This web site is an easy one to follow - it is a thorough but basic series of HTML lessons. I used it to create my course outline and I go to it to refresh my memory every time I want to post an image because my mind must be rapidly decaying. www.mcli.dist.maricopa.edu/tut/lessons.htmlI bookmarked it.

I just found this quote on Entertainment Tonight's website (of all places) from Joss Whedon about sireing that I'd never heard before and didn't know - so her I go with the sharing...
JOSS: I don't have the math in front of me to figure out Spike's age, but it is closer to 126 than 200. I believe it was in 1850 that Angel made Drusilla and then Drusilla made Spike. Now, this is where it gets confusing for everybody, your sire can mean anybody in the line that made you. So, Drusilla is Spike's sire, but so is Angel in the sense that Angel made Drusilla and Drusilla made Spike. If we were being more literal we would call him a grandsire, but that term does not exist in the vampire world, so sire just means somebody that you are connected to because they came before you on the line. By that reckoning you could say that Darla is Spike's sire since she made Angel.

You mention that we have no analysis of Buffy on our site..it made me realize that Buffy is probably the character I least like on the series, and that dates much further back than season six, so it isn't her abuse of Spike that did it. Buffy's ability to draw blood was apparent way back in the season 2 opener 'When She was Bad' and though one had to understand why in that episode, I don't see her inner bitch as having mellowed much since. When she is upset or worried, she tends to take it out on those nearest her. Now, if I were expected to save the world once a week for seven years, my sparkling personality might also suffer, but though I understand the reasons, I still don't end up with very fuzzy feelings toward Buffy. The only reason I want her to love Spike is because he wants that

oh oh oh - I found a Spike interview at Entertainment Tonight too that y'all might like. www.etonline.com/television/a2750.htm(A side note - Michael Winters, as JM says, IS brilliant. He plays the mayor or something on the Gilmore Girls which none of us watch as it has a wretched time spotm, *wink* and he is a very nice man. He's back doing theatre in Seattle now) Sorry, I've gone missing but I haven't seen direty Girls yet and I don't wanna be spoiled. Tootles.

I saw Frank Langella on Broadway too. Got a chance to speak to him briefly. Nice man. Very shy.
GEORGEOUS on stage. Pity he never found movie roles that worked for him. Much better on stage.
...Long ago and far away...

I just acccidentally caught some Buffy coverage on E-news. The male news-guy (how's that for precision?) appears to be a huge Buffy fan, and the story consisted of some clever intercutting of scenes from 'Dirty Girls' and previous eps with snippets of interviews with actors on their reaction to the show ending - Tony Head (shook his head, then broke into big hammy sobs), Alyson Hannigan ('the show's going to go out with a bang, I want fireworks and bubbles') Marti Noxon (her answer was some silliness that meant nothing to me, but hey, Marti Noxon) and JAMES MARSTERS ('I'm in a total state of denial, man.)
ANNOUNCEMENT - the Buffy Wrap Party will be covered on E News MONDAY. The m n-g(see above)said everyone on the cast was there 'Except for bunnies' (last bit was sung! Cute.)

Hey Patti-
I too have relatively few fuzzy feelings for Buffy- ( I wonder if JW was having SMG channel some of her inner Buffy or is that a bitchy thing to say?).
I'd like Spike to end up with Buffy because their relationship strikes fire and it rings true to me in terms of a couple that would be interesting to watch develop a new dynamic after they mutually agreed to stop bashing one another.
As far as Buffy's character- what yu describe is interesting in terms of the whole Kennedy debate.
Do you think the Kennedy character is limited by time/general unlikeability quotient/ incompetent acting/ all of the above? I asked b/c of the comments you made (with which I concur) about Buffy.
I mean Cordelia's bitchiness was undercut by her comic truthtellingness- how much of this likeability is written in and how much conveyed by the acot's intrinsic ability?
I mean look at how unattractively the Warren character is played- his mouth is generally open or twisted unattractively and he slouches unappealingly. It is a visual medium and we take our cues from that to a certain extent.

Not everyone is going to get along all the time. I don't care who you are, if you spend 12 hours a day, 5 days a week with someone for the better part of nine months, there will be moments when you want to choke them.
It's inevitable. Especially if you throw in other factors like Sarah's pretty well known seriousness in her work. She worked her ass off on BTVS, and she expected everyone else to be on their game as much as her.
Joss had two specific rules when it came to giving interviews: don't give away any plot specifics and don't say anything negative about fellow cast members.
Still, it doesn't take a genius to figure out that Sarah can be pretty intense. From a viewer's standpoint, I consider that to be a very good thing. She helps to get the best from those around her.
I don't think anyone hates each other. I really don't. Freddie's probably had to hear a lot of things from Sarah's perspective, and a lot of it is most likely frustrations with the people she worked with. Who doesn't complain about stuff at work to their spouse? That's who you turn to if you need to get stuff off your chest.
He's her husband. It's a credit to him that he defends her, though I didn't find it necessary for him to make the comments. Sarah's a big girl, and she's not shy about saying what she thinks.
Let me add one last thing: if you can't stand someone you work with, you'd never invite them to your wedding, whether you're in Hollywood or not. Every cast member of BTVS---including Sarah--went to Nick Brendon's a couple of years ago.
She got married in Mexico. It was meant to be a small ceremony isolated from the Hollywood celeb wedding crush. I doubt the actors lost that much sleep over it. She probably just talked to them about it, and they were cool with it.
The point I'm getting at here is things get overblown sometimes, and Freddie's comments aren't really that damning. I honestly believe Sarah's just tired. She's worked incredibly hard and no one is at their best all the time when they're exhausted.
I don't think they could have worked this well together for this long it there weren't trust and respect between them all....at the very least.

Buffy is my only absolute'must see'. (I'm less of an Angel, fan but it seems like Angel is all part of the same universe so I watch it too. I loved Wofram & Hart and now that Lila's toast (sob) I'm missing my favorite villains).I watched Farscape until this last season where it lost me. Alias, 6 Feet Under, Trading Spaces, and the Sci-Fi channel in general. Tried Fire Fly but we didn't click. I'm addicted to NetFlix for old movies (Just saw Lost Horizon again).

Ok time for some serious fan worship here- You got to meet Frank Langella? There was a time I would have been sooo jealous. (All over that now)
Seriously- I first was drawn to my husband b/c he reminded me of Frank Langella about whom I had been swooning over on PBS in some Tenesse Williams play. Before you castigate me for being superficial- he was also wonderful, literate, companionable ( my husband- I never met FL).

I watch Buffy and Angel religiously. I also like O'Shea and Nigel on Discovery. I'd watch the Gilmore Girls if it were on at a different time. I used to be into Trading Spaces, but not so much anymore. Oh, and I watch Enterprise, but I almost forgot it so I guess I'm not that big of a fan.
hmmm... I guess it's just the big two for me right now. Wow, I'll have t do something else on Tuesday nights now. (sob)
