Woot! Were we right about Troy or what! And he almost suckered me with the "that was two years ago" and "maybe if you would have let me tell you, once I knew you better and trusted you". Lola Does the dance of "all those Joss years have taught me to spot the he's too good to be true guy". Um. It's a rather complicated dance.

Kudos, Patti! So, do you think that Veronica's mom was having an affair with the elder Kane? I thought so a couple episodes ago - now with these pictures of Veronica with her head circled - like her mom was being threatened with Veronica's death if she didn't leave....I think its much more serious than 'just' an affair - life or death serious. I think maybe she knew who killed Lily...? At least as Matthew said about somthign - that's my theory this week.

I had seen the promo which was spliced together to make Troy look suspicious. And I still bought into his whole, "it's all in my past" sob story. Notice how when people are trying to hide the truth they get all aggressive and play up the the "you're the bad guy" and unfair to me. Made her feel all guilty. I was soooo pleased that she hadn't bought it (like silly me). I hear ya. I almost bought it too. I was doubting myself up until I saw the cab in front of the place they stopped on their way home from TJ.

I was so hoping Troy was one of the good ones. I totally bought his teary eyed explanation there near the end. At least he isn't a murderer. (I hope, I hope, I hope.) So,at the end, I assume Veronica didn't get her mom's message because that was on speaker? Cool how she took that dealer's picture. doh. I'm hoping the message will be on the machine or on her cell... Oh - how about the Scooby Doo references? sort of a... 3 degrees from Buffy thing *grin*

One thing had made me suspicious, tho (of course I'd forgotten). The actor was being billed week to week as "guest starring." So -- a bit of a clue that he wasn't for the long run. (Of course was Amber Benson "guest starring" for almost 3 seasons?) I guess she'll get the message eventually. As for the dealer--I was wondering how she was going to get rid of him permanently. We recently had a news story on a guy who took the picture of his car-jacker. The criminal was caught within hours.

The Troy part wasn't depressing - cause I didn't trust or like him - but just my feeling now that Logan has little to recommend him - my hopes that Veronica and Duncan would get back together are pretty much kaput- unless she can turn on a dime several times... And that scene in the restaurant and then that dim little birthday party....where's the hope? Well, there's Wallace. Surely he's hope? He had Troy's number. Plus - The drug dealer getting caught... 'cuz that'd never happen in real life so that's a lil' hope thrown in there with the dark stuff.

I think we can assume she was going to get the message. She just had her earphones on so she didn't hear the phone ring. It sounded like her Mom got her voicemail instead. She just won't be able to call back most likely... the phone probably had lots of minutes on it but I'm betting her Mom ditched it right after leaving a message. (Of course, if V was smart, she wrote down which phone she sent to which person... I think they all have to have separate numbers.) that sure seemed like an expensive gamit Veronica picked. She sent out a lot of phones. But I have no idea how much disposable cell phones cost.

I say no less than $20 though which means she had at least $200 worth of phones. Of course her dad probably has connections for these kind of resources as part of the PI biz.

Um, holy crap? Mad kudos to everybody who said Troy couldn't be trusted. I feel so much for Veronica and Keith; both are so damaged by what happened... **nods muchly about the Veronica and Keith pain** Man, some of the voice overs by Veronica - so bitter, so young! The line about how being abandoned by your mom right after your best friend has been murdered. And then when she breaks down and is crying and tells her dad that he does this for a living and should be able to find her mom and bring her back? Man! Lola **ouch, ouch, I should remember that playing with my very feisty kitty can be dangerous, ow, ow, claws in my leg ow!**

She knew what to do with that photo - found the oddest things about her friend Wallace in that detective database... She's SO ahead of Nancy Drew...

I gotta say Weevil is always my favorite part of the story and I want more of him. In the story. I was disappointed in Logan - I thought last week that he was basically a good kid etc...but now I think that whole crowd are corrupt through and through... I haven't trusted Troy from the beginning - but I was surprised that he's GONE - I didn't know they were going to say adios to him so early. I agree with you Rae - I don't see how Veronica could be expected to be all that welcoming to her dad's new girlfriend when she doesn't even know where her mom is or why she left, etc. Plus, I think she was really very courteous and adult with them both. She wasn't rude - she couldn't be expected to jump for joy. This show is kinda grim. But I'm sucked in. But she has done quite a turn-around from the previouslies quote: "The hero is the one who stays, the villain is the one who leaves" (paraphrasing). Now that she suspects that her mother was scared and somehow trying to protect her. No wonder the dad is confused. Grim--yeah, each ep seems to have a few really "adult" moments so you wouldn't want a young teen watching it. (speaking of sticking a baseball bat....) Allie watched with me tho and she's usually pretty picky about her TV choices--esp if they "cross the line" of good taste. I just think the character and actress are such a good match that she (Veronica) is very compelling.

I missed alot of tonight's ep. I missed that V had sent out phones. She must have access to a lot of money to be able to do stuff like that. I was so sad for her dad and the girlfriend. They had something special. It does seem like dad is ready to move on, tho. But he doesn't have all the facts yet, either. He thinks she abandoned them. I don't understand why Veronica wouldn't share the photos (from the safely deposit box) with him.

Lola Does the dance of "all those Joss years have taught me to spot the he's too good to be true guy". Um. It's a rather complicated dance. especially when we haven't been introduced to one true good guy yet except Wallace, who's been neatly put into 'friend' category.

And that scene in the restaurant and then that dim little birthday party....where's the hope? She and her dad still talk. They still love each other. Maybe the mom still loves them both too. The real murderer will be found. It's good that Troy (the sleaze) is gone. Veronica seems to have a really well developed moral sense. And there's always Wallace. (But no sign of Georgia) And...I miss Inga!
