Great review, Spring, as always.
It's probably already been mentioned, but the Hitchcock movie "Rear Window" is the one where the neighbor solves the crime. The husband kills his wife and cuts her up. Then he puts the body pieces in suitcases and takes her away. I kept thinking of that when Andre's model friend was leaving. Did you notice how Keith Mars was eyeing those suitcases?
I'm with you on the parentage speculations. But, I wouldn't have put it past Mrs. Kane to have told Duncan that he and Veronica were half-siblings.

Hey Rob, Actually that was the one thing I was looking for this morning. To see if anyone mentioned her discovery and comments on Sara's (?) rape. I thought that was a huge mention and extremely significant. (Curious to see if Spring mentions it.) Veronica's narration very blandly comments on how Sara had been raped-- and didn't "handle it well", but got no counseling or emotional help, drifted apart from her friends, etc. (should go back and get the exact comments). I thought it was very specific and relevant to Veronica's own situation and was intended as a direct reminder to the viewer that this has not yet been dealt with--either in the show or by Veronica herself and fallout WILL be occuring eventually.. Opps, gotta run. Jim getting ready for a trip and stuff to do to get him out of the house. ITA

Love the "noir" observation. Even the way Keith was dressed at the end, in dark clothing and all . . . I loved the scene of Veronica seeing him standing there after he took his shot. Just a nice episode all around. Good on the clever writing/funny lines, especially Logan's lines: "Anthropomorphic!" "Please let it be High School English teacher!" etc. That actor is a total unknown to me - whoever he is, he is doing a great job in the role. Also loved the actor doing "Mr Daniels" - just right. And his car! I once worked as a "lunch lady" at a HS in a really ritzy neighborhood. All the students had better cars than the teachers and staff. (I was driving a Pinto at the time.) The English teacher was on X-Files. He was one of Mulder's creepy government sources.

Great review, Spring, as always. Many thanks, Nicki. Yes - I thought exactly the same thing when I saw those big suitcases! I do not understand the super-low opinions of Mrs Kane. We've seen her be good to Duncan (she was nicer than Jake at the dinner table that time), be nasty once to Lilly when Lilly was smarting off, and she's given us indications that she's at least somewhat class-conscious. Making up that kind of wild, hurtful lie is just so very nasty and really - in my mind - totally psycho. I've seen nothing to indicate that level of nasty or insanity. Not that it might not be there, but - she lost her temper with Lilly, and there's indications there were strains and issues between her and her teenage daughter (not exactly uncommon) and she seemed uncomfortable with the "less than traditionally dignified video" that Logan made. That's it on my list of negatives for Mrs Kane.

Plus, I think we’ve all learned our lesson about underestimating the size of Logan’s cajones. ;D Actually, we haven't. LOLOL But we can make some conjectures from the family: Logan's father is very rich and can afford ample "cajones" (i.e. "large boxes", "chests"/"chests of drawers") to store all of Logan's wardrobe. Sorry, still laughing myself silly at the imagery - if you know Spanish. We just had a conversation at work yesterday on the perils of translation software that can't tell context or accidentally create double entendres. In this case it's almost a reverse entendre since the risque meaning got lost in the misspelling! The word you're looking for begins "co-" and is pronounced "coh-". Stiffling myself now; my apologies if I offended. How about those boots on the desk? Daddy's boots? Is he trying to fit in his Daddy's shoes? Kind of ominous if he is, especially when so many abused children follow in the footsteps of their abusers.

Thanks for the info on the "cojones" - will note should I ever have reason to spell that again. I wondered about Logan "stepping into his father's boots" as well. He's already demonstrated his own ability to be insensitive to others, though he's also demonstrated a lot of courage and sensitivity as well. I do think he's at that stage in life where he can still go either way.

What were the rest of you talking about? I know not of this idea of double entendre . . . . **can't keep straight face, begins laughing at self** No offence whatsoever. Heck, I can't spell in English most of the time and I supposedly speak that as a first language. ;D Nice point about the boots. Because we have seen the kinds of things Logan is learning from daddy and they're not good. My first thought when I saw them was to worry if Logan even asked daddy for the boots or if he just took them and was gonna get smacked around for doing so. Lola

I wanted to come back on comment on your Rear Window mention here because I really noticed that parallel when rewatching the episode tonight. The way that Keith kind of sits up more in his seat when he sees the boyfriend putting the bags in the trunk really made me think of a specific scene or two from that flick. I know we've talked about other possible movie connections for other episodes and it really makes me wonder if there are other specific noir or mystery movies that they are referencing here. The one camera shot where we see Keith from the other side of the window that he shot through, for example, was ringing some bells in my memory, but I can't place them to a specific source. Lola This was a nice one for them to re-run. A really good ep.

So am I. And Eli and Lilly - I think they had a "thing". Then they got married and built a massive pharmaceutical company. Ok, maybe not so funny. Had to give it a shot. ;D #rofl1#
