Gotta say I wasn't too keen on this ep at first. Didn't even remember Troy. However, I loved the scene where V goes all soapy on the wig store lady. The incidental music was just perfect.

Spring, Even tho it's taken me a looooooooong time to comment I read your review right after you posted it and looooooooooooooved! It's one of my favorite reviews this year! ;D I printed it off to read and the last page was on top so I happened to glance at the last paragraph before I'd read the rest of the review and had a serious moment of HUH? before hitting the final sentence. Excellent "gotcha" conclusion! So, then when I went back to the beginning and I loved the way you used the "2 truths and 1 lie" to open the review and then drawing our attention to all of the "threesomes." And how embarrassed am I that the death of Abel's daughter was so long ago that I'd entirely forgotten it? (A definite argument for 2 or 3 shorter arcs!) Hmmmm. Thinking of other threesomes: Veronica-Logan-Hannah Duncan-Veronica-Logan Jackie-Wallace-Jane Cliff-Keith-Lamb And, pointing out all of the lies while also pointing out that maybe something we've seen is a lie---brilliant. (Or something we've assumed. And, now that we've seen 2 additional episodes this looks like it may be very definitely so. (I won't say more since if people come along later who are catching up with the show I don't want to spoil them.)) And, just how brilliant are your observations about the build-up of rage and the parallel results of both implosion and explosion? This is just genius: And, another favorite: To sum up: 1. I loved it. 2. It was brilliant. 3. You're a genius. (3 truths, no lies!)

I am assuming will get back to the body in the ice machine at some point, though I am beginning to wonder. Could Jake & Celeste still be mixed up in all this somehow? There were continual shots of threesomes in the ep. Two people would be there, a third would join. Veronica & Dean are joined by Troy. Veronica & Wallace are joined by Dean. Two frat boys confronting Veronica become three frat boys when a third comes down the stairs. The female Dean & Stacy are talking and they are joined by Veronica. There were several shots of triangles, and someone was wearing a triangle on their t-shirt . . . I wasn't sure what to make of it all. Thank you!!

I don't think they will revisit the death of Abel's daughter.
I believe at the time they concluded that her no-good boyfriend did her in for the money, or after she got him money, or because she didn't have any more money.
Was it left open-ended?

My memory is that it was left open-ended, with boyfriend as suspect. It was so long ago, I can't reallly clearly remember. I did not get the feeling that it was an "open and shut case." But maybe you are right. They haven't referred back to it, so maybe that death has no significance beyond a dramatic occurrence in that episode only.
