Once again, Ladies and gentlement, I would like to direct your attention to yet another exclusive Soulful Spike Society review column! Spring and Sue have graciously offered to write this season's review of Veronica Mars. In fact, Spring has already completed assignment numero uno and has handed it in. For which she gets an A-. "What?" you say. "Only an A-?" Yes, she only gets an A- because I am leaving room for some kind of improvement. I don't know how she possibly could, but when it comes to Spring, you never know. So, read Spring's review of the Veronica Mars Pilot episode in OPEN CASE: Veronica Mars... only on the S'cubie website! And be sure to tune in next week for Sue's innaugural attempt. I know she's full of anticipation. *Glances down* Ummm clean up, Aisle 3! Okay, so she's a little less full now. Be sure to drop by the review discussion thread here on the board and post your comments after you finish reading. It's always appreciated. Vlad, TA, tp

The Avatar Alley has been completely revised, improved, increased, redone, amended, enhanced and moved. The new address is... www.soulfulspike.com/staff/alley.htmThe Avatar Alley thread will remain, I will change the link to reflect the new alley location. If you are currently using an avatar from the alley, it will soon become a broken link, so please go find it in the new alley and change your URL. Avatars have been added for Farscape, Gilmore Girls, Lost, Veronica Mars, and Alias. If your favorite character is not reflected, please IM Patti and she'll do her best to remedy that. Enjoy! And thanks to Rae for donating many of the avatars from her alley (and thanks to me for doing the same) and thanks to Vlad for the layout and logos of the new front page.

Well, I have the perfect morning pick-me-up for ya: a heaping double helping of vampy goodness!
Yep, we have all new Spikecentricity and Angelphile jsut for you! Both are jsut choc full of that beefcake with a bite. The perfect way to wake up in the morning. And believe me, these guys appreciate it when the ol' blood gets to pumpin' ;D
So make sure you stop by Spikecentricty to read Spring Summers latest on Blood Ties and then make sure you leave yourself enough time to pop over to Angelphile to read Erin's analysis of She.
Sure, it's a busy Monday morning, but sometimes you gotta jsut slow down and smell the beefcake.
Don't forget to swing by their respective discussion threads and let the gals know what you thought. They appreciate it greatly.

What a banner day to be a S'cubie! What's NEW? What the heck isn't? *L* You are gonna be busy little beavers today. And it's ALLLLL so good. Let's just get right into it: Sue takes her first foray into review territory with her excellent job on Veronica Mars. Way to go Sue, excellent read. Really indepth. I give it two Spikes up! Read CREDIT WHERE CREDIT'S DUE: It's All About Veronica by Sue on the S'cubie website in the Open Case: Veronica Mars area. Vlad's back with that cast of thousands in LOST. I think I did a fairly decent job on this one. It's better than number one. Be sure to read it for some surprising special shocking content. Yep, your ol' Unca Vlad turned up a clue or two that I know you ALL missed. Read PILOT, PART 2: Day at the Beach by Vlad in the LOST DISCOVERIES area on the S'cubie website. And for your classic entertainment we have two all new analyses by Spring and Erin: This time Spring takes on taht infamous episode Crush. And does her usual spectacular job. How does she do it, week after week, month after month? We suspect deals with te forces of darkness. Make sure to read Crush: Sleepless in Sunnydale by the S 3's very own Spring Summers. It may be found resting comfortably with the hundreds of others in Spikecentricity for the pleasure of the world. Okay, speaking of deals with the forces of darkness, we have yet another one. Directly on the heels of her recent great literary opportunity in Chicago, Erin remembers the little people that have always been behind her (okay, so we were nervous about bombs and land mines and stuff...still its the thought that counts *wink*) Anywayl, where does she find the time? Be sure to catch her terrific piece I'VE GOT YOU UNDER MY SKIN: The Devil You Know located in the easy to find Angelphile on the S'cubie website. And that is if for this TGIF S'cubie extravaganza! Be sure to pop by ALL the appropriate threads here on the board and let these authors know what you thought. They really, really appreciate it. So, until later, take it easy folks. Read, enjoy, and read some more. Vlad, TA, tp

Folks, the link to Spring analysis of Crush is now working. Spring had sent me two files , her orginal and a revised version and when I refered back to make the link I named the first file, not recalling that I had uploaded the revison.
So pleasae stop by Spikecentricity and read Crush: Sleepless in Sunnydale
I apologize to Spring for the error and most of all to the S'cubies as they were unable to read herfine writing.
Forgive me??

