welcome JDS! Glad to see you come out into the sunlight. Hey Len! You're now "Len" thus preempting my question as to whether to pronounce your name "See-towner" or "See-Tee-owner". Thanks for simplifying it for me Micha, the easily confused.

I usually hit dictionary.com if I want the "correct" version, but I find it's much more fun to use my own versions in a number of cases I pronounce it "day-mon" (instead of "dee-mon"), mostly gathered from the influence of other linux geeks, ST: DS9, and my fascination with 'ae'. Sort of a curious way for me to de-lurk, but I thought I'd just chime in after reading most of what was said. Now if only I could think of something as eloquent and insightful as the rest of you... I tend to guess wildly, being too lazy computer-ignorant to get the audio stuff to work. Not a good example for my kids, probably - maybe I should get them to show me how to make the noises work. They learn these things in elementary school now, sigh... Sometimes I look things up in one of our actual dictionaries. Anyway, welcome aboard! Have fun, we generally do!

You're a quick study I can tell. Micha Heh, I've deleted two posts-in-creation in an attempt to follow your rapid-fire responses, both on the subject of stuttering wildly when attempting to communicate to someone with whom you're on unstable ground. It's the I'm-at-a-party-and-no-one-here-enjoys-the-same-things-I-do syndrome, sort of like Kaylee in Shindig, the opposite of Xander and Willow season 1. If William was intimidated becuase he didn't know how to properly relate to the capital-L Ladies, someone more on his effulgent wavelength would be spared his troublesome tongue. ...like with Dru, I suppose. Hm, I fear I'm stating the obvious. Thanks for the welcome, Len! I'm glad to be here - 'tis a much nicer atmosphere than other boards I've been to.

Thanks for simplifying it for me Micha, the easily confused. heh...it was see-towner (figured with assuming a new mantle upon Master S'cubiedom, I'd shed an old one ) (although, you can always reminisce by looking at my email address which retains the distinctive ctowner1 emblem, as it has for the past decade)

Ahem. . .by this, are you implying that the masculine perspective equates with that of the Devil? Well duh!

Okay, quoting myself yet again ('cause I'm really that cool eh Lee?) It seems my dorkiness has scared everyone off. I think William and I would have gotten along smashingly. Wel...l, if I were born in the 19th century, and well..., if I were a Brit living in London at the time... and well, if I were male. Because I don't thing Willy did very well talking with the ladies, what with the tongue tied and all. Yep, if I were a British male born in the 19th century living in London I would have gotten along smashingly with William the Bloody. Yup. For sure. Micha And if he had actually existed!

Since I'll be in Austin attending a hockey tournament (don't ask) all weekend, I'm wishing you this 'happy' now!
And again I say - I'll be gone all weekend people, so Dave, it's all in your hands! Good luck!

And I'm quoting... well you get the idea. It seems that while I was typing up the previous the board came back to life. So please, disregard all references to my being a multicentenarian british male. You're collective selective amnesia is much appreciated. (read ah-pre-see-ated.) Micha Whoops--too late!

Hah, you definitely don't suffer from IAAPANOHETSTID Syndrome, believe me, at this party you're guarranteed that someone will like the same things you do. Well as long as you follow the Golden Rule and also keep spoilers in their place, you'll fit in fine. And don't worry about deleting posts to keep up with rapid fire posting. Around here we call posting-in -a-string Patti-itis (named for its founder) and it is not something that is frowned upon. (see previous post RE: padding post numbers to attain Master status.) Welcome A-Board. (I'm still proud of having coined that sentence many moons ago. But then maybe someone else invented it independently, but since I haven't seen a copyright anywhere, I still say I invented it) ((Hey have I told you I invented the question mark?)) Micha, who is obviously procrastinating at work today.

Hey all. Wasn't around yesterday 'cause I got all caught up in commenting about 5.8 on Cousinjean's LJ and I am not a fast commentator. The LJ entry in question, in case anyone's interested, is here: www.livejournal.com/users/cousinjean/149814.html#cutid1Count me in as one who was very disturbed by Spike's crude reference to Buffy. (Yes, I know Angel did it first but Angel's remark about Spike getting his soul back just to get into a girl's pants didn't refer to how Angel felt about Buffy. It was intended to demean Spike's feelings for Buffy). But after my third viewing of the episode last night I had a change of heart and understood Spike's crudity about Buffy as intended to take Angel's accusation that Buffy never loved Spike and turn it against him to inflict the maximum damage. I like the way Dori put it best when she said: "They were both using Buffy as a weapon, there, stabbing at the place they knew would cause the most pain, and using the crude language was part of the cut. And they both did it." Then later in the day Barb Cummings posted her "Ten Unpopular Fannish Opinions" on her LJ (cracked me up!) and I got busy there. The relevant LJ entry is here, in case anyone is interested: www.livejournal.com/users/rahirah/35177.html#cutid1So I never really got into the board yesterday. I'm up to page 10 of 42 on Thread 71 so I still have quite a ways to go before I can catch up with everyone's thoughts on this amazing episode. I don't know how far I can get at work today either but I'll read what I can. But here's a couple misc thoughts I didn't mention anywhere yesterday - aplogies if they have already been covered. Re: Shanshu - I think this was mentioned twice in discussion of the Shanshu Prophesies; maybe it was Eve the first time. I know for sure that Spike specifically brought it up later. The vampire with a soul will play a major role in the apocolypse but nobody knows what side he'll fight on. Do these mentions forshadow that Angel and Spike will be on opposing sides of the next apocolypse, heading their way by this Spring, I'll wager. Seems as though Eve has turned into exposition lady. But as the PA or what ever she is for the SP, (and unbenownst to AI &/or the SP, in league with (Beer Bad) Lindsey (Pretty), they trust what she tells them, why? I love how Gunn totally has her number. He was awesome in that scene where he had her by the neck. Rob - I think that with your quip: "Lindsey, you're covered in sexy runes" you have surpassed any of the many witty and wonderful things you have ever said, and that's saying a lot. I fall at your feet in obescience and homage to your squishy, frontal lobes. That was AWESOME! Joss et.al have GOT to hear that one. deborah I put it my review. With attribution. Awesome!

And if he had actually existed! What! Are you saying William didn't exist? If that's true then Spike can't exist! WAAAAA!!!! Why didn't anyone tell me this sooner! If I had known then maybe I wouldn't have made such a fool of myself. Gees, I mean I've even joined a group of people who call themselves S'cubies! If I had only known.... ;D M
