Bringing over what I posted to Spoiled Souls last week: Lucky, Gia’s stalker from last season is the TA in Veronica’s Criminology course!!!!!! AAAAAAHHHHH!!! Creep city. OK, well technically, it’s not Lucky, but the same actor, now sporting a goatee and long hair that looks suspiciously like a wig. Oh, I caught that, too! Good make-up job, tho. #metoo# I don't mind the visual so much as I do how they butchered the song. I'm loving the Wallace/Piz pairing. I do think Piz was abit put off at first that Wallace was black, but covered it well. Huh. Good catch. I had no idea that was Dick, but 'duh'. He looked so buff. Because his sandwich is already made? Yup. Ah! Didn't catch that those were Duncan's clothes. I did notice the shirt - and so did Logan, huh? Smarty-pants!! You are probably right here! Yes, we really didn't see who he shot, did we?

Ah, such happiness seeing everyone again! Veronica! Snarking with the dadster! Logan! Vinnie!! Wallace!!!! Yay! Heee - loved the "not piss anyone off this year". Yeah, right. Aaaand in 6 minutes flat, she's broken that idea. "Made any friends?" "Lord, no!" ;D ;D It's good to see the gang again. #xfingers# that there are many more out there that agree.

BSG shoutout! Mac! Grossness from our favorite "dick"! Dude! Mac's roomie - OMG! Saying that Mac is like some cute little puppy she'd like to carry around in her purse?! !? Is the woman on crack? Loved the "want to see a band?" "more than anything in the world" exchange. ;D Woot! Logan and Veronica sexin' it up. And I'm really interested in seeing how this whole thing with Keith helping Kendall and her ex-con sweetie get away from Liam the psycho brother will fall horribly apart. 'Cuz you know it's got to. Good call. I'm interested in seeing if what happened is what we think happened. Interesting that Keith said the money bought his daughter's love. Not sure what he meant by that.

Aaaand in 6 minutes flat, she's broken that idea. "Made any friends?" "Lord, no!" ;D ;D WHY did Keith not check his bag for tracking bugs the second Vinnie played with it? He should know better. Even though Vinnie may actually ride to his rescue because of it. As Vinnie should know better than to hide his bugs in pens with his name on it, but hey, he's Vinnie the Ass-Slapping Hall-and-Oates-Singing-Private Eye, so what can ya expect? And I think (though god knows why) that Kendall's not shotted, but next week will show one way or t'other.

**snicker** Guitar lessons. Pass. Where are you from, Brigadoon? ;D LOVED that!! Captioning says you're right.. *hops up and down squeeing with appreciation of Mac in that section* Logan was... lots more introspective this time, moreso than I've ever seen him. I'm actually kind of impressed.

Fagan?!!!!! He mentors young thieves? Has a ring of them? Gee, where have I heard of this before? Snerk!!! Not just that, (hee) but also the lead singer for Steely Dan: I was thinking it was a really lame pseudonym. Maybe he's one of those bad guys who thinks he's cleverer than the good guys and likes to leave clues for them. ;D

Heeeee! "Are you ready to rock?" "Not particularly." What's the deal with freshman year of college having to have a Parker who's . . . um, not too bright and kinda sexually . . . not too bright? "Parker's out somewhere with the unwashed." What a total dick Dick is being. Smooshing poor Mac's feelings like that. And he's totally trashed. Now, Veroinica on the other hand. Is looking smoking hot, I must say. Wallace and Piz and the girl watching and the totally lame hacky sacking? Comic gold! Who's conning who between Keith and Liam's brother? Ah! A picture of . . . . ? Yes! The mystery not-fat girl. Awwwwwwwwww. Logan and room key and smoochies. Drunk Dick. Actually kind of funny drunk Dick. "How long have we known each other? Where is this going Didi?" And Logan steps in to make sure Dick doesn't get killed. He knows what it is to be lost and drinking and . . . and he looks after his friends, even when he knows them to be total assholes.... that scene at the end was heartbreaking: I actually felt sympathy for Dick Casablancas. After the "beard" comment that he made to Mac, too, the assjack. I feel dirty unwashed.

So the 12 year olds were the gang, that he met while mentoring their little juvie asses. Huh. Pretty ballsy of him to just try and sell the guitar like that. Why no answer to the boyfriend question, V? Hmmmmm? The Keith and Kendall and Cormac thing just has to all end in tears, this is looking too . . . cosy. Heeeee! Suggestion box and tip jar. And V saying "frak" ;D Vinnies pen - run Keith and eeeeeeep! Shooting! Oh, that's not good. Not good at all. So, the mysteries are gonna be the rapist and the whole Cormac and Liam and Kendall and Keith thing. If they have Keith die, I'll be very very very sad. Veronica is cute, all giggly and tipsy on Irish coffee. "And they served me! Boo ya!" Ah. Parker is a vic now. And Dick comes to live with Logan. I knew that was gonna happen from the moment he said he didn't have a place to live to Didi. He looks sooooooo messed up. Extremely extremely messed up, and as... lost as his brother was, almost, before he jumped. I still think that he's trying too hard: whereas Cassidy had been shattered by being abused, I think Dick is just... gay as gay can be, and is in denial about it all over the place. Regarding the red: Wonder if V has a naked mole rat statuete anywhere around her house?

