Today I unearthed part of my den. But I really can't put a lot of stuff away until the issues with the kitchen and laundry room floors are resolved. Grr, argh. So that impacts a number of rooms. Then we also decided to try the experiment of switching the living room and dining room. Not sure if it will be a permanent arrangement but it makes me not want to reload the bookcases and china closet in case we want to move everything back. But, yikes!, I really need to put stuff back so we can lively normally. On the other hand, what passes for "normal" around here is Jim at a business dinner tomorrow, out of town T/W, at a church function Thursday, Allie off to NU homecoming for the weekend. (Her car has no heat, mine has no AC. ) Oh, and the garage door broke beyond repair so add 2 new garage doors and a leaky water heater to the upgrading that is going on. Just as we get it ALL (or as close to all) done I know the 22+ year old furnace will die and then we will cycle back to replacing the roof, which was one of the first things we did when we bought the house. I think my kids are thinking that renting might not be such a bad idea. Just keep thinking about how fab it will all be when it is done!

LOVE the pics, Lola!
That first one reminds me of our trip last year, and strolling around the Killington resort we stayed at.
I missed doing that this year!
We must do it again.
I really liked "having our own place," as we did. And it was very economical, really.

Love the photos Lola. Particularly the first one—the composition is absolutely terrific. Ta, ever so! Your action shots are marvelous as usual! Much agreement with you on the Chickadee shot that was one of your faves, but I also love the one right below. Invisible perch is invisible! ;D Is it weird that I could happily spend all day trying to get shots of birds in flight? Granted, it would make for a very boring blog...

Monnie and I were saying in Chicago that we missed Vermonting with you. **nods** It really was! And so relaxing, just staying in the one spot with our own 'home'.

I think it sounds like the perfect job for you. And actually a rather interesting blog.

Trying to be thankful and grateful for the 75% of the projects that are done right the first time instead of focusing on the 25% that have to be redone. (and redone and redone) But, no, really, am glad to be able to do it.

Good Monday morning, S'cubies! Wake up, wake up, wherever you are, and greet your fellow S'cubies who fell from a star. They fell from the sky, they fell very far, and RealLife they say is the name of the star!

So wonderful! My fave: <snipped for space> So amazing! (Direct link from your blog, I assumed it would be OK - lemme know if it is a problem.) Thank you. And as far as I know it's fine to direct link. The pics are ultimately hosted by Picasa, which is basically Google's version of Photobucket, so I can't see where it'd be an issue.

No blog driven by joyful pleasure is ever boring to similar minded folks. As long as you're loving it, that's what matters! Morning S'cubies! It took a lot of effort to crawl out of bed this morning, what with the drizzly weather. (Did you know 'drizzly' was a word? huh) Good morning to sleep in.

It's a sunny day here and I still practically needed the Jaws of Life to extract me from my bed this morning.

I walked to the market in the lovely drizzle (seriously, I like this weather), and home again with two heavy bags (cans will do that). I still have the TJs shopping to do, but after that, I'm hoping to start on the Winter Solstice presents for my cousin and her husband, the usual Japanese journals. The way things have been going, the sooner I get those finished, the better. I induced the Younger Daughter to change her bed, and put her in charge of washing the basket of bed linens. I should change our bed, but it's currently occupied by a Large Fluffy Object. I like walking in a drizzle too, myself. I like drizzle walks and also walking on foggy days. The world looks so unreal then.

But then it wouldn't be a drizzle walk. I got my last really good dose of Vitamin D this weekend. Two days of 18-hole golf in the bright, 70ish sunshine. Hopefully, that'll hold me until March. But I doubt it.

I AM SO SICK. I've had this cold for a week and I can't get rid of it. I was in bed all day yesterday with fever. I feel so not good. Stupid travel. Hope you're feeling better!
