Been chained to the computer since before 2 or so because I needed to sign up for the opportunity to get my photo taken with JM at the Moonlight Rising convention. There are limited spots, first come first served, that sort of thing. I think I sent in my request just moments after the announcement was posted, so I should be good to go. Confirmation won't arrive until tomorrow or Monday though. If I do get a photo, then I'll get to meet him twice over the weekend. So excited!
And now back to my regularly scheduled life...

This is easy. Alyson Hannigan every day and twice on Sunday. If Sarah had been allowed I don't know if I could've answered because I cannot choose between those two. I've never really been able to. They're both so extraordinary. If I had to date a character I'd date Kennedy. We'd go to the Espresso Pump and I'd have a few of my S'cubie friends hiding behind the pillars with baseball bats. Then we'd proceed to teach her a little lesson about respect for characters who could kick the living crap out of her with one hand tied behind their back if they wished to. I mean honestly....Kennedy's shown a few skills, but I'd give Xander or Dawn a 50-50 shot at taking her.

Assuming we're talking a one-time thing, I think I'd go out with Holden Webster - before he was sired, as I don't much go for the idea of ending the evening bloodless.
He was a good listener, but he kept up his end of the conversation, and he was good-looking and smart.

If I could go on a date with anyone from the show, I would have to pick Jenny Calender's uncle, the gypsy king. He's tall, dark, maybe not quite so handsome, but hey, looks aren't everything. We could share make-up tips, shop for trendy gypsy fashion stuff, and maybe boil a few goat's heads for a romantic dinner, under the stars, in the grass, right outside those wagon things they live in.
Cool, huh.

VLAD- if you haven't yet sent that tape, why don't you hold off. It looks as the UPN channel stil won't be transmitting by this coming Tuesday, so if you don't mind, could you just add next week's episode to the same tape, and send it shortly thereafter? Let me know if this is a problem.
Today, I'm going to try to work on my analysis of "Innocence". There is so much going on in that episode, I've been having a hard time wrapping my mind around it, but I hope to have it done this weekend.
I finally got out of my driveway, but couldn't get all the way back up.

Hey everyone,
I had an unexpected Sat off (from my volunteer work) and so came into the office with every intention of completing my Season 4 review and posting my results. I had eight more episodes to go. But after reading four more ScoopMe reviews and associated postings I am crawling out of my skin. I'm sorry, I'm just so preoccupied with the current story line that I can only manage to focus on the Season 4 episode discussions with their preponderance of Riley and decided lack of Spike in relatively small dosages. If the Episode Board were even remotely as busy then as it is now I'd say Fugetaboutit and resign my history chair forthwith. Luckily most episodes only have two pages worth of postings.
Most of the comments about Riley and Riley/Buffy have thus far been positive. The negative comments mostly describe dissatisfaction with his bland and undefined nature, which is considered to be the fault of the writing rather than the concept of his character.
I will see if I can finish this up by next week by posting the results of my tally and providing you with some selected excerpts from the postings I read.
Now for some shopping errands then home to read the next few chapters in my latest Fanfiction diversion. I'm currently enjoying the Dancing in the Dark serial.

Meant to say "Ongoing" but could have been a Fraudian error there.

The other man I would pick, would be Ethan Raynes. He's more my age, good looking, and has really great evil ideas. I'll bet with just one date, we could come up with a sound, speedy plan to get rid of Kennedy.

Okay, if I had to pick one person assoicated withthe show, it would have to be George Hertzberg. He played two parts in Season 4 of Buffy. I am choosing his brief appearance in "Restless" rather than his extensive part as "Adam". Why? 'Cause he's cute. From: www.buffyworld.com/buffy/season4/pictures/78_pic_7.jpgP.S. If anyone has recently seen a commercial with a man driving a black Ford Focus trying to keep water off it to the extreme where he jumps on the hood to get splashed himself rather than let water on his car - that's George Hertzberg.

