//I was in my car for about an hour and a half today, and on the radio (when I wasn't listening to OMWF) I kept hearing the Evanescence song "Bring Me to Life// Athene, if you like that song at all, you should hear the album, Fallen. Evanesence is one of those rare bands that actually put decent songs on their album beginning to end, rather than one or two that are really great and save the rest of the good songs for the followup. Bring Me To Life is a great song, but you're right, it's played to death. It's about time the radio stations realized there are other tracks on that album.

I know Alexandra (The First... S'Cubie, that is) has the honor of beginning new threads here on the Misc. board. But I was wondering what everyone thought about maybe considering asking Alexandra to being a whole new thread just to discuss the finale - it could start at some agreed-upon time after the ep's aired (like 9:00 pm Eastern or Pacific time, for example). This thread is already up to 21 pages as I'm writing this. I was also thinking that despite that we're all intelligent folks who can, of course, easily find our way to the end of any thread to see the latest discussions (or in this case, perhaps locate the BEGINNING of the post-finale discussion), some of us might be a little too 'verklempt' to even do that much. Certainly too, though, you all might reasonably decide that there's gonna be enough conflict, angst, tears, grief, etc., going through the (e)motions that anything a little different from standard procedure may not be adviseable. Anyway, just a thought. Feedback?

Anne, I would hate it with all of my being, but if you forced me at gunpoint to choose, I would give up posting before I would give up watching so I guess that answers your question. Sue

Personally, I'm very curious about BOTH things, but for me, in order, it's 1st seeing the finale, and then 2nd discussing it. Other than ONE thing, I have NO real idea as to what'll happen on "Buffy" tonight. But I feel I DO have a vague idea of what some people's reactions here will be given what DOES happen on the finale. I know *my* feelings are on my sleeve and I'm getting more anxious by the minute!

//What are you all the most excited about, seeing the final episode or discussing it here just after?// Is there going to be much of an after-episode discussion? Or will everyone be curled up in the fetal position on their sofas, crying like babies over the demise of just some TV show with a silly name about a blonde chick who hunts monsters in her spare time?

Dammit, no fetal position!! I am going to stay awake till impossible hours (considering I'm in France) to see reactions of people to this episode, so you'd better discuss it!! All of you!!

I'm going to have to muster up enough energy to click over to FOX for the 24 finale. I've put too much thought into that series to skip the finale. Whether I'll be able to absorb anything I'm seeing on the screen, I don't know yet. It's kind of the bargain I made with my female roommate -- I got her hooked on BtVS -- she got me hooked on 24. I can't let her down tonight by skipping off afterward to sit at the computer. Right now, I'm more looking forward to the episode itself. I think I'm gonna be fetal on the couch for 24, though.

Miss P - I think someone mentioned starting a new S3 thread for finale discussion - it's a good idea and I think Alexandra would be very agreeable. BUT - will she be here in time? She's in California, so by the time most of the EDT folks see it, it will be 6pm for Alexandra . . . I am soon going to log off of here and not come back until 11pm, when BtVS is over here in my neck of the woods (woods being the operative word). I don't want to risk seeing any spoilery comments! Maybe one of you should plan to move it in case Alexandra doesn't make it in time? If it's clearly marked and explained, I doubt very much she would take offense.

That was forceful, Anne! Um, guess I'm logging on after 24! Can't wait to see all that gets said in the first hour.

Oh, okay - I didn't know if anyone else had suggested it or I just missed it somehow, plus I didn't know Alexandra is in CA. *I* certainly wouldn't mind starting a new thread as I'm on Eastern time and will have ready access as soon as it's over, but I positively don't want to step on anyone else's toes, the least of whose in this case is Alexandra's. I hope maybe she sees this question soon - that she's in a position to board-surf!

The countdown to the end has begun, in less than two hours I'll be planted on my sofa, popcorn and kleenex at the ready. Until then, it's a one-man Buffy finale party here at my house. My 12-inch Buffy figure stands atop the TV, surrounded by three menacing Gentlemen figures -- my prized collection -- ready to battle for the Hellmouth. Tonight, the Gentlemen will be playing the role of the Turok-Han (not so much of a reach, Camden Toy was a Gentleman and now he's the Turok-Han). The CD player is blasting out all three BtVS-related albums (the movie soundtrack, the TV soundtrack and the musical soundtrack) in shuffle mode). And I'm wearing my favorite "Women of Buffy" T-shirt, with Buffy, Willow, Tara, Dawn and Anya on it. How nice it was for my job to send me home just so I could watch the Buffy finale. In the words of Lt. Cmdr. Worf, "Today is a good day to die."
