I love Lost, I really do. But it's extremely frustrating to not be able to tell who is lying and who isn't. Is it only me who thinks that Juliet's flashback took place in the 60's? That's one of the big problems I find with normal 3D life, at times..

Hurley comes up to Juliette. This should be interesting. He appreciates her sly humor, but he also doesn't hide his opinions. "You put bags on our heads after your shocked us." And telling her about Ethan - kidnapped Claire, Charlie got upset, he's buried over there. He's just lettin' you know, Juliette. All those Other mind-games will come home to roost, eventually. Pregnant patient dies, Juliette suggests taking one off the Island so see if that changes things (so she's on board with the fact that the island is "special"). But, girl, you know they're not going to let you leave. Oh, Benry! What a prince you are. Your sister is dying of cancer again (see, I magically know all info and dispense it out to people when it suits me); you can leave, but instead you should stay and help (I offer you what appears to be a choice, but really I will somehow make sure you "pick" the one I want and I would never have let you do anything else); I'll cure your sister (not as just the humane thing to do, but as a carrot to make you jump like I want); oh, and if you don't trust me, I'll bring up the all-knowing-mystical Jacob guy that we all apparently worship here on the island or something. Jack, Jack, Jack. Juliette is "not one of them anymore". Except, she'll only talk "when she's ready". I like Sayid's repudiation of using torture, while still being very clear he doesn't trust her. Frankly, she does owe them an explanation. That's all she can do to make up for what's been done up to now, so she should just do it. Oh, ouch. "The fact I trust her should be enough." "It's not." You've been a leader, Jack, but that doesn't mean you just get to dictate to everyone else how they should feel or what they should do. Claire's bleeding now . . . Ouch again! Sun's cold translation of "what do you care?" Well, Juliette, your people did shoot at Jin's boat, try to kill them all and stole Michael's son. Think that means they're gonna be slow to clasp you to their hearts. Ah, Juliette - "because I did it to her". The drugs from when you guys had Claire, I'm thinking, eh?

And she acts like a Soap Opera Amnesiac.. "What happened?"
"Here's the peace-offering that you get for not killing Claire."
Is Jack talking to the producers from the audience?
"good people. Gonna need some answers"
"You wanna get off this island more than anything else in the world. Makes you one of us"
So she's included in their tribe.
SHIT.
It's a freakin' ploy. DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT DAMMIT.
razzle-frazzing ratzen-katzen..
IMPLANT? JEEBUS.
She may still want to get off this island more than anything else in the world, but she's not particular who she works with on it. Dangit. I was SO hoping that she wasn't a plant.

Sawyer and Sayid are not happy about Jack and Kate and Juliette chatting. Quick! Sawyer, kiss Sayid! You know you want to! Ahem. Back to reality. So, women on the island can't have babies, they die because the baby becomes a parasite or something. (Wacky!) And Claire was gonna be their "control" because she wasn't dying (because of her magical mystical baby). So, poor old Ethan wasn't a bad evil man (even thought he hung Charlie by the neck and threatened to kill people) - no, he was just a researcher stealing her blood to test, making her think she was crazy, then kidnapping her when he was discovered. He was just "improvising". And Juliette can fix things by getting Claire back on the drug because it was protecting her from the island pregnant woman-killing thing. Ahhhhhhh ha! That's why Benry's spine cancer thing was so important. Duh! Because he was all "there is no cancer on the island, I can cure your sister". So, then, why does he have cancer? Good point, Juliette. But he still won't let her leave. Liar, liar, Benry! Heck, how do you know her cancer actually did come back at all, Juliette? After all, it was Benry who told you she was sick again. Easy enough to "cure" cancer that was never really there. Medical records can be faked.

So.. the Others are losing control and exclusivity of their facilities at a large rate... they've still got Pala Island (Hydra) and (If Juliet doesn't give the codes over) the Village, but they've lost the Swan, the Pearl, the Flame, The Caduceaus.... The Arrow...

