Apparently, DB is a true clown. Not sure if anyone has ever seen "She," but there is a scene where Angel imagines dancing after a beautiful woman asks him to dance, and he looks like a fool. Anyway, I here DB actually does that sillyness when he goes out. It's nice to see a star who hasn't let it all go to his head.

It really just hit me this morning on the way in to work that tomorrow night is the last Buffy ever. What an empty feeling. It's so funny, but I heard that the show 24 is excellent, so I ordered the DVD's online and couldn't wait until they arrived. I finally received them this week-end, and tore into them, only to realize that I was trying to use them to compensate for Buffy. And it didn't fill the gap (though it is a good series). I need to play It's So Hard to Say Good-Bye, drink and cry!

James, good choice! "24" is indeed a great show. This whole year, it's completed my Tuesday night viewing.
I've been planning to buy the 'Alias' Season One DVDs, when it is released to help fill some of the void. So I understand exactly how you are feeling. I've never seen a single episode of 'Alias' but I think I'd like to start, and there's no place to start like the beginning.

You guys SUCK! (but in a good way, of course) Y'all post too, too much on the weekends - I will never catch up and actually, I have now given up on trying to. If there was anything in these last two parts directly addressed to me and I missed it - I'm sorry. I tried to skim quickly and probably missed something. I hope everyone had a good weekend - from the posting, I can tell certain people enjoyed their weekend very much. Not naming names but you know who you are! Grr, argh....must actually work now! -L

Last night I had this CRAZY dream that I missed the finale of Buffy, my VCR didn't tape it and no one would let me borrow their tape. It was one of those dreams that seem so realistic you could swear it actually happened. I woke up this morning in near hysterics (yep, I'm that cool!). Good thing it was a dream, right? I mean, it's not really Wednesday and what I thought was a dream is really reality? God, please say no!!! OK, calmed down now...can't believe it's less than 36 hours until the finale of Buffy. I will be crying non-stop during the show, I just know it. I can't believe it's over, I can't believe it is really and truly over. No new Buffy. Thank God for Angel! Now I'm seriously depressed. Must go work. -Lee Hollins

"
Well said. Me too.//
Glad you thought so. Since I was specifically thinking of how you'd characterized Buffy's love for Angel when I was trying to describe it.

Athene, We have to keep in touch so you can let me know if Alias is worth the buy. We're all a sad bunch, looking to fill a void which will never be filled! But fear not, Season 4 will be released in a few weeks!

I am so glad you all have been thinking about these behind the scenes stories, too. It's nice to know I'm not the only one fixated on a group of people who I will probably never meet.
My take on the situation is that, despite Joss's protests to the contrary that she should not be blamed, Sarah is the obvious culprit at which to target all of our angst at the end of "Buffy". And what better way to show our feelings than by vilifying her?
Through the years, I've heard the same anonymous source say that she's behaved like a diva on the set. On the Episodes board, someone even compared her unfavorably to Shannen Doherty. And yet with Ms. Doherty, there was MUCH corroboration of bad behavior in the form of police reports for drunk driving, failed marriages, etc. In Sarah's case, the same story seems to be repeated over and over. And now, because of the end of the show, it seems to be sticking.
Why aren't the stories about her offering Amber Benson rides to work or showing up with a cake in the middle of the night when "Angel" started filming given as much weight? Because they don't reinforce the image some people want to believe.
Remember, this is a girl who has been working since she was four years old and was hauled into court as a defendant for "Burger King". She has been a steadfast support for her mother and, despite what must have been a bad marriage, refuses to discuss her late father (instead of doing the popular blaming of whatever failings she might possess on having had a bad parent). She clearly does separate her personal and professional life for good reason.
Do I think there were days of disagreement on the set? In seven years, absolutely. Do I think she should have said something to AH and NB after the EW article? Yes, but the onus of informing them wasn't up to her - for all we know, she was contractually obligated to keep her mouth shut. Do I think she's married to someone who is going to be a personal and professional drag? Remains to be seen but I'm leaning toward the affirmative.
I know I'm running long but I've thinking about this all weekend and I just wanted to get this off my chest. If all of the stories about bad behavior are true, I can still separate Sarah and Buffy. And no matter what happens to the rest of Sarah's life and career, I will always have my Buffy.

Oh, I can answer that one right now. Alias is DEFINITELY worth the buy. It is my third favorite show (guess which are my first two) - the show is absolutely amazing. The actors, the writing, the action - everything is top-notch! JJ Abrams reinvented the show TWICE in less than six months - not many shows can say that (well, ok, NO show can say that!). The first season was more cliff-hanger-y than the second season - not that the second season wasn't, it just wasn't a focus as it was the first season. During the second season, every show didn't end in a cliff-hanger - will Syd live or die? Will Dixon?, etc. The Super Bowl episode still has me scratching my head - it totally turned the show in a new direction. A lot of times when a show undertakes such a radical shift, it usually spells trouble. Not so for Alias! And this season's finale - let's just say everyone I know is still talking about and wondering just what the heck is up. Go out and buy the first season on DVD (or pre-order it, whatever) - you will NOT be disappointed. If you are, I will eat my shoe! -L Edited By Lee Hollins at 5/19/2003 9:55:00 AM.

I got accidently spoiled on the finale a few weeks ago when I read an article about Angel on Slayage. It did have a Spoiler warning but since it was about Angel (of which I've only ever seen a few episodes) I didn't much care. Imagine my shock and dismay when I read a spoiler concerning a character ultimate fate on BtVS. I hate Hercules. That article s/h been tagged with a warning for Spoilers for bothAngel & Buffy.

Diane, Just read your tribute to BTVS. Once I pick myself up from the floor, dry my eyes and can speak somewhat coherently, I will try to post my own message. Diane, what a beautiful tribute to Buffy. Your words eloquently expressed everything that we all feel. Now, I must go dry my eyes and repair my eye makeup. Diane, what a wonderful idea for a Nerd Alert! -Lee Hollins

Rob, the only ones signed so far are James and his band Ghost of the Robot. It will be put on by Vulcon, which put on the convention I went to. There will be other guests, but none of that can be done til they lock down the date, and that also depends on James' schedule. So all we know is Houston - James - band - probably May. Floor space still available at my house, Diane's room at the hotel still open for multiple occupancy.

Spring said: 'I was just joking around about coming to your house to share a couch or shower with James. I have not decided to come to this convention'
Well, we do have an entire YEAR to decide on this. :-) And we don't know the date yet anyway - just 'probably May'.
Hey, you asked for the story!

No, the problem had occurred before your review Spring. He'd already posted a gggrrr arrgggh note earlier in the day. Not your fault. Originally. (heh heh)
