Well, there's Wallace. Surely he's hope? He had Troy's number. Plus - The drug dealer getting caught... 'cuz that'd never happen in real life so that's a lil' hope thrown in there with the dark stuff. yes, Wallace asked the right question, that's for sure. Maybe Veronica will learn to listen to him as more than just a 'gofer' guy.

I'm thinking like $50 - but they might be less. I say no less than $20 though which means she had at least $200 worth of phones. Of course her dad probably has connections for these kind of resources as part of the PI biz. I can see this detective catalog....disposable phones, fake noses, semi-catholic school girl outfits...*grin*

**nods muchly about the Veronica and Keith pain** Man, some of the voice overs by Veronica - so bitter, so young! The line about how being abandoned by your mom right after your best friend has been murdered. And then when she breaks down and is crying and tells her dad that he does this for a living and should be able to find her mom and bring her back? Man! Lola **ouch, ouch, I should remember that playing with my very feisty kitty can be dangerous, ow, ow, claws in my leg ow!** the pain will distract you from the other pain...

Hit you finger with a hammer, but it doesn't matter once you cut it off. Crossing fingers for a "happy ending" What do we know about this Rob Thomas guy, is he a Joss-disciple?

I knew that boy wasn't to be trusted. Nice how the throw away line last week about Troy having rented a hotel room was the foundation for not trust Troy this week. When he kept pushing her to 'celebrate' his last few days there, I knew he was up to something and I might not have suspected that if I hadn't known about the hotel room. I'm still confused why Logan wasn't giving him a hard time about seeing Veronica in the beginning of the episode... unless Logan knew the truth about Troy. They all did seem to accept Troy easily (and didn't they know him from when he was younger?) so it's possible that they did know the truth and that's why they didn't weren't trying to convince him not to be with V. Of course that would make me even annoyed with those guys just when I was warming up to them. I feel bad for the counselor and the Dad but I don't know if I could handle my Dad dating someone if my Mom was still out there somewhere and they were not divorced. I think this is my favorite episode so far. It was a good mix of mystery of the week and the overall mystery. Plus, I got to see V riding behind Weevil! Rae! I was really wondering how Troy and Logan and steroid guy knew each other too. Can't remember if they actually told us or not when Troy was introduced. And I can't decide if the whole thing had more of a "known each other since we were kids" or "we all swim in the same rich kid social circle" vibe. But I lean toward the known him when they were all younger thing. I would suspect that Logan knew at least a bit about Troy, but was just being very "not my problem" about it. Or maybe even enjoying the idea of Veronica being hurt. (I like Logan, but he's quite the brat and mean guy sometimes.) Loved the scene where dad tells the counselor they can't see each other any more and she wishes the excuse were a sucky one so that she could be mad at him. Lola

Grim--yeah, each ep seems to have a few really "adult" moments so you wouldn't want a young teen watching it. (speaking of sticking a baseball bat....) that shocked me. I wasn't expecting that.

especially when we haven't been introduced to one true good guy yet except Wallace, who's been neatly put into 'friend' category. Well, Duncan may not be bad--just confused and medicated and in pain. Logan--hmm. Yeah, he's pretty gray--knew there were drugs and didn't give a rip. But, at least he's honest with Veronica--he's not over the past and he's not going to pretend that he is.

Yay Weevil and the bike and that whole part of the plot. Him and V. work well together. I like it! ;D Lola

But he doesn't have all the facts yet, either. He thinks she abandoned them. I don't understand why Veronica wouldn't share the photos (from the safely deposit box) with him. because the problem is always not sharing? We learned that on Buffy.. *grin*

She and her dad still talk. They still love each other. Maybe the mom still loves them both too. The real murderer will be found. It's good that Troy (the sleaze) is gone. Veronica seems to have a really well developed moral sense. And there's always Wallace. (But no sign of Georgia) And...I miss Inga! No sign of Georgia, but the teacher showed up again, so there's some hope - that some of these are continuing characters.

Loved the scene where dad tells the counselor they can't see each other any more and she wishes the excuse were a sucky one so that she could be mad at him. Lola Lola! Actually, I thought we found out in an earlier episode that they knew Troy. I'm probably imagining it. That's the bad thing about new shows, no transcripts out there I can go check for references. (In my head, I'm hearing some inference that Duncan and Troy knew each other - not sure if I'm imagining that or not.) I think maybe I assumed they knew each other from the way they joked with Troy in the earlier episodes and how comfortable Troy was in their cars, etc. None of those earlier scenes had a very 'new guy in town' vibe to them but I can't go back and rewatch (I haven't taped these episodes) to see if I'd take it the same way the second time around.

I was so hoping Troy was one of the good ones. I totally bought his teary eyed explanation there near the end. At least he isn't a murderer. (I hope, I hope, I hope.) So,at the end, I assume Veronica didn't get her mom's message because that was on speaker? Cool how she took that dealer's picture. doh. Oh, yeah, and the smile and her voice when she said something like "you're really gonna regret you said that". Although, I also liked how we saw that stuff doesn't always work for her. The problem in getting the car alarm thing turned on at first and so on. Lola
