I think Spike took back the duster because he looks damn good in it and it sways so cool when he's doing that cat stalk thing.

Yeah, Spike's not some whining poofster with nancy boy hair gel! He's a MANLY MAN souled vampire! Rrrruufff! (Dru impersonation)
I loved the 'not much for self reflection' line by the way.

Vlad, I'll certainly be glad to post Kim and I'm sure she'd help, but
(a) you certainly can do that yourself (if you want to): just go to the yellow "contact" bar, top of the screen, and write a post. It will go to ScoopMe editors, but you can address Kim in the text, as I always do.
(b) If I'm to post Kim, I need to know exactly what to say. Tell me [with brackets instead of arrow keys] what the image screen command should be, as opposed to what it is, so I can tell them what to do.
I just posted Kim saying WHEE about the link on Hunter's review page, so it's no big deal to post her again.
If you want me to, tell me and I'll do it. It's plain we (collectively) are in good odor with TPTB of ScoopMe, so I'm sure they'd be glad to give us an editorial helping hand with this.

It's the mirror problem, of course. Few vampires are self reflective in any way, shape or form.

Here's what I posted...
I'd like to see Xander putting up black out curtains in Buffy's bedroom and the Potentials moving into the basement.

Anybody who wants to be a S'cubie IS one, I figure. No cover, no entry fee, just posting here on a regular basis. But if a nomination is needed (waving hand madly), I'm one. I nominate Sue to be an "official" S'cubie, assuming she wants to actually join this bunch of erudite wierdos.
Sue, d'y wanna have the dubious honor of being declared a S'cubie?

Real life has been busy and hectic as of late. Nothing bad, jsut full. I know I have been slipping in my duties as your resident Technopagan (and I don't even wanna know my current TA status *wink*).
Anyway, this post is covering a multitude of sins...errr...lapses. Nan...your "fighter" essay/posts is (are?) wonderful. I received your "final" revision in the S'cubie Mailbag today. I am going to try to piece what you had to say and the other folks posts also into some sort of coherent mess that everyone will like..or at least be able to follow. *L*
Secondly, I agree with the the idea of having an essay area. We already have an "important posts, don't miss them" area in the form of Selections From A Very Special ScoopMe!. Perhaps that needs revamped (pardon the pun). But I say wholeheartedly YES to having an essay area. When this whole Soulful Spike Society thing got started, I hadn't quite looked into the future to realize what it may become. I remember when Spring announced her intention to me to write "spikecentric" analyses of the episodes, I thought to myself "Hmmm...yeah..okay...sure, go ahead..contribute. It will fill some space and help us get off the ground." I had NO IDEA she would be writing the kind of thoughtful, insightful, quality pieces of work that she has consistantly done. None what-so-ever. Might I make notice that she has covered a WHOLE season now! In something like a month and a half? Spring truly helped the S'cubies find their voice, their style, their meaning. Her essays really helped set the tone for the S3 site as being more than just fluff and sexy pics (not that there is anything wrong with fluffy sexy pics! *L*).
And of course Spring isn't the only one. Robert, I think you have to admit that you are finding your voice as a writer. You too Rusty. Your later chapters are truly becoming something to behold. And mentioning our two most prolific writers is not meant as a slight to all the other S'cubies who are frequently doing some really great things a little more under the radar. There isn't a single person listed in our email list or on the VHISN roster that isn't consistantly providing something positive to our group. And mind you, without including anything negative. I find this amazing!
In the course of editing this site together for you guys, my respect has grown and grown for each and everyone of you. I feel like it's brought out the best in us all. Each of us have talents that have come to the fore and it's like we are all hitting on all our cylinders. Together as a group we are better than what we were before. We are all learning and more importantly we are all cooperating. Look at the car wreck that is the Episodes board. I know it's not a completely fair comparison, but can you imagine that mess creating something like we have? I know it's not the "intent" of that board, but still, it stands out to me, how as individuals, we HAVE come together to form a group. *L* Maybe Buffy needs to take a few pointers from us.

Three words:
SMALLER CLASS SIZE
I think part of why we've coalesced into an actual group here is
(a) we're determined to get along, and those who dropped out when miffed are now long gone. We remain.
(b) we're willing to give others the benefit of the doubt and assume ambiguous things were meant kindly, no matter how they sounded.
(c) we post A LOT!
(d) there aren't a whole lot of strangers cluttering the works.
If this board were to go on forever, and we got lots of drop-in traffic, keeping our cohesion as a group could become a problem. I don't know what we're gonna do when Buffy ends. Any suggestions would be appreciated (by me, at least). Do we wave tearfully and disband? Do we find some other Miscellaneous board to convene on? Do we decide, en masse, to follow AtS? I for one would like to keep things going with the S'cubies if that's possible, but it may not be.
Anybody care to voice suggestions or preferences?
Nan

Nan, should you chose to write Kim, the link to our site should look like the following: Soulful Spike SocietyOf course I did as you said and replaced the arrow keys with brackets in the above example. I figured you would be the best to talk to her (and I am sure that she will easily be able to correct the link for us)since you do have a sort of correspondence going with her. Believe it or not, I am rather shy, and don't have that hutzpah like you to "insist" that she fix it for us. I would meekly ask and then upon receiving "sorry, but no" would slink away, never to darken her doorstep again. Vlad

Sorry to get off-topic but I had to share something with my fellow S'cubies. Note: I would share this with my "real life" (RL) friends but they would just roll their eyes and think to themselves "there goes that crazy Rae again with the Buffy speak". Have any of you ever spotted Buffy character look-a-likes? I was driving home from work today thinking about what songs I would apply to Buffy/Angel characters (ok, see, at this point my RL friends would already be snickering behind their hands at me). I pulled up to a stop-light and I happened to glance over at the SUV beside me. And, I kid you not, the guy driving it was a dead-ringer for Xander! I couldn't get over it. I kept staring at him (so, its official - as even strangers will now be saying it, I am bound to be known around Orlando as that crazy red-headed chick forever!). I live near a CarMax and the guy was test-driving a car and I'll probably never see him again but I wondered if anyone else has ever run into look-a-likes... Ok, seriously, I'll admit it. I really just want to know if anyone else makes fools of themselves ! Now, if it had been a Spike look-a-like... well, I have never stalked anyone before but I can't imagine it'd be too hard to pick up.

If that were to happen, we might want to handle our board and site as Tabula Rasa does. Anyone can view the site and enjoy it, but they have some kind of private posting board, and they have a max on membership to it.
I'm not suggesting this now, just a thought in case the above were to happen.
But with the series ending, traffic WILL drop, I expect.
"I don't know what we're gonna do when Buffy ends. Do we wave tearfully and disband?"
Gosh I HOPE not! I would miss you guys terribly.
"I for one would like to keep things going with the S'cubies if that's possible, but it may not be."
I would too, but without new episodes we'd have to be even more inventive. I'd have to actually WRITE those silly classes, we'd have even more fanfic, Spring's wonderful analysis can go on for 6 more seasons, and best case scenario would be either a Spin-off down the road featuring our vamp of choice or Angel renews and Spike moves over there.
