OMG I want Jin soooo bad. Um, I mean, yay he and Sun are back together. Yay. Sayid digging Shannon's grave. Does Sawyer even know what he's saying? I mean, he is running a fever. WTF a horse? OK is this Kate's hallucination time or are we in polar bear and shark territory? Alright, who is this guy? I'm guessing icky daddy. And she ends up killing him. Huh. Ends up blowing him up? Or are we just meant to think that?

Yup. Icky daddy or step daddy. And he was hurting mom, too. Hmmmm. "Wayne." So, he's likely step daddy. And her name really is Katherine. What did you do, Katherine. She made sure that Wayne blew up, that's what she did. Shannon's funeral. Awwww, Rose and Bernard look so nice together. But poor Sayid. I think Mr. Eko is right when he says "most of them" know it was an accident. But, an acccident that didn't need to happen, for oh so many reasons. Patsy Cline in the bunker and Kate mashing up fruit for Sawyer. Can it get more surreal? OK, WTH? "Why did you kill me?" Is he just wacked out from the infection or is he starting to get "sick"? You know, like how people on the island supposedly get "sick".

That damn doomsday button is really getting on my last nerve. Mmmmmmm. Jack wrestling a mostly nekkid Sawyer back into bed. I can sleep peacefully now. Interesting. Charlie is calling the Tailenders "them". And, yeah Charlie. Having "the one who killed her" come to the funeral might have been "awkward". Kate trying to flee and we see the Marshall! Hey, Marshall. "Your momma gave you up." Woot!! Jin gets rid of the handcuff and has a touching moment with Michael. Builder Michael finds blast doors. Well. Doesn't that just tally with some possible ideas . . . . I'm sensing unspoken tension between Locke and Mr Eko. But I could be imagining that. Woah. Kate rips Jack a new one. Aaaaand then they go into a clinch. So, are all the Fronties going nuts or what?

Y'all did notice that Mike used the computer for something other than inputting the darn Numbers and the island didn't explode - Dharma head games?
GAIL to which I respond.. yet. But that does bring up an interesting point. How many people here think there really will be an incident if the numbers are not entered and how many think it is just a scam?

OK the white coat guy in the film doesn't make it seem like the world will end if the buttons don't get pushed. He's just "this is important to the project".
Mr. Eko don't like it. I'm with him!
Now, WTF is up with Kate? Why is she totally freaking out? What happened beteen her and Sawyer?
Yes!!!!! Sayid tells her about seeing Walt! And yes, maybe that does mean you're crazy.
Mr Marshall thinks he's soooo smart. But he better watch out, 'cuz she's gonna take him out.
Well, now we know why she was freaking out about the horse. I think all the folks who ended up on the island DID have some weird stuff happen to them before they got on the plane.
"Boy, when you say beginning, you really mean beginning." ;D
Huh. Another movie. Or maybe the bits taken out of the movie, eh? I mean, someone was hiding it. So, what is Mr Eko's story trying to say? Other than the book metaphor? That they are "building their temple" on the wrong foundation by paying attention to the movie they have?

Hurley. "Didn't see that one coming." ;D Maybe you're mad at Sawyer. Oh, clever clever Hurley. WHAT happened with Sawyer, Kate? Daddy isn't really daddy. Wayne was daddy. Really icky then. "I didn't tell you because I knew you'd kill me." "Because I don't have murder in my heart." This is increasingly . . . odd. Ohhhhhhh. She sees Wayne in Sawyer. OK, that . . . sorta makes sense. "Are we saved?" Gooood question, buddy. Good question.

Random Observations:
I like Kate even less than I did before; which isn't saying much.
Evidently Jack is feeling the same way; since he's now having a drink with loose cannon Ana Lucia. On the other hand, Kate seems to be something of a loose cannon, too. Maybe he should start up something with Sawyer.
Do you think the writers set up this episode so that there'd be several minutes of focussing on Sawyer's nude torso?
Did Shannon's funeral seem awkward, or was it just me?
MisterEko can give Sayid a run for his money as Island's Sexiest Voice.
Where's Libby? I want her to meet Locke and start psychoanalyzing him. It could be fun.
Wait 'til Mike sees little Walt again and the kid is an inch taller than his dad....
Coming Attractions - Mister Eko v. Monster? No, no, they can't let it eat him! Feed it Charley instead; Charley was a bit whiny tonight...