I really really really liked this episode! I LOVE Juliettes character! It was a great turn to have Ben send her there, This plot has pulled me back in fully, I loved it. I cant wait to see where this goes.
Is she working with Ben, Or is she trying to get away from him. I am betting she is joining the Losties but we shall see.
Just a really great episode!

What I don't understand is why Juliet ever left her sister to take this weirdo job with a company no one ever heard of and go far away...
And why did the Others need Juliet to do whatever they've got her doing now. They have Locke, they had Sayid and Jack and Kate; why didn't they just keep them?
Unless the Others want all the Lostaways dead?
I have never trusted Juliet.

So what is that on the tree? reminds me of the Turacean's tattoo from Heavy Metal. Don't try trumping them with the moral high ground stuff... Then again, well, that part kinda worked... she has them saying "moo". Note to Self: Don't F*** with the fertility doctor. AND the scene from the begining of the season!!!!!! Plane crashing to "Downtown"!!!!! AWESOME!! Something he needs to show her. What? LOVE the "We're approaching the house, don't shoot us..." Acadia Park? Where is that? Ah. Miami. And Fachel is alive, has hair, and a kid. So he proves to her that his word is good. huh. At least on things he chooses to prove it on.. Brought her back to the fold. "Get back here as soon as you can" from Miami? Teleportation!!!! There are stepping disks between thither and hither!!! Don't try Charlie on concatenative logic, his little driveshaft will spin apart.... Jack's telling her "if your magic doesn't work, the villagers will tear you to bits.. I sometimes think they are stuck in the Bermuda Triangle.

I still think that Juliet is backed into a corner, somehow, and will wind up defecting to the Lostaways. Because I'm an idiot who is all sorts of optimistic and hopeful. Jack needs everyone to believe that he's been taken in by Juliette, to make it all the more convincing to Juliette. Kate is suspicious though. She just can't make sense out of Jack's actions - they don't sound like Jack. She's suspicious. Sayid and Sawyer are buying it for now. I am hoping Juliette is a temporary character. If not, then I suppose they could have a "she turns good" sort of story in mind for her. I found her righteous little speech to Sayid and Sawyer to be WAAAY off the mark, and it convinced me more than ever that she wasn't for real. She was emotionally manipulating them, using a "turning the tables" technique. What she was saying really made no sense at all - they weren't playing "moral police,' they were just playing "police," trying to protect themselves and their people. Instead of addressing what they were REALLY asking about - who are you, what are you doing here, why should we trust you, etc - she accused them of something they weren't doing, then she told them how unqualified they were to do it. It was so deliberate and manipulative . . . it reeked.

I believe Jack is putting an awful lot of faith in the fact that she will stay on his side. I mean she really wants off the Island, she wants to see her sister and nephew. The man she was in relations with was killed by Ana Lucia on the Island, and the sub exploded. She knows if she stays with Ben she will not leave this Island EVER! I have to believe she is putting her money on Jack and the Losties getting off the Island first.

I thought it was horrible, and why didnt they say , If you know so much about us , then you know we dont fuck around, and we will kill you if you dont start talking now!!!!!!! at least they did answer how the others were able to get all the info on the losties.

Okay. I'm just gonna say it so it's out there and on the record, so to speak, but I know there's little point in trying to convince the rest of y'all:
I still think Juliet might turn out okay.
I know, I know. Call me naive, call me a trusting idiot, whatever. But there are lots of ways this storyline could go: she could have agreed to go along with Ben's plan in order to get away from him and the Others, she could be playing along with the intent to double-cross him later on... there's lots of plausible scenarios that could easily end with her on the Losties' side.
I also realize it's not very likely, that if she were planning on betraying Ben she'd have told Jack about their plan, that she could have a grudge against the Losties over what happened to Goodwin, etc. I know all the logical reasons I should just give up and face the reality: Juliet's a liar, is playing our gang like a virtuoso, and will eventually betray all of them—most likely breaking Jack's heart in the process.
But I'm gonna continue believing she'll end up a good guy anyway.
