My mom is very oddly obsessed with how Shakira is able to get her boobs to rotate in the same direction in that Verizon commercial. I must say, I find it interesting, too, but not to the point of calling people back in from another room...
Act I
108 minutes..
Would it enter more time if you put different numbers in?
Does Jack remember Desmond?
Oh.. he's being all obsessive about his father's place. There's no way he's...
Huh.
He moved? Interesting.
"Funny"? You BASTARD.
"Why" asshat. It's a simple question. Yes, there's a why: asshat valued living over kin. May he rot in hell.
You ARE wanted, John, just not by asshat there.
Heh.. Now, why didn't Locke and Boone search around that hill to try and find another entrance?
"Saving the world"?! Huh.
"And we saved the world together for a while and that was lovely"
Hell of a story...
Jar of chips?
Huh, that sigil on the wall... S in a "I Ching" trigram pattern? Or whatever it's called.. that's what's on all the rations..
Film?
Same symbol..
And there's the ep title..

Act II "Normalness"? "Aw crap" Why are they fronded? for protection from the sun? Kind of them. oh, owie, machete. ouchies. Oh, he recognizes him, but can't place him. "Because the last time I saw the computer that was gonna save the world it didn't look like that" WTF? Hey, old tech is reliable tech. Huh.. not an "s" but a swan, and those ARE the I Ching trigrams.. wow. "Dharma Initiative"? Crap, the Initiative people are freakin' everywhere, aren't they? Station 3? Gerald and Karen DeGroot.. Skinner? Communo-research compound? Polar bears! Woohoo! Alvar Hanso.. munitions magnate.. Station three: the Swan.. 540 days.. more numbers.. And the button pushing cannot be automated? Don't attempt to use the computer? "Thank you, Namaste, and good luck!" 1980?

Act III
Why isn't he wanting to watch it again?
Huh. Michelle Rodriguez.. I wonder how many other survivors there are...
"THEY"
"We're about to be the best thing that ever happened to you"
He's been hiding underground with a less than two-hour window between code-pressings.. of course he doesn't get out much.
Thing is, it could be automated..
Yep, fits in with the "Skinner" thingie from the movie.
The bunker is a big skinner box....
Whatinhell is an "electromagnetic station"?
"Makes his (nonferrous) fillings hurt?"
Huh.. every 108 minutes... interesting. I wonder if a different sequence of numbers would produce a different result?
So there IS another entrance....
Why an airlock?

Act IV Hi, Helen. That's an intersting way to announce your hello, ramming a car.. Choose Helen, you idiot.. Your dad USED you. Oh, poor Locke... fear of the future.. Huh.. explains why he was so primed for the faith he gets later... He chooses Helen..but how did it go to hell? And how did he get hurt? So Hurley gets in through the door? Or great. joke of the fat guy and the limitless food. "Guess I was too busy getting hit in the face with a club"? Heh... he figured she was a plant, before anybody else did. Man, that's a pain in the ass. So the Lords of the Flies are the Others?

Act V
Desmond go bump.
"In about fifteen minutes, you are going to be very right or very wrong, brother"
"I know you"
He remembers Jack...
"It doesn't matter" Why does he say "I married her" like it's "I killed her"?
"See you in another life, yeah?" again...
Oooh! Five minutes on the click-o-vision.
Sayid is the trusting sort, he may fit in with Locke's camp well. Faith.
Oh, that's the alarm going off, and the prompt! Woohoo!!
"32" "allright, you go ahead"
Dammit, Hugo ALMOST foiled it. Damned good try.
"Two person job"?
What in the hell does it matter who presses the skinner box button?
"I can't do this alone, Jack"
"It's a leap of Faith"
It's definately being set up with Hurley and Locke in opposite camps...servants of the numbers, and defiers of the numbers?
Regarding the preview:
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! When did Jin get the ten minute Berlitz course?
I've been wondering the entire time if he actually spoke English... But I'm wondering if there might not be something else..

Just got a chance to watch last night's episode Dude! Didn't see that coming at all. With all the serious of the show, I laughed out loud for about 5 minutes when they pulled out the "Orientation" tape. #rofl1# Godzilla, anyone? Oh - and the backer for the Greg and Dharma Project looked like Locke's father to me, but I didn't see Locke react with recognition. Helen! She was a real live person! The Others looked very similar to our Lostaways. Couldn't see all of their faces, but there were Kate and Michael super-twins for sure. The previews! OMG! Jin!! What the heck?

