And upon re-viewing, I think Jae simply killed himself. What backup-thug would allow him time to grab the pearl necklace that had been refused by his lover, after his lover's husband came in and beat the snot out of him, for what he thinks is his actions of sleeping with her? I haven't back read all the pages yet but really? See that never entered my mind. I just assumed someone gave him a helpful push.

Was that Sun's father that came in and saw them in flagrante delecto? I know he has ties to the.... are developments from the "Lost Experience" online game spoilers? Jin will come around to the sensible side of the universe eventually: he's got it in him. Snerk! "How dare you!" "Shocked, not shot" Plusses in that: it's not a distance weapon, like the taser Juliet used on him. But why does everyone like zapping hell out of Sawyer? Oh, come on, some people you just wanna taser. #rofl1#

Nope, not a dork. The BoSox winning was a huge deal, and just because you're fictional doesn't mean you wouldn't be sad that you missed it. Besides, that was a good way to get some sympathy from the audience for the character of Jack--it was a moment to which a lot of people could relate. You are just hot for Jack, Jack, Jack. It's all Jack with you, all the time. Well, Jack among a few others (not to be confused with The Others), yeah....

Okay, I won't: mostly because I was distracted by the breakfast menu in last week's episode. Right there with you, scooter. I didn't think it was a Buffy reference. I believe it was a nod to Buffy fans. I mean, didn't Kate have some of Sawyer's fish biscuit since she had breakfast with Benry? Also, why would they chose strawberries instead of coffee or eggs or some other thing she may have had at the breakfast (other than the fact that strawberries sound prettier and more feminine and sweet )? Besides, it gives me a happy when my fandoms collide (like VM and BSG), so I'll keep believing that Drew threw that in there just for me. ;D

Last night's show was a vast improvement over last week's. In fact, it was the first time I have truly enjoyed an episode of "LOST" since the Season 2 episode, "The Whole Truth" (2.16). Which is not surprising since it was a Sun/Jin episode, with Sayid thrown into the mix. Yunjin Kim and Daniel Dae Kim were above par, as usual. And Naveen Andrews could do no wrong. However, I had some serious concerns about Sayid's plan. And it was interesting to see what happened to Sun's "friend". I think that after Jae's death, Jin found out that he and Sun were somehow involved. And yet . . . he had kept his suspicions to himself. He must really love her. It's interesting how many had cheered Sun for shooting the unarmed Colleen . . . and had criticized Ana-Lucia for killing Goodwin in a fight, last season.
As for the Others . . . I think I'm getting tired of them. I am especially getting tired of fake Henry or Ben. His ambiguity and mysterious air is becoming a cliche. Not even his revelation to Jack about having contact with the outside world has dimmed this feeling. And I wish to God that someone would burn that damn sundress. It seems that the writers' main concern is to give Kate a chance to show off her body for Sawyer . . . and the male viewers.

He called me "son" for the first time. I do this for you, Sun! Except it's not what she wants. Sort of Great Gatsby-like. And Jin catches on too. Because he's knows more English than he lets on. Just not comfortable speaking it. Yep. He knows Sun betrayed him. Way back when or more recently? Yeah, I would keep one person actually on the boat at all times, but that's just me. If I liked Sawyer, that would probably be hot. Kissing her to provide a distraction? Too bad it didn't work. Did they come out of the water? There's an entrance to Hydra underneath the dock? You dont like Sawyer?!?!?!? Oh man... It's the interaction between him and everything else (specially Kate ;D),(and enjoyment of hte characters of Locke and Hurley) that keep me watching this show! It seems that the writers' main concern is to give Kate a chance to show off her body for Sawyer . . . and the male viewers. The dress, as Sara said, makes Kate feel vulnerable. Kate-in-a-dress makes Sawyer feel more protective (among other things ), which makes him more open to being manipulated by The Others' threats against Kate. The Others are playing mind games with both of them, and controlling what Kate wears is just a part of it. I, too, find Benry the Rat annoying, but I think we're supposed to. I do hope there's some payoff down the road, because if he's just a flat two-dimensional baddie, what's the fun in that? Aside from that, everything I wanted to say has pretty much already been said, and better.

Watching Kate bend over while wearing that dress gave me another reason why Lindehoff and Cuse put her in that dress in the first place. And Kate feeling "vulnerable" had nothing to do with it, I'm afraid. I just felt negative and annoyed about the whole thing.

Fish, I cannot find a post you've made where you did not feel negative and annoyed about Kate, sundress or no sundress. Fact remains that making a person do hard labor in what are basically frilly party clothes is a degrading action, meant (in my view) to mess with Kate's head. Granted, I thought she looked good in it, in general, but I also thought she looked ridiculous, and was angry at the Others for the tactic.

I got the feeling that Jin figured it out, but forgave Sun: he realized that he had not been ideal husband material at the time. And he loves her in totality, I think.I don't recall cheering here about Sun's actions shooting the unarmed Colleen: I was wanting her to do it sooner, though. Someone breaks on your boat, she's invading your home: also, it was very likely (to Sun) that it was part of a larger invasion effort: a gunshot would alert Jin and Sayid to the danger on the boat, and bring them at a run.
And as for Ana-Lucia killing Goodwin? I had no problem with that, myself, either. Goodwin had killed members of their party, was a mole and therefore a traitor, and tried to kill her as well.

Goodwin had killed members of their party, was a mole and therefore a traitor, and tried to kill her as well.I'd have to watch the episode over again, but my impression was that Sun was as shocked when the gun went off as Colleen was - Sun really didn't want to shoot anyone, but she was backed into a corner, and did what she had to to survive. I agree with you about Jin - he's flawed, he has anger issues, but he truly loves Sun and wants to be a good husband to her. IMHO, YMMV, and all that.
