Not what I came here to find out, darn it. Julia, so saddening, and not looking forward to Anna finding out.

I have a little secret. You all know about the emotional devastation I've endured following the loss of my husband Ian. It was a secret from nearly everyone else. You've seen how terrified I was to "out" myself and how it's helped me now that I finally did. A couple of weeks ago I met someone. A nice someone. A someone who has endured the same things I have and who understands the occasional meltdown because he has them too. A someone who thinks he's found a miracle in ME. We are so perfectly matched in likes, dislikes, taste, outlook, recreational choices--even Buffy! So much so we're beginning to think our late spouses got together in the afterlife and decided to set us up. We spent nearly the whole weekend together, most of Saturday and all day Sunday. I met his family. He met Beth (the only one there at the time). His family likes me. She liked him. Anticipation, how I've missed you. Nothing more than you deserve, Diane, glad you're good for each other! Julia, this has been a very long week; it was already a long week at this time yesterday!

The bad news: My 19 year old granddaughter is pregnant. This is for here only, obviously. At least until her stepfather is told. We are expecting fireworks of the most unpleasant kind. She is just out of school, has blown off college and the only skill she has right now is bartending. Am I happy? Not so much. I know 19 is meant to be stupid. I just wish she ... well, YOU all know. The good news: The boyfriend (age 26) is ecstatic. He has pledged to stand by her whether they get marriedf or not. They had decided to live together when her mother moves and were discussing marriage a year or two down the road. So at least she is with someone who is happy for her. Her mother wasn't so lucky. Both times her husbands were very unhappy about it all. The good news on the Diane front: Not happy about the circumstances. CERTAINLY not happy about having a "great" after my grandma title. BUT Bob, the nice nice nice man I've been seeing who officially named me his girlfriend in front of his family... I called him and told him I needed some support. No questions asked, he will be at my place at 6. I knew fantastic men existed. I had one. I saw my mother with one and apparently Beth has found one too. I didn't know you might find TWO in a lifetime. I don't know what I did to deserve it, but I sure am grateful for it. And--appropos of absolutely nothing and dropping a MAJOR non sequitor into the mix (because my brain is not handling it all right now): James Marsters and Nicolas Brendan will be at DragonCon over Labor Day weekend among a long list of other interesting guests. Wow, 19? Well, glad to hear the father is 26 and reliable. And great that you have support there as well.

Sounds like all will be well. Having a baby that young is hard, but far from impossible or unrewarding - if you have the right attitude and support, and it sounds like she does. One of my best pals had a baby girl that she kept, at 15. She didn't "marry the boy" and she didn't just "palm her off" on her mom either - she had to grow up FAST, FAST, FAST. Those were tough years. She definitely would advise any young girl against getting pregnant at 15 - but she is not even one bit sorry that she did it, or that she kept her baby. All turned out well after lots of hard work and tough times. The baby girl is now in her mid-20s and doing great, and has brought her mother lots of joy. She is also now is the big sister (half-sister) to two, beautiful little girls. So - you never know. People have different ways of making their way successfully through life. Glad you new bf (should I call him that) is coming through for you! Enjoy your evening.

So, are we all prepared for the rise of Skynet tonight? Skynet? I must Google. I think it is the Big Brother computer that takes over in the future of the Terminator movies. But I don't know what that has to do with today? Whether Lola is referencing a TV event or some real life event that parallels the fictional Skynet.

So, are we all prepared for the rise of Skynet tonight? Skynet? I must Google. OK, here is what I found, on some russian posting board site - I didn't really know what I was looking at, but anyhow: Home » IMPORTANT » Posted on April 19, 2011 in IMPORTANT| by admin
I dont want to panic you According to the TV series Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles today is the day Skynet goes online I reveal my true. So say hello to our cybernetic master Just sayin.
If you consider The Sarah Conner Chronicles cannon Skynet will go online tonight at 811 pm. So does that mean I get to call out the shit my friends have been giving me. After all nothing happened August 29 1997 the original Skynet launch.
kkleiner writes At 811 PM today April 19th the militarydesigned artificial intelligence system called Skynet will become selfaware and turn against its creators read us.
If you watched Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines and recall how the Terminator stated that Skynet came on line and Judgement Day happened on April 21st 2011 in a day or two we'd deal with Nukes going off everywhere. It will begin its attack in 2 days. So - I guess we have a couple more days before doomsday, if I'm reading this right.

Spring basically has it - in the Terminator movies, tonight is the night that Skynet becomes self-aware! So, keep an eye on your appliances tonight - are any of them looking like they're about to turn on their creators?
