I read all of it, (before it got to the site even) and love love love it, and the ending is strong and beautiful and right. Thank you Nan, for gifting us with your vision of Spike, Dawn, and Buffy. I even like the SITs better now. (Except Kennedy)

ScoopMe will probably screw up the linebreaks, but I was just reminded of this song that played in the The Harvest, the second episode ever of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Today, the dead friends the ballad is being sung for is the Scooby Gang -- not intended to be a spoiler, mind you, just that the show is going off the air, so the Scooby Gang is no more. "Ballad for Dead Friends" by Dashboard Prophets In "The Harvest", this song starts immediately after "Wearing Me Down" ends, when Cordelia bumps into Jesse on the dance floor of the Bronze. The song continues while Luke, Darla, and several vampires approach the main entrance of the Bronze. This song can be found on Dashboard Prophets' Burning Out the Inside.
"Ballad for Dead Friends" How are you feelin' Do you feel okay 'Cause I don't It keeps me reelin' Will I ever be the same No I won't It's a cold day in a cruel world I really wished I could have saved you Then who would have saved me from myself Right now, well, I could use a stiff drink To kill the pain that's deep inside my bones Have you been dreamin' I don't dream at all I have nightmares Memories careenin' Have you come to kill what's left Of my smile There's no vacancy in paradise I really wished I could have saved you Then who would have saved me from myself Right now, well, I could use a stiff drink Kill the pain that's deep inside my bones I really wished I could have saved you Then who would have saved me from myself I really wished I could have saved you I'll never forget you I'll never forget you I'll never forget you I'll never forget you I really wished I could have saved you I really wished I could have saved you I really wished I could have saved you I really wished I could have saved you

David, you didn't put any spoilers in your post. You also said the article was spoilery so I think anyone who went there was thoroughly warned. Not to worry.

//Is gentleman a bad word? Cause I thought you and Vlad and Rob were all gentlemen...hot bad boys, but also gentlemen. // Gentlemen sounds so much like we completely behave ourselves, and I know I refuse to. Then again, Gentlemen can also refer to pasty white ghouls who float around making narry a sound, stealing people's hearts. That's not me either -- I like to talk way too much to be a Gentleman. Thank you for distracting me from the impending end of "Buffy". I'm watching FX right now and am looking forward to her faking out Luke with the stage light but in the meantime, here's some food for thought. My husband's undergraduate alma mater, Wabash College, has only one rule of conduct: Behave as a gentleman at all times. Pretty cool, huh.

What must I do to get that last address you mentioned?? // Considering James put his hand on the small of Patti's back and called her "Darlin'" during the Cleveland convention, I'm not surprised that she has his address. Possibly even a cell phone number to go with it .... I'm sure when they suggested the convention in Houston, James reaction was, "Only if Patti can be there, too." David Crenshaw
