Oh, also the parallel between Kate being nosy about what Hurley et al were up to, and the subsequent scene with Rousseau being completely uninterested about what Locke was up to.

I watched this one with only half-an-eye, so not much commentary other than Locke has really crossed the line, getting Sawyer to kill his dad for him. That is some nasty business, there. I am wondering what this will do to Sawyer.
I think there may be something to the theory that Ben is envious of Locke, of Locke seeming to be more of a "favored" child.
Once Sawyer gets that tape back to the Losties, things should hit the fan, and hopefully we'll get some answers about just what Juliet is up to, and why Jack is acting soooo un-Jack-like.
It was a much more interesting ep to me than last week.

Note to self: Do not watch Doctor Who followed by Lost. The latter pales in comparison.
So, Kate and Sawyer are *ahem* "dancing". That was a very sweet and funny scene.
For an episode that was supposed to be flashback-free, this one sure had a lot of "eight days" and "three days" ago stuff. Maybe they meant pre-crash flashback (crashback?). It was very confusing.
It's the Island of the Dead Daddies. Will Kate's wicked step-dad be the next one to pop up?
I do not like Locke. Locke has gone completely off the deep end, round the bend, and any other similies you can conjure up.
Also, when Rat Benry said "kill your father", I don't think he meant "con someone else into doing your dirty work". When Locke staggers up to the Others with his dad on his back, I don't think he's getting the reception he expects. "Well, did you do it?" "Yes." "All by yourself?" "Well, not exactly. I got Sawyer to do it. But he's dead." "Sorry, no cheating. Go back and do it over, and this time do it yourself."
I don't trust Jack, either. He's pushing the "trust me, trust Juliette" a little too hard.
I have come to the conclusion that the characters in the show may not be in Purgatory, but I sure am.
Anne, still hanging in there, but just barely

Part I It's a set up. If ben's really tied up in the jungle, then it's because he wanted to be. Locke wants to recruit a murderer. 3 days ago. That's a big jump. So the Others are just camping out on some other part of the island. OK then. The Others are excited that Locke's here? They've been waiting for him? Are they going to worship him? Brainshare! I'm thinking something like that too. And that's why Benry is so very very set on controlling and keeping power over Locke. 'Cuz he's a threat to Benry's position. **nods** Doesn't fit my definition. It's gonna get even more intense!

Part II Sayid they can trust. *Nods* **nods too** Sounds like it to me too. And since the bodies were only footage from an underwater camera and the plane is likely too deep to recover them . . . . well, none of it sounds out of the realm of what the Other folk can fake. **nods and bounces** Yes! I am thinking we're finally getting some call-back to the foot and what it means! Nice parallel! Nope.

Part III Oh, it's the satellite phone. I guess they got it back from Mikail. One thing at a time. There's some kind of interference preventing any transmissions. Nosy Kate shows up. Hee. Rousseau! She wants dynamite. For? 2 days ago. Richard. Ben wanted to embarrass Locke. Is that true? Locke's miraculous healing could only happen to some one who was very special. And that undermines Ben's authority. Ben's been wasting time with things like fertility problems. What is their big purpose, then. My current idea is that their big purpose is some kind of "ultimate meaning of life/ascend to a higher plane of existance" thing. With links to the previous worship stuff that happened long ago on the island and that is currently being warped by this Jacob guy who is running his own wacky cult. But I may have been watching too much Stargate lately. ;D Nuisance and also, daddy was scared, I think. Scared that Locke was just gonna keep . . . . haunting him, so to speak. Keep showing up, keep poking at him, never disappearing unless he killed him. Yep. All those who called it, take a bow! ;D

Each of them trying soooo hard to stick with their false fronts. ;D Yeah, that's what I thought. No pre-crash backstory, just all stuff that is Island stuff. Ohhhhh, that is a scary and interesting thought. ;D

They have improved this show so much over the last 6 episodes. I am so thrilled. This was another winner of an episode. Very dark. I like the funny ones but this one was more on the dark side. Juliette and Jack are definitely in cahoots on something. I still got to believe she is setting Ben up. And I am calling it now, I beleive Juliette will shoot and kill Ben. I hate it is getting so good and now there is only 3 episodes left. I wish it had been this damn good all year long. They almost lost me earlier this year, I am glad I stuck it out. Now they need to drop Nathan Fillion on the Island. That would be a great addition to the cast. OMG. That would be perfection. Great idea, the "Drive" race (now cancelled - we'll blame it on the "Others") ends up on Dharma Island where "Alex" finds wife Amy Acker! If not, since it looks like Kiefer Sutherland wants less time on "24", Nathan would make a great CTU field agent. (I'm not buying Ricky Schroeder.) leftylady

Oh - I am not in that camp. It just doesn't make sense to me in terms of Jack - who Jack is and such. It could be that Jack and Juliette are in some kind of actual cahoots, but that will be a big disappointment to me, in terms of who I thought Jack was, and who he must be to do such a thing so easily - begin trusting Juliet with no real reason to do so. My Jackie-boy will no longer be my Jackie-boy.

One more thing:
I loved the ending. Locke trudging off with his bundle. His father may be dead but he's still the monkey on Locke's back.
