Kudos, Patti! So, do you think that Veronica's mom was having an affair with the elder Kane? I can't decide. First I think that, and then I wonder if maybe they were involved in some kind of shady business thing and that's why she ran. Lola

No sign of Georgia, but the teacher showed up again, so there's some hope - that some of these are continuing characters. Ms. Dent is listed in the opening credits.

Rob Thomas' IMDB: www.imdb.com/name/nm0859432/I'm not sure about the Joss thing. Maybe googling will find an article in which he talks about writers he likes/follows. I liked both Cupid and The Education of Max Bickford.

I gotta say Weevil is always my favorite part of the story and I want more of him. In the story. I was disappointed in Logan - I thought last week that he was basically a good kid etc...but now I think that whole crowd are corrupt through and through... I haven't trusted Troy from the beginning - but I was surprised that he's GONE - I didn't know they were going to say adios to him so early. I agree with you Rae - I don't see how Veronica could be expected to be all that welcoming to her dad's new girlfriend when she doesn't even know where her mom is or why she left, etc. Plus, I think she was really very courteous and adult with them both. She wasn't rude - she couldn't be expected to jump for joy. This show is kinda grim. But I'm sucked in. Oh yeah, I want more of Weevil. In the show, I mean. I was kinda expecting that we'd see Logan slide back again. They were showing him in a kind of nice light last ep, so I wondered if they'd do something to keep us guessing. 'Cuz I think they want us to wonder if he's good guy or bad guy or what. He's multi-layered guy! Lola

Rae! Loved the scene where dad tells the counselor they can't see each other any more and she wishes the excuse were a sucky one so that she could be mad at him. Lola me too...that was really sweet and sad. Nice acting by both of them in that scene.

Lola! Actually, I thought we found out in an earlier episode that they knew Troy. I'm probably imagining it. That's the bad thing about new shows, no transcripts out there I can go check for references. (In my head, I'm hearing some inference that Duncan and Troy knew each other - not sure if I'm imagining that or not.) I think maybe I assumed they knew each other from the way they joked with Troy in the earlier episodes and how comfortable Troy was in their cars, etc. None of those earlier scenes had a very 'new guy in town' vibe to them but I can't go back and rewatch (I haven't taped these episodes) to see if I'd take it the same way the second time around. The credit card ep (#2?). Beach party at the beginning. Troy is in Duncan's car. Duncan takes him to introduce around. Paris Hilton recognizes him from hanging out at the yacht club. Troy's dad is an architect and they move around for his jobs. (But they seem to have a home locally so he's been in town before and now again.)

I thought so a couple episodes ago - now with these pictures of Veronica with her head circled - like her mom was being threatened with Veronica's death if she didn't leave....I think its much more serious than 'just' an affair - life or death serious. I think maybe she knew who killed Lily...? At least as Matthew said about somthign - that's my theory this week. I forgot about the theory that she knows something about the killer. That would really fit with the threatening photos! Or maybe it was, get the sherrif to stop trying to arrest Mr Kane or your daughter gets it . . . Lola

I can sorta know which page the info is on, but it's in another language...

I can't decide. First I think that, and then I wonder if maybe they were involved in some kind of shady business thing and that's why she ran. Lola Veronica had the long hair, but were the pics taken before or after Lilly's death? Why would Veronica be threatened before Lilly's death and the sheriff's involvement. She said her mother tried to get her to leave school and then disappeared three days later. Clearly there was some (moderately extended) period of time after the death (investigation, Mars kicked out of office, family financial slide downhill, mom starts to drink) but before mom left. I'm guessing both the photos (implied threats) and the disappearance have to do with Lilly's murder. Ms. Mars knows something. Now, is Jake Kent paying her off (which is way easier than threatening Veronica) or is he trying to buy information from her? Has Veronica ever said, "my mom disappeared xxx months ago?"

But he doesn't have all the facts yet, either. He thinks she abandoned them. I don't understand why Veronica wouldn't share the photos (from the safely deposit box) with him. I have hopes that she might talk to him later. I mean, she did that before when she followed Mr. Kane. First she hid it from her dad, but then she told him about it. Of course, she might be wondering how much her dad already knows that he is keeping from her. Lola

I'm gonna have to go too. Watching Jon Stewart together is hubby bonding time.
But I have to say---I'm loving having this thread! I can come back tomorrow and reply to whatever else you discuss. (And, okay I'm weird, I love having the pages 1,2,3,4,5 pile up on the front page.)
I suspect the LOST thread will fill up really fast!