Things to possibly watch on tv for Sunday prime time:
(Things in red are what Vlad will be watching/taping.)
8e/7c
Cold Turkey - PAX (pilot) TV Guide says: A reality series in whiich 10 unsuspecting people are thrown together for 24 days to try to quit smoking and win cash. Tonight thet learn why they are there adn are shown messages from loved ones who are responsible.
Hoo boy! I have no idea how good this will be, but anyone who smokes or managed to quit or has been on the frontlines of a person quitting, knows that this is a virtual powder keg. Interested for the idea, but it will probably suck. I may tape the first ep.
Gilmore Girls - ABC FAMILY (syndication repeat of a first season episode)
Good chance for folks new to the show to start catching up by watching this series from the beginning.
Cold Case - CBS (Season Premiere) Lots of peopel liked this series that started last year (including my mom) and it received pretty good critical praise. If you like procedurals like L&O or CSI or Without a Trace, you might give it a shot.
9e/8c
Jack & Bobby - WB (new episode)
Two kids; one of them grows up to be president in like 2040 or something, the other one croaks. Family drama, not watching. This is, I believe, the second episode, so it's probably not too late to get in.
Desperate Housewives - ABC (Pilot) TV Guide says: Stepford meets Peyton Place in this wicked spin on soaps. Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria and Marcia Cross star as the ladies of Wisteria Lane, where picket fences and planters mask a certain suburban insanity. And that may explain why picture perfect pal Mary Alice (Brenda Strong) offs herself and now serves as narrator. As the domestic dramas pile up--one's loving hte lawn boy.
Hmmm. This show is getting a lot of buzz. I gotta feeling I won't like it. I have never been a fan of Teri Hatcher. I will probably tune in since it airs immediately before Boston Legal on the same channel. My recommendation...tape the two (DH and BL) while you are watching something else this firsst time out.
L&O: Criminal Intent - NBC (new episode) You know what this is, right?
10e/9c Boston Legal - ABC (Pilot)
TV Guide says: A spin -off from "The Practice" that's similarly inconventional. The opener centers on a civil rights issue and a custody battle.
Okay, this is more (and less) than a spin off from The Practice. We were introduced to the majority of these characters last season in the roughly last 4 episodes of the practice as it centered equally on Alan Shore's(James Spader) introduction to this new big firm and the fall and decline of Bobby Donnell's old firm.
The newest addition to the big firm, for all you Keen Eddie fans is Robert Valley, who played titled "Det. Eddie" on that fine program! He is apparently playing a straight-laced lawyer who will be going head to head with Spader's loose interpretation of morality. Interestingly, the ABC Cast Bio on the official website makes no mention of Mr. Valley's work on Keen Eddie, but makes sure to list the following: Pasadena, ER and Once and Again, plus his guest spots on CSI, The Lone Gunmen and Gideon's Crossing (which I have never heard of!). Wow! I wouldn't want Pasadena on my bio and who hasn't had a guest spot on ER?
Crossing Jordan - NBC (new episode) The first episode of this season was much better than almost anything this series aired last season. I will be watching to see if the trend repeats.
I hope you can all find somethign to watch!

Sue told me to post here to catch people up on my life, so here goes. The anti-depressants must be working - the kids and Ian are good. Cait has one more term of kindy left before she starts school next year. Chris starts pre-entry for kindy this term. This means that one of the children will be at kindy every day of the week! On a sadder note my grandmother who was suffering with Alzheimer's died last week. Because of the type of Alzheimer's that she had most of her family's last memories of her are as a bitter, paranoid and occassionally violent woman. It is really awful, because that is not how she was before. The unit plan on television is a class assignment as part of my Bachelor of Education. However, if I ever teach Society and Environment I will be able to use it. Unfortunately I don't think I will ever teach Society and Environment as it is a subject which many people are qualified to teach and I am qualified to teach subjects that have shortages (i.e. Maths and Psychology). However, I am really hoping that one day I will get to use the unit plan or at least get someone else to use it as I have put a lot of thought into it and it is a great way to indoctrinate people into thinking that BtVS and AtS are fabulous! I don't think this an abuse of my powers! I admit that I am probably stretching it a bit when I show "Smile Time" in class, but.... I don't think I have any other news. I really miss everyone and think about you all often. Unfortunately I am snowed under with assignments etcetra at the moment (I haven't even caught up with Spring's last few analyses!), but there are only five weeks left til the end of the semester. I hope everyone is well. Please drop me a line if you ever have the urge. Cheers.

Since I suspect Erin's not going to do it herself, I'm doing it for her--to see her name online and dowload a pdf of her master class story, look no further than here: grahamschool.uchicago.edu/has/courses.cfm?courseid=2865I think it's more than obvious after reading it why her story was chosen as one of the four to be discussed during the class.

Since it was suggested, I've put a thread for general thoughts about AtS Season 5 on the Angel Investigations topic. It's open to anyone who wants to post thoughts about Season 5 as a whole, possibly springing off some particular episode (or not).
If you have an appropriate post on the main thread (or elsewhere), you're welcome to copy it over to the S5 overview on the AI topic for ease in locating it. Perhaps eventually the posts on this new thread will be copied or transferred to the Episodic Elaborations topic once it has a Season 5 discussion-place open.
It's open, it's stickied: enjoy!

Yes indeedies... Spring was so upset that she wasn't able to review Veronica Mars due to that silly vice-presidential election debate thingy, that she wrote a whole new Spikecentricity.
Unlike that oh so boring show, she promises not to go into detail about healthcare reform or the war over there *waves vaguely* somewhere. No, while those are all important issues, she has somethign even better: an analysis of I Was Made To Love You !
Marvel as she digs out all the juicy details in an episode that is all about love. ..twisted, demented perverted love, but hey, it's Warren. What do you expect? Candy and flowers? And hey, it's Smutday, so, well, it's jsut appropriate.
Read Sping's I Was Made To Love You: Handcrafted...only on the S'cubie website in Spikecentricity.
And don't forget to swing by her discussion thread right here on the message board for hte finest in after analysis commentary with a modern master of the mulled point. And we know she's a master 'cause, after all, cause she knows "tater" has only one "R." ;D
Vlad, TA, tp
And, a quick reminder to everyone...tonight at 11:59 is the deadline for all your Graphic Content Week One submissions. There are slots still available in both Jossverse and Otherverse Pics. Let's see what you all have!
