Is this a cool idea, or what? What an amazing idea! Wish our library would do that. If I knew enough about anything I'd volunteer to be a "book", myself.

So, having failed once again to do nothing yesterday (due to Christmas tree-taking-down and another round of fix the watering trough) today I feel...possibly somewhat worse, in the feverish/sore throat/general lasitude and debility way.
I believe I will go take a bit of a nap now.
Julia, having taken all necessary meds and food.

I need a couch which is actually accessible; the lovely, wide, cushy one in the study is barricaded by dog bed and superfluous furniture and buried under stuff Franklin will get to later I don't like lying down on my clean sheets in outdoor clothing for reasons of itchy debris and possible allergens, and by the time I strip off I'm wide awake again, so couches are preferred for napping. Julia, had a bit of a lie down, got itchy, got up.

I just got a happy surprise (which is quite a change) - Silvercrow had a drawing, on their blog, giving away three of their winter holiday bonus packages including a random-amount gift certificate and also some gift certificates by themselves. I entered via the blog, but since I don't do Twitter or Facebook, I couldn't take advantage of the other four possible entries. Anyway, I won a bonus gift package. It's just some small trinkets from their stock and a pendant or something, but still,

I'm sure it will be wonderful, their little bonus things always are, and the gift certificate will get used pretty quickly - I've got a little shopping list going right now.

Thing is, sleep is contingent on reliable pain relief. I really whacked my hip the other day, and I burn through everything too fast to stay asleep. Annoying, and more annoying. Julia, it's a lot better than it was the first night, but still really bruised feeling.

Julia, it's a lot better than it was the first night, but still really bruised feeling. Speaking as someone else who metabolizes pain meds too quickly, the trick is to overlap your dosages. Don't do so much as to OD, but take your next dose before the previous one burns off. This takes a little planning and some knowledge of how quickly your system goes through them--but it's worth it for real relief.
