All your points are very well taken. As I said before, I will always love and be grateful to Sarah for everything she's done for us.
You're right, of course; there are a ton of stories that show a positive side to her personality. There are stories of she and Freddie taking Michelle Trachtenberg bowling, for example. Sarah and Alyson were both well known for protecting her on the set, probably because of their shared child star status.
Do I blame Sarah for the show ending? Of course not. She's worked incredibly hard on BTVS, and I honestly believe she's tired. I'll put aside Freddie's remarks that she wasn't shown enough gratitude because I imagine that was supposed to be a private conversation between husband and wife and he talked a little too much out of protectiveness. Not that Sarah needs to be protected by anyone, by the way...but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
There is no one to blame, in my opinion. Only people to thank. My whole point for bringing this up was deeply wishing that it hadn't come up at all. I guess I'm as guilty as everyone else for perpetuating the story.
I just wish there had been no negative feelings from any side. Probably too much to ask for, I suppose.

This isn't a Charlize Theron joke, is it?

I went there Diane, fully intending to share, then read your entry, sobbed awhile, and went away. You pretty much covered it.
But when I've given it some time, I'm sure I'll put my 2 cents in anyway.

James G. said: 'Not sure if anyone has ever seen "She," but there is a scene where Angel imagines dancing after a beautiful woman asks him to dance, and he looks like a fool.'
That is one of my all time favorite moments on Angel. Probably #2 after Spike's rooftop imitation of Angel in 'In the Dark'.

This is something I realized I could do (not that I DO it, you understand) - you can click open all the posts on a page, then go to 'Edit' on the browser, then 'find' and type in your name. If someone mentioned you, it'll take you there. That way, if you're behind, you can be sure not to miss anyone's post to you, without having to read them all.

It's hard to choose between sharing a room with Diane at the hotel or whooping it up at a slumber party with everyone at Patti's. But even though I lived only half and hour away from the site of the Chicago convention I still found it more convenient to share Kathy and Sam's hotel room. So I'm leaning towards the hotel room option, although finances might sway me in the end.
I have very dear (albeit out of touch for a while friends) outside of Houston in Tomball TX as well. I know I will want to make time to see them on that trip so it will probably mean staying over an extra day or two. I kinda hope that the convention will be any time other than April or May, as those are definitely my busiest times of the year at work. But regardless of when, I'm there. Not only the attraction of seeing JM and GOTR again but at an event where I'll be able to enjoy the experience with a number of my fellow S'cubies will we well worth any inconvenience. I hope a lot more people decide to along too.

Good news for those (like me) who keep checking James' official website (Jamesmarsters.com) wishing the thing was up to date! (the bio still reads like its fourth season Buffy...)
The top of the site says a new personalized James site is being designed and there are 3 sample video clips one can view. Two are nice clips of James singing in GOTR (Valerie and Smile) the other is a clip from James' appearance on Craig Kilborne. NOT the recent appearance, a previous one, because James is wearing a white tee and is doing accents for Craig! It's really cool. He does a DIFFERENT Brit accent, a Russian one, and a French one. Go check it out! (it uses RealVideo player)

Diane, it was a beautiful tribute. I can't think of anything else to say except maybe "What am I going to watch on Tuesdays now? Waahh (dissolves into snivels)".
Good morning everyone else - looks like you had quite an evening again.
Gotta go let out cats (or let in cats) - they're playing musical doors this morning.

This is cool. FX is interrupting its reruns of Season 4 episodes to air "Welcome to the Hellmouth" and "The Harvest" tomorrow evening, right before the (sob) finale on UPN. Tonight: "Beer Bad". Yeah, I'll be going to the gym instead...

Nan, before I could let myself go clean house, I had to read your latest two chapters 16 and 17 (note for others: I get them by email, they aren't on the site yet, Nan will send them to you if you want her to.)
So I'm reading Chapter 16 and its that moment when Amanda rises to her feet after Dawn's talked to them? You know? And I'm sitting there with this thrill running up and down my spine thinking 'I'm a Nan minion, I'm a Nan minion...'
Just wanted you to know...

Hello Betsy. Please tell us what has become of the baby bird found in your garage. In wildlife rehabilitation circles this is what is known as baby season. I don't know where you live but if you call your local Animal Control facility they should be able to refer to you to a wildlife rehabilitation center or privately licensed rehabilitator in your area. Also, here is a link to the website of the Wildlife Rehabilitation Information Directory which you may find helpful: www.tc.umn.edu/~devo0028/Betsy, it is perfectly normal for many older baby birds to leave the nest before they are quite fledged, or flight capable. The parent(s) hear them cry and will continue to care for them by periodically delivering food. If it's an itty-bitty baby bird, naked or still downy, then yes, you should pick it up, try to find the nest it fell from and return it there if at all possible. This is by far the best solution. (Contrary to popular belief most birds have little or no sense of smell so the parent will NOT pick up your sent on the chick and reject it.) In the case of an older chick (one that has it's flight feathers although it may still have some downy feathers as well) it is best not disturb it unless it is in immediate danger, in which case it is best to move it out of danger but keep it as close to where you found it as possible. Retreat to a safe distance where you can keep an eye on it unobserved and watch for the parent to return to the chick. If, after a few hours you have seen no sign of the parent and you cannont find the nest from which it came, call your local wildlife rehab center for further instructions. They will probably request that you place the chick in a warm, dry, dark container; e.g., a cardboard box or even a little brown paper bag, (for a very young chick you can place it in a strawberry basket or similar lined with tissues or paper towels before putting it in the dark container), refrain from trying to feed it or give it any water and get it to the rehaber ASAP. They can identify the species, evaluate its condition, rehydrate it if necessary (it usually is) and only then provide it with a nutritionally appropriate diet. They also will likely have conspecifics of a similar age group to place it with which is highly benificial for its socialization and subsequent release. I guess the most important things to remember are these: 1) Do not *rescue* a baby bird unless you are absolutely certain it needs rescue. Wildlife Rehabilitation Centers are full of orphaned birds whose parents would have continued to care for them on the ground had not well meaning humans intervened. 2) If it must be rescued then bring it to a professional rather than trying the-do-it yourself approach. 3) Check out the website I referred you to and dismiss anything I just said if it should contradict their instructions. They are the professionals. Now I realize that you may think it unlikely that the bird you found actually came from a nest in your garage but I figure, hey- I've seen occupied nests in the undercarriage of an SUV so I can certainly entertain the notion of one in a garage, as long as there was some way for the parent to get in and out. If it's an older chick it's possible that the nest is nearby outside and that it hopped into the garage and got locked in. Whatever the situation might be I hope you have found someone or some agency that has been able to assist you in assisting this baby bird. Please keep me posted, either on the board or through private Email. My Email address is available through my ScoopMe Profile. deborah