Interesting idea. I'd also suggest that she sees a lot of herself in Sawyer as well--albeit I suspect it's the things she doesn't like so much. Hi Sara, Hope you're parents aren't stomping through about now. So what do you think she wants from Jack, love or absolution? No, they actually stayed out of the room the entire time. For a change. What do I think Kate wants from Jack? Hmmm. I'm not sure she's looking for absolution from anyone for what she did to Wayne--not yet, at least. But I think the death of her childhood sweetheart, Tom, does weigh very heavily on her, as she has to believe he'd still be alive if she hadn't killed Wayne and subsequently gone on the run. In fact, I'd wager Jack and Sawyer represent to her, on some level, those two men whose deaths she feels responsible for--two men who were also complete polar opposites. Kate herself admitted that Sawyer and the feelings she has for him bring Wayne to mind--Wayne who represented a part of herself she hated so much that she turned to fire to erase it from existence. After all, she could have killed Wayne lots of ways--both Sawyer and Ana took out their guys who "needed killin'," as Matthew might describe them, pretty economically. Fire, however, doesn't just kill--it consumes and cleanses, leaving next to nothing in its wake. Jack, on the other hand, almost undoubtedly reminds her of Tom. They're both doctors, both fundamentally good people who see the good in her, see her as the person Kate wants to be but doesn't think she can ever become. Upon first meeting her Jack asked Kate for her help, trusting her to do for him what he couldn't do for himself. And I suspect it had been a long while since someone had evinced that kind of immediate and unhesitating faith in her--in fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Tom was indeed the last person who'd shown her that kind of trust. So, I guess in my roundabout way I'm trying to say I believe Kate does want Jack's love--but I think she wants even more to believe herself worthy of it.

"What are the odds." "Don't mistake coincidence for fate." This is interesting. Hee hee! "Son of a bitch." ;D Poor Sawyer. So the horse is like the polar bear and the shark. "If you mean the big ass horse standin' in the middle of the jungle, then, yeah." ;D ;D ;D And she knows the horse. Freaksome! "We're runnin' a little low on mixers." ;D ;D Locke and Mr Eko give each other WTF faces! And hey, that film had some more stuff cut out of it. Plus, another station that will try to temp you to do other stuff with the computer? Which is exactly what's happening. Oh, Michael. You never give your real name on the internet! WALT!!!!!!

How many people here think there really will be an incident if the numbers are not entered and how many think it is just a scam? I vote for both. I think there will be some kind of "incident", but I also think there is a scam being run on them all by the Dharma folk.

Oh my god! It's a pooka! That's what the thing on the island is! Don't go for a ride, whatever you do....
Also...whoa. Don't piss off The Kate, I guess, huh? Divorce wasn't good enough for her?
And...aww. Jin and Sun. And shirtless DDK. Which all of life needs more of.

Interesting. Charlie is calling the Tailenders "them". I kept meaning to mention this: there are Them and The Others, and there are them/the others, that is the fronties to the tailenders and vice versa. And the others are mistaken for The Others quite a bit. That's not coherent. I'm tired.

Abs of Jin!!!
love the actress who plays Kate's mom
loved Kate's flashbacks, never seen another episode with Kate-Flashbacks.
Jin getting his handcuff off connecting to handcuffed Kate
Actually referenced Lord Of The Flies (though maybe it's not the first time)
I was really intrigued by the possibility that no one would type the code in time. Then we would see what would happen.
loved the Jack Kate kiss.
getting back to the film, yay! Healthy dose of skepticism and the film splices
love Hurley for talking to Jack
"Are we saved?" "no, Sawyer, not yet"
Yay Michael for thinking outside the box! And Walt! Or is it?
Though I not comfortable with the idea of threesomes, due to my catholic upbringing, I'm finding it to be a compelling possible solution to love triangles in fiction. Go Jack/Kate/Sawyer! Can't they all just get along?

Great Matt. Sitting in a hotel room on the NH/MA border watching the Lost. Think Kate is only attracted to Sawyer cause she thinks she's not good enough for Jack? Good possibillity on that: but I think it's more complicated, in that she sees herself in Sawyer, too. And face it, Sawyer's got the arrogant bad-boy appeal and the charming Southern accent. Meh. The bad boy appeal and accent are over-rated. Don't get me wrong--I like Sawyer and think he's sexy as hell, but I prefer Jack.