As much as it pains me to say it, it's pretty clear that Sarah is leaving the show, at least on a full-time basis. I'd be willing to bet that she'd show up during ratings sweeps with whatever Joss is planning for next year. I've come to the conclusion that he's going to do something. The question that's flying around the Net is who stays and who goes? Three people that I'm certain are out are Anya, Giles and Buffy. The overwhelming opinion is Eliza Dushku sticks around as Faith, with Alyson Hannigan as sort of a co-lead. Of the remaining leads we're left with Xander, Spike and Dawn. Of those, I'd say Dawn is the least likely to stick around unless Buffy is to die....and I don't see that happening. I've grown to really like her, but there's no decent scenario for her to be seperated from her sister. Spike carries the same concerns for me....if we want to continue to see James Marsters as Spike, realistically he and Buffy cannot be romantically linked at the end of he season, at least on a permanent basis. I don't expect Joss to do that anyway...he'll make it hurt somehow. His chances are therefore much better than Dawn to stick around in some form. I saved Xander for last because I haven't a clue what their plans are for him. On the surface it appears there are none. Andrew has pretty much taken Xander's job, and the upcoming episode appears to give Tom Lenk a huge showcase. Based on that I'm not certain Xander will have a place in a new show....I think the writers have run his character's course. I can't imagine Willow without Xander by her side, but if Anya dies or leaves (she'll have to do one or the other) then they might send Xander with her. I hate that; but at this point I think I'd rather have them kill his character than make him the rather pathetic non-entity he's become. Xander deserves better than that. Based on what I've seen this year, I'd guess your cast next season will be Eliza Dushku, Alyson Hannigan, Tom Lenk, Iyari Limon (I HATE Kennedy, but she's been given too much to do, and she's connected to Willow..she stays) and James Marsters as Spike. I'm sure there will be some added characters, but that's the core Scooby Gang: The Next Generation. I stubbornly cling to the fact that Xander and Faith would be a great idea for a relationship, because their interaction would be a blast to watch...but I think the former Zeppo is fading away.

Robert- I have to agree with you about the whole SMG scenario but I definitely see a place for Xander and Principal Wood in a future series. Just watching the episode in Season 4 wherein Xander and Anya are snarking at one another at a frat party where things are about to get wild (Where the Wild Things Are). His comic timing is precise and he can definitely carry a role where he is called to be deprecating and amsuing and supportive w/o stealing the show. I can wsee him and Wood sniping at one another b/4 they charge off in opposite directions to save Faith/Willow/Dawn and or possibly Spike.

Alexandra or anyone- Is there a way to loan me a copy of JM in Andromeda? I keep reading references to him in that and the Alaskan show and it is very frustrating. He is rapidly becoming one of my favorite actors and I can only see him see him in such a limited venue and maybe not that for much longer. Please please.

I'd love for you to be right. I really would. As I said, I can't imagine Willow hanging around to fight Evil without Xander by her side. To borrow a phrase from an old friend: as Willow goes, so goes Xander's nation, and vice versa. Before Buffy, Giles, Spike, Angel, and Oz....there was Willow and Xander. The Season 6 finale was testament that the writers understand that fact. If Xander goes out, I want him to go out a hero. He deserves that much.

Robert reading your ideas has caused me to think, yet again.
Dawn - she seems to be showing a definite ability for research and for learning new things, like Sumerian, even though her school work seems to be suffering. Last week, Willow gave us a physics lesson on energy. Energy can't be either created or destroyed, it can only change forms. Because Dawn was created from energy whose existence has been a *key* factor in the fight against evil, she may well be of important use in the future. Maybe her ability to grasp Sumerian had to do with her past, even though we've been told she's human now, that doesn't exclude the possibility of drawing on her past existence.
Xander - although he seems to be of little use, he does dispense much needed wisdom when called for. I would like to see his role expanded to include more of this. Other characters have grown, why not Xander too. He has lived through and seen more than the ‘average' guy in Sunnydale, and should have come to some philosophical insights. I would still like to see he and Spike butt heads and compete with each other, yet come to the same conclusions to defeat whatever foes lie ahead of them. I would like to see more of the Xander that talked with Dawn. I think they have enough time left in this season to develop more of that, just don't dink around with the SITs so much. As funny as Andrew (and as good as Tom Lenk is at being Andrew), I think Xander and he would be good to ‘bounce' off each other.
Kennedy - Can't we find a better partner for Willow? I, too, dislike the propriety attitude she takes towards Willow and doesn't even know what Willow is about. After last week she has a better idea, but still doesn't have a clue as to the real Willow. Get me one date with Ethan and she's history.
This show, being Buffy... , has to showcase Buffy. But they have a good ensemble cast that is not being used to it's best advantage. I would like to see a more of an ensemble approach if JW goes forward with this show. It would seem to me they could even come up with more stories by invloving more characters and letting each have their ‘day' more often.
