed, or do I wait until tomorrow and find a mess in the garage because it's open." Dilemmas, dilemmas.

Patti, I've told her that barring any unforeseen circumstances beyond my control (like, a case going to trial that can't be moved -- not that that's likely at the present time), I will be there. In fact, I volunteered to come early to help organize and to cook. We're contemplating many, many delicious Italian meals!
Oh I volunteered to do that too! You must have volunteered before I did. Yeah...I'm sure that's it. Nothing to do with any sort of Spike conflict, I'm sure.... *sniff*

Attention Buffy Shoppers -- over the next few weeks/months, several items are being released on CD and DVD to enhance our collections.
On CD, Radio Sunnydale is being released on Sept. 30. This will be the fourth CD in the BtVS series (the others being the movie soundtrack, the original TV series soundtrack, and OMWF), and is supposed to include songs like Michelle Branch's acoustic version of "Goodbye to You" that was performed at the Bronze during "Tabula Rasa", and going as far back as "The Harvest" for a track from Dashboard Prophets (which was surprisingly absent from the first TV show CD).
On DVD, a lot of releases (we're talking U.S. and Canada here, since many of these are out elsewhere already).
First, on October 14, Seasons 1-4 will be released as a single volume for a substantial discount (Amazon is advertising $120 for the set, roughly half of what it's worth). I'm not sure if this is all new packaging, or just the original packages shrinkwrapped together and remarketed. I'm guessing the latter. But if for some reason you haven't bought the first four seasons yet, you are in a position to get it for a song.
Season 5 is being released December 9. Season 6 is slated for July 6 (the day before my birthday, so please remember your technopagans next year, hint hint).
All these items are available for pre-order at the popular sites. Firefly - The Complete Series is also supposed to be released on DVD before the end of the year, but a release date isn't included on Amazon's web site, and we can expect Angel - Season 3 around next February or March.

I'm the one who's admiring him from afar. The person (I think) that I'm going to have to have a smack-down with is Anne, over ASH. Much more my type.
In fact, that's the reason why Spring was so eager to take me up on the offer of assistance, right Spring? Because she knows I'm not going to be trying any funny stuff with Spike in the basement. Yeah. right. That's it. ;D ;D ;D

Sometimes I wish I disagreed with you more, it would make me sound more original... I'd only read The Gatekeeper Trilogy by Golden before. This one is much more adult oriented I think, and I have both enjoyed it more and less for that. I have found it truly scary, very interesting in the character depiction, (all voices well written, except perhaps Tara's?) and very moody...there's a real sense of nightmare about it. At the same time, like you, I just....something about the plot just doesn't do it for me. The two types of creature involved are one type more than needed, I think that's the problem...and by this point in the story, I shouldn't feel that way. It sounds as if you took to the story the same way I did. Yeah, the two sea creatures were a bit much. I think I found them a bit hokey, and too much of a departure from the standard BtVS formula. I know I enjoyed The Lost Slayer a lot better, and it's by the same author so the voices are just as acurate but the story struck me as much better. It is very dark and moody, though, very much like BtVS.

Dilemmas, dilemmas. I know those dilemmas. Mine was always waking up in the morning, starting my morning routine and then not remembering hearing the alarm clock going off -- afraid that I was almost ready to leave for work and had gotten up completely of my own accord hours before I was scheduled to leave. Of course, the clock had gone off, I had just clicked it off in my half-asleep state and out of habit, so it never fully registered. Okay, so it's not as earth-shattering as having left the garage open in a hurricane, but it is the best example I can personally attest to.

Hey Dave -- do you get a commission for this? Or is this just a public service announcement? Just a public service announcement. I just know that some of that stuff is being released so quietly that many of our S'cubies might never have known about it. That, and you did see the hint about my birthday, right....?

Thing is, I already had one of those moments this week (I was sending a check to a friend, and paying some other bills at the same time, and after I mailed them I could not remember whether I had sent her the check payable to her or to Con Ed). Now I'm thinking I should go out and look. Shoot.
