Patti - I see my name on that list of Houston convention goers. I was just joking around about coming to your house to share a couch or shower with James. I have not decided to come to this convention. Right now, I can't even remember when it is - I am blanking out on it . . . something about it being far off, right? So it could change, but for now, put me on the non-attendee list.
Also, IF I do make it to the convention, I must add, how do you figure that telling me that gaseous DB story is a fair exchange for showering with James?? Are you mad? Loco? Pazzo?
If James doesn't come stay at your house, I'm finding out where he is and waiting for him in his shower anyhow. That'll show you.

Patti says: "Pure guessing, but I'm thinking he's working desperately to get his email uncrashed and sort through the tons of web work . . ."
Now you are making me feel guilty(ier).

I'm sure I helped constipate Vlad's e-mail, Spring, by sending him TWO "chapters"/parts rather than one. They are fairly big puppies, six single spaced pages each, so I am entitled to my share in the guilt.
You must give me some of yours immediately.

Having said that, I have two Triangles chapters in the can that his email can't accept right now.
All five of my fans will NOT be happy to hear that. LOL
Seriously, Vlad is probably busy. I'm perfectly happy holding on to my chapters until he is good and ready.

Well speaking for myself, *I* apologized because despite the fact that as you said, obviously the illness I suffered wasn't my fault, it still:
1. Caused my brand-new friends some major inconvenience (i.e., standing in line for me, driving me to the hospital, possibly jeopardizing their own enjoyment of the con by slowing them down, plus having some gawkers wonder "what in the hell's going on" not that it would've been anyone's business). It was bad enough that my illness put a damper on my own fun, let alone that of others.
2. Was embarrasing. Sometimes when someone faints at a concert like I did, people often tend to categorize it as either being (a) too damn excited over the object of adoration (in this case, James) for his or her own good (in the pro wrestling world, we call it "marking out") or (b) drunk or doped up. People don't always think something may be involuntarily wrong like illness unless you're a very old person (which I'm not yet) or unless you're in their close proximity to see what really happened. Since (b) has never been a part of my life, and (a) COULD have been possible had I maybe been a teenager, I nonetheless feared that's what some may have thought was wrong with me (possibly including James), therefore concluding that I'd made a fool out of myself.
3. Also was embarrasing in that even though dozens, if not hundreds, of other fans rushed the stage throughout the evening, I was *still* technically breaking the rules and was afraid of being reprimanded or even tossed out of the theatre!
Now I did NOT apologize to James because *I* was not the one who asked him to come see me. Sure, it MAY have disrupted his schedule and I of COURSE wouldn't voluntarily wish to cause HIM any problems, either. But I figured that being who he was in that setting - i.e., the main star attraction of the entire weekend - he would not have come to see me unless he WANTED to. We all know of his reputation for being so fan-friendly, but still, he should not be taken advantage of. I don't think he was, and I don't think HE felt he was.
However, I was still SO very grateful, knowing what pressure he must've been under with, as I'd said, all sorts of people pulling him in several different directions, demanding his time on likely a very tight schedule. So that's why I so profusely thanked him, knowing that even just a few minutes' of unscheduled time could have potentially thrown the whole night off for him. My gawd... the organizers just tried to squeeze SO much out of him; they repeatedly beat into our heads in the autograph and photo lines, "Don't talk to the celebs; save it for the Q&A's (yeah - like all hundreds of us would get to ask one quick question)" and "Don't request a personalized autograph!" It wasn't because the celebs didn't want to - Danny Strong and Tom Lenk personalized mine anyway (so, N'YAH!), and Andy Hallett was stopped from doing that at the Cleveland Con according to Patti - but because the organizers wanted to cram as many people in as possible and therefore make more $$!
Anyway, I hope that explains a little bit of it from my perspective. Also, remember too that not everyone is necessarily compassionate to sick people. My ex-husband was livid with me when I asked him to take me to the hospital after horrific stomach cramps and vomiting for nearly 9 hours straight. Why? Because it would've made him late for work! So he speeds there, literally DUMPS me off outside the ER entrance, fully convinced that I was simply being a hypochondriac. He thought that anytime I complained of any illness I was just being a hypochodriac and therefore showed me no sympathy whatsoever... until that night he later learned I'd been admitted and was scheduled for emergency gall bladder surgery the following morning - then he showed up in tears. Uh-huh.

Betsy, your secret is safe with me because I'm a not-so-closet fan of such music as well! Good for you, though! That instrument you mentioned IS good for lifting the spirits!
Oh - and glad you loved the con story!

Patti said: "I'm swearing off spoilers! It will be easier because my main 'pusher' was Spoiler Slayer and that site doesn't do Angel spoilers. Even the spoiler slayer person stays unspoiled for Angel!"
Well the problem I have is I know exactly where to go Angel's Acolyte. It will be hard for me to stay away, but I'm gonna do my darndest.
Even gonna try and stay away from the wildfeed for Buffy on Tuesday. Even though I'm fairly spoiled on the last episode, don't want to ready the play by play.

... Another french.
I started watching btvs with 'french voices'. I think it was Watergale who mentioned the kind of experience it is : strange. But at the time I was young and innocent (nearly no internet, kazaa, message board... and french tv !) so it was not so bad. All that to say that I have always liked the character of Spike but after hearing the british accent I was lost (and yes Giles too !).
The few australians and new zelanders (sp ?) I know, also have lovely accents... and now I hope I didn't make a big diplomatic blunder by comparing australians and new zelanders.
Goodnight and/or good day

You didn't make a blunder comparing Australian and New Zealand accents. To me they sound totally different, but then to me there are different types of Australian accents (e.g. Queensland versus Tasmanian). I hardly expect non-Australians to pick up the difference. I don't even hope for the rest of the English-speaking world to notice (or care) about the different accents. (Although Australians DO get a huge kick out of the fact that New Zealanders say 'sex' instead of 'six'.)
Excuse my ignorance, but what is the time difference between you and the ScoopMe board? Can I expect you to keep seeming vampire hours like me?

At the moment I am totally spoilt for BtVS, but not for Angel. I subscribe to SpoilerSlayer, read the wildfeeds and reviews as well as reading what you guys have to say on the boards. I can honestly say I don't know what I will do next season for Angel. I became addicted to the spoilers because I wanted to find out if/when Buffy and Spike got together. I had no idea I would have to wait until episode 22 to see how that played out (please note I am not saying either way if it does play out or not).
I feel I have seriously undermined my enjoyment of BtVS by being so spoilt, even though my memory is so bad I usually can't even remeber the title let alone the events when I actually view it months later. My problem is what do I do next season? If I'm not spoilt I won't be able to go to the S'Cubie board.
A clear temptation is before me: enjoy the surprise or enjoy the S'Cubie discussion. Luckily I have a few months to consider my decision.
PLease note that downloading the episode, like the French girls, a few days later is probably not an option. I tried to download from the link that Gaya recommended and I was told that it would take about 14 hours. God knows how long an Angel epsiode would take, but I know I would not have the time and probably not have the down-load capacity(?) to do it.

Which gives us an very good idea why he's your EX-husband. I had one of those.

I was totally spoiled throughout this season, I remain true to my idea that you hurt yourself less by reading about what will happen before you see it.
But because tomorrow night is the last, and because I'll be at Patti's where we can support each other, I'm swearig off them this time, even my beloved Leoff.
No promises about next year.
