I'd tell you who tonight's flashback focus is on, but according to everything I've heard we'll be experiencing a Lost first: an episode without any flashbacks at all. And since this ep comes from the pens of executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, it'd probably be good to be paying particularly close attention this evening.

Yeah, I'd really like to know what he meant by "Don't you know where we are?"

Locke, reading and burning files by firelight, and someone who ("they can't hear you) doesn't want to be there. Ah, a flashback on the island.
Back to Locke's bad daddy. "You brought him here." So, Locke wished him up in the magic box? And dad bites him? WTF? "Don't you know where we are?" Hmmmm. So, daddy knows, or thinks he knows, where they are? Does daddy think they're "in hell", perhaps? ;D
This is when Benry told him the Others were leaving and asking if he wanted to come along. Hmmmm. To a "new/old" place.
Ah, apres-sex-on-the-beach. Heee! She can't sleep in another tent. ;D Old habits, indeed.
**snicker** Love the whole exchange between them. "Fine (shoves her) Scram." Then it's all "want me to walk you home, I have to pee anyway." ;D
More giggles! Hurley and Jin looking all guilty and everybody being all "what are you doing?"
Ooooh, there's Locke. "Hello, James." So, why the emphasis on his "real" name?

Yeah, I'd really like to know what he meant by "Don't you know where we are?" **nods** But, does he really know anything, or does he just think he does, or is he part of a big ol' Other scam? I mean, he is a very good scam artist . . .

So, I'm thinkin' it's pretty likely Locke's dad is Sawyer's Sawyer. Why else bring James all the way out there?

Interesting. Locke didn't "join", he "infiltrated". To learn all their secrets (so he could find a killer), kidnap Benry, and have him killed. I would have said the same thing as Sawyer "you want him dead, you kill him". **pause to snicker over the whole "zip up your pants" bit - poor Sawyer at a loss on how to do it and still keep the gun aimed at him** Is the reason why Locke can't kill him because then he won't be an Island favorite anymore? He knows Sawyer won't shoot, that little smile says things are going just how he wants them to. And here we are at Camp Other. Ooh, you're getting some appreciative looks there, John Locke. "We've been waiting for you." Oh-kay. So, he's like some magic gift or something? Benry is listening to Juliette's tape, so we know a bit of the timing of these scenes. Hmmmm. He just tells Locke that they're gonna find any pregnant women and take them? Is he that sure of Locke, or is this a bogus plan? Benry's started to be able to walk and he's convinced that Locke just being there is the reason. Locke's brought that Island magic right to him. Hmmmm. Oh, but now Benry is gonna be all "you can't handle the truth metaphorical magic box". Yeah. You wouldn't be singing that tune if you weren't getting better. You'd still be trying to placate John in the hopes of making the Island like you again. Oh, right. He's gotta kill his demons, literally, before he can get the goodies. Prove his "commitment". Yeah. Cult, much? The other (not Other) "campers" are back. Heh. Yeah, I'll bet Jack wants to do some male bonding . . . **goes to happy place** Ahem. So, they're keeping the parachute woman a secret; Charlie and Hurley want to tell Jack but Desmond doesn't trust him; and the parachut woman is supposedly gonna get them off the island. Um. How does this fit with the whole "you're all dead" thing? Sawyer did follow Locke (yep, he knew how to bait the hook nicely, our Mr. Locke). Locke likes knowing the secrets he learned in the files. Damn. Sawyer is practically hysterical, for Sawyer. I really think you should stop calling him James and talking about his childhood issues. It's making him twitchy. Locke 'fessed up to being on the lookout for a killer, Sawyer flat out says he's taking Benry back to camp, and Locke is sure Sawyer will want to kill him once he hears what Benry has to say. Why? Because Benry knows about him and can spill the beans? Because what he has to say is so mean/icky that Sawyer will just want to kill him? Why?

I wonder if the Others will believe Locke actually did it. I mean, if he couldn't stab his father do they really think he'd be able to strangle him—a much more personal way to kill someone?

The Desmond crew turn to Sayid as their trusted guy. Smart move. He'd be my choice as well. Naomi (oy, enough with the biblical names already!) says the helicopter came from a ship, working for Penelope, (like we thought), etc. etc. Interesting that the plane was discovered way under the ocean. So, yeah, tapes of the plane and bodies could have been faked. And Sayid doesn't just take her at her word, he questions her as well. Yes! This is why Sayid is the clever one. And frankly, even though it fits with what we know about Penelope and all, I still don't rule out the idea that she is just another Other scam. "Remind me not to rescue you, Sayid." Heee! ;D Hmmmm. It's not Locke's place to say what's coming. Yeah. You just like pulling people's chains and what not. Ah. The pretty little Other tents. **begins singing, Little tents, on the hillside, little tents made of ticky tacky . . . la la la** Ahem. It's time . . . time to (cue dramatic music) Kill Daddy! John Locke, come onnnnn down! Daddy taunts him. (Bright move there, sparky. ) Ben goads him. (Um. Working your own issues, there, eh?) The crowd gathers (and that's just creepy). This is supposed to free him, blah blah blah. But he don't do it and so Benry whacks the guy instead. Hmmmm. Hang tough, Locke. You know it will wreck your "good" status with the Island Monster if you croak him. That's why Benry wants you to do it. "He's not who we thought he was." Wait a minute. You guys all thought he was some kind of magical Island Priest to re-start up with mystical sacrifices to the four toed God again, didn't you? Heee! Suckers. Interesting. Locke took him to the Black Rock ship. Which Sawyer has never seen . . . (casts back memory to first season . . . ) Heee! "What's in the boxes?" (slaps them) "That'd be dynamite." Ooops! Don't want another Artz incident here. Interesting. Locke keeps calling him James. He's goading him like Benry and Daddy kept goading him at the sacrificial pillar thing. Aaaaand Sawyer falls for the trap. Which is not to kill Benry, but to kill Daddy (who, yes of course will end up being Sawyer's actual Sawyer, like Locke doesn't know all about that). So, Locke can do what he and Benry want, kill his daddy, and yet not get any of the icky patricidal blood on his hands. See, Island Monster, I should still be allowed to walk!