Ladies and Gentlemen - presenting Oh please God let us keep the Gilmore Girls ratings Veronica Mars Lite.
So it started with the snark and I applaud VM for thinking outside the box to solve the mystery. Yes she was little snarky and snotty about it but then that's Veronica.
Note to Rob - I know you are loyal to certain actors but Lucky in a terrible wig? Oh please. What is the point?
I for one love the new credits. Very noir and prominent placement of Logan in the sliding pics. Love the way Michael slides into Francis - I liked them. And after listening a few times the remix works for me.
I do think we are getting an emotionally closed Vernonica (she is the man in the relationship, Logan is the woman), we get a sex scene with no cuddling or touching - just comments on Logan's prowess (to my mind this scene was so obviously written by a man. There is only one woman on the writing staff this year at VM - Diane Ruggerio and this scene was all a man's idea about post sex - lie back and rejoice in your prowess).
Logan, overall, was presented in a very subdued way. We are given indications all is not right - not going to classes, but not much else last night.
LoVe moments - the key scene - far more than the sex scene was terrific. Logan at his most sincere and Veronica for once unable to quip.
But at least there are hints of snarky Logan with the comment about Piz's Duncan shirt. Hee, hee.
The standout shining star last night was Dick. Obviously he is being thrown out as red herring number 1 in the campus rampist tale. Look at the clues - I messed up, he's in the woman's dorm yelling for Parker for everyone to see, and he's a messed up drunk.
Dick has Logan's storyline from last year. The messed up innocent.
Loved the final scene where Logan comforts Dick. I love Logan. So much love.
Hee on the frak! Hee on Irish coffee drunk Veronica.
I liked Veronica walking in on the rape, this obviously provides the personal hook that makes this case important to her.
As for the newbies:
Piz: What I don't like - he is obviously being set up as a potential love interest for Veronica. Why oh why do showrunners feel the need to do triangles? Gah. He did okay, geeky with a side of sweet. Loved the scene at the sunbathing between him and Wallace and the lame hacky sacking. His lame joke when meeting Wallace, the smoothing of the hair, etc. I'm going to adopt a wait and see on his character. I would have preferred less screen time for him and more for Logan however.
Parker: I really liked her. She reminded me of Audrey from Dawson's Creek with her exuberant personality. I hope the message wasn't given that Parker was sort of slutty and thus this equals more likely to be raped. I hope that's not the message. Because I really like her and all her lines.
As for the mystery - pretty easy. As soon as you hear the name Fagin you know he's the culprit. Still it needed to be light and uncomlicated.
What didn't work: I'm sorry Keith's storyline was boring and dragged down the pace of the show. Yes it was completely noir - unlike the Veronica goes to college scenes- but new viewers will have no clue what these scenes were all about. And I for one will be sad to see Kendall dead.
If she is - who knows? It's not like we saw her killed. But Keith - if Vinnie is in your office and fooling with your stuff you automatically check your office for bugs. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
So overall - a nice episode. Far better than Normal is the watchword not anywhere near the awesomeness that was the pilot.
I'm just glad to have them back. I missed you guys! (hee - I wrote a novel)

OK, well technically, it’s not Lucky, but the same actor, now sporting a goatee and long hair that looks suspiciously like a wig. Whoa, I didn't notice that! I mean, I noticed that the guy looked . . . off. But, actually, I kept thinking he was a woman playing a guy. Which is an interesting thing that I thought that . . . I actually liked the visuals, the song change perhaps not so much. Makes it (perhaps) a bit more house/techno, but not as rockin'. Wallace looked to be enjoying himself, didn't he? And so . . . quintessentially Wallace. The moment he knew Piz was in trouble, he jumped right to "I know someone who can help", so real and truly just wanting to help this new guy. #smirk# ;D Awwwww! Yeah, I knew Logan would take him in. But the actual scene at the end, where Dick was sooo messed up and crying. Actually moved me more on Dick's behalf than I would have thought. Ah, yes. Interesting, yes? I noted that at the time and then forgot to comment. Loved those lines! Oooh, good thoughts! The end had me very scared for Keith.

Piz is cute. Frak is the profanity of the future. LOL! Dick! Nice flag. OMG!! He's been working out. (I'd say dibs, but too squicky.) Liam's brother. I don't remember him. That was money in the briefcase that Kendall had. Lots and lots of money. Parker likes to change her top a lot. ("Parker" - vague Buffy reference?) Mac doesn't look amused. ;D Loved the "frak" scene, and then Veronica saying it near the end of the ep? Priceless! Mac being not amused is too wonderful.

Even weirder when you consider that the guy who played Parker on Buffy was in Season 1 of VM ("The Girl Next Door"). It's such a small little incestuous TV world, isn't it?

WTF!! Kendall. Keith!! Vinnie to the rescue, I hope? He can't be in on this. I guess we're going to see a bit more of the Liam and his family this season. Blood is thicker and all that. Poor Kendall. Dick, Dick, Dick. What did you do? I got to give Logan credit for sticking by his friend no matter what kind of ass he makes of himself. I really hope that Vinnie does come to the rescue or send someone to the rescue. Much credit to Logan for stepping in and stepping up when he is really needed. Because Dick is, well, the guy is drowning. I just hope he doesn't continue to drown and take Logan with him.
