FYI, Sideshow Toys is releasing a 12-inch Spike doll. These are the same guys that released the set of Buffy and three of the Gentlemen from "Hush" a few years back that was the most detailed and accurate Buffy figures I'd ever seen. Until now. Spike is supposed to be released sometime next year. If anyone wants to pre-order, the website is www.sideshowtoy.com. I've got Angel and Buffy already on pre-order, and will order Spike as soon as they open him up for ordering later this week. A Faith the Vampire Slayer doll is also supposed to be in the works, but no photos have been released of that one yet.

Prior to Spike, they'll be releasing Angel and a variation on Buffy. A buddy of mine just brought me the original Spike figure on Sunday. Now I want the Angel. And is the Gentleman figure still available? Where can I find it? EDIT: Found it. They're all sold out. Oh well, off to E-bay!

Unfortunately, the original set of Buffy and the Gentlemen were discontinued, but they can still be found from time-to-time on eBay. My only complaint with those figures was the stand that Buffy came on -- it wasn't enough to support her weight, so in my display cabinet she's leaning on something else to keep from falling over. The Gentlemen came on better-made stands, with clear plastic holders that make them sort of look like they're floating. Here's what those figures looked like --

Okay, can anyone point me to the instructions on how to use the Search feature? I obviously can't figure it out on my own. Does it only work on the archives?
Didn't Rae have a tutorial thread at one point?
Must go look.
Oh! And welcome to all our newbies! So many new faces since the new season started. Yeah us!

My kids will know I've gone over the edge when they see these come in the mail. Maybe I should have them sent to the office and then sneak them home. Hmmm, that sounds even worse. Nice to see you back!

Oh yes, I was there, and oh yes, it has zoom. (and I thought of you when I saw that feature too...) Anything for the study of ebulgeometrics! Micha I have a camera with a zoom lens... Mental image of exactly what was zooming... Bad Anne.

Hmmm, that sounds even worse. (nice to see you back) I agree with you, they are amazingly lifelike. I don't generally go in for collecting like that, but I just couldn't get over how amazing the details were in the first set, so I had to get it. They aren't cheap, mind you, but they aren't "toys" either. They are collector quality. Sideshow makes a lot of other figures as well, from Civil War heroes to Lord of the Rings characters to Star Trek to the Simpsons to famous movie monsters ranging from Frankenstein to Freddy Krueger, and the details are always immaculate. I've got a friend that collects their classic movie monsters; very impressive stuff.

Maybe not, John, but I understand eg is lining up Jay Leno to do the introductions for her speech. That is a gorgeous pic of Amber, by the way. Never seen better. Here are some new pics of her - am I imagining things, or has she gotten much thinner? www.buffy.nu/article.php3?id_article=2043They say the camera adds 10 pounds. If so, she must have lost 30-40.

JOHN & DEB: Yes, I'm with you on the "too thin" look for Amber. She is gorgeous and she is still gorgeous, but I thought she looked better before. But I can understand why she would do it - probably increases her chances of getting work. MICHA: You thought of me and my research when you bought your DVD player? You do me proud. Please do report on anything you discover with your new toy. By the way, I am still waiting on you and your VHISN lab to come up with the x-ray glasses for me.

That's how Spike's Pants started this crazy little group of ours. When we started who would have known how we would grow... *uhh*... expand... *drat* multiply and prosper, yeah that's it, prosper. *durned mental images!* Micha

They say the camera adds 10 pounds. If so, she must have lost 30-40. Well this picture actually dates from the time of the show, before they killed Tara off, so that was what she always looked like under all those clothes. She did this photo shoot to counter the "Tara is fat" bull**** rhetoric. M

How disappointing. I loved that she was the only one on Buffy who was not a skinny-mini (my mother's word). And I hated that because of that, she was always dressed plainly, when she was really a sexy woman. But now it seems she's gone the way of Hollywood. It's so sad that women feel they have to be thin to be attractive. The things you guys do, I tell ya! Well yeah. If you're not that way you don't get the parts. If rounder women were chosen for these parts, or shown in magazines and in films you'd have a lot more healthy teenagers and a lot fewer unhappy women. However, as I've said before, fortune favors the breastless and hipless.

Not so much these days, and most of you know how out of step I am with the S'cubies anyway. I tape Angel and watch it on Thursday mornings. Paul said something interesting about that - he feels that the Buffyverse was nicely wrapped up at the end of Chosen, and he doesn't need to watch anymore. Paul and I watch The West Wing, old West Wings on Bravo, Andromeda, Crossing Jordan (old ones, it's on hiatus, dammit), news shows on PBS, Nova if it looks interesting. If there's nothing else on, Paul sleeps to the CNBC political talk shows. I read. The girls watch Nova with us sometimes, Kitty has her Saturday cartoon wallow. We all read while watching TV. We're a boring bunch here. Has anyone been watching Joan of Arcadia? I know I am generally a lover of crappy TV (Hey, at least I know it's crappy), but this show is really good. Good acting, good writing a fairly original premise with layers and surprises, and it makes you think... well, it makes me think. (SHUSH all of you! ) Really, it is something I assume most of the S'Cubies would like.