I think Locke speaks for all of us when he says "we're gonna need to watch that again". 'Cuz, whoa! Guess we were whining too much about not getting enough info. We got tons of info now, but what the hell does it all mean? Dharma project? Unique electromagnetic fluctuations and then "and incident"? The DeGroots?! And the film doesn't say "the world will end" it says the future of the project is in your hands. Were we right or were we right! It's an experiment! They mentioned Skinner and had polar bears! Too. Much. Data! Eeeeeep! On the up side, we got a great Hurley moment. "Returning to normalness" Kate runs out of the jungle. "Oh crap." And why does it make sense to have Sawyer try to escape? Considering he's the one with the pre-existing shoulder wound. My vote for dorkiest line of the ep? "It's a girl." ;D Hurley's "oh, crap" moment was hilarious!! Also, later when he told Locke to 'go for it' when he punched in the wrong numbers. Loved his face in that scene! Yeah - "it's a girl" struck me as weird, too. What you would say after a baby is born. Huh. Regarding the button. I was wonder which would really be more of a leap of faith - to follow directions, put in the numbers and push the button, or to let the time run out and not? Jack didn't make his own kind of music, did he? He's not ready. None of them are. Good ep. I'll have to skim the rest of the posts from last night - then it's back to the grindstone for me.

Awww. A key to her place. And she seems to break through his obsession. Loved how she kinda said "all right?" with a little question - like she can't believe he listened to her. I wonder what goes wrong? Woman from the back of the plane was alone? Has been alone all this time? I wonder . . . I hope Sawyer's gun still works. And how many bullets are left? I wondered about 'Kate's twin', too. I thought she might've been a 'plant' as soon as she was thrown in the hole. But Jin didn't seem to recognize her voice. Locke is still looking for an answer to "why". I liked his father's cryptic "There is no why." statement. Speaking of Locke's father. He just doesn't seem old enough to be his father. Do you think he's found some kind of fountain of youth?

I sooooooooooo did NOT want that button pushed. EETAH! But I figured that would've been the end of the story.

Jeez, I didn't even make the connection--Calvin is yet another deep thinker. He was a big believer in predestination. I think we need to google DeGroot too. So, Locke can't fight the obsession with daddy. She says because he's afraid to move on with the relationship with her, but I think he simply can't move on because that would solidify that his dad doesn't give a rats ass about him. As long as he's stalker guy he has a chance at annoying daddy enough that he'll still at least notice him. And oooooh, damn, I was right to be suspicious!! She's one of them! So, either she met and joined up with the Others much earlier than she was claiming. Or else the Others are the survivors from the tail of the plane. Or else all the other plane survivors joined the Others already on the island.
Maybe it's only one side of the island - the one they landed on - that makes you "sick"? If "sick" means psycho.Oh, I don't know. I'm not sure that our Lostaways wouldn't act the same way if some 'Others' had washed up on shore - especially after their experience with other people on the island - CFL, Walt being kidnapped and Ethan Rom and the kidnapping of Claire. Maybe this new group has been exposed to awful experiences, too. We just don't know their story yet.

Teaser Well, that fight was over quickly... kind of them to use a net to do their hauling. What is this, a parental issues support group? $30 versus a kidney is a bit of a weighty equation. What the hell kind of support group IS that? She's a heck of a counselor there.. Dennis Leary therapy, that. and yes, she IS hitting on him.. Helen.. this can NOT be the same Helen, can it be? Kate is a resourceful woman.... Dessie is going a little apeshit isn't he? Why so? I'm thinking it was an anger management support group. Oh...maybe it's not the same Helen. Maybe Locke told the phone-sex-friend lady that he wanted to call her 'Helen'. Dessie has been stuck in a hole by himself for a while - or so he says anyway. He's gotta be a little nuts.

Yes, to second Lola, what is going on with Jin next week? I can't remember what he said in the preview, but it was definitely in clear English - has he been scamming Everybody, including Sun? Is he an agent of the Others? Sheesh.
And I too got so sick of Jack and Locke's set-to about the darned button. I was yelling Just push the stupid button already!
Y'know, if they just rotate 10 or so people in and out of the bunker, no one needs to lose any sleep pushing the button every 108 minutes. I'm sure there are plenty of folks who'd like electricity and showers and candy bars and music...
I think that Jack's wife's paralysis came back and ruined the marriage....
And I think the bunker/button deal is a big, wacko behavioral and biological experiment (complete with polar bears and special children)...
GAIL Agree with the experiment idea. Desmond wouldn't answer when Jack asked how he got his supplies. Something's up with him besides just being a castaway. Jin said something like - "Everything is going to be different change."

Kate had much the same reaction as Hurley to the food - so I didn't see the fat guy joke. And she grabbed the candy - Hurley didn't.
