Family politics, ya gotta love it. From my sister on Facebook: To which my daughter replies: Of course I had a comment to make as well: *hugs* Families, what can you do? Well, at least we know that ours isn't the only one, right? So they finally called last night--just minutes before I was going to bed to announce ( finally!)that he's thinking of selling the condo" and "considering" either an assisted living space (which he says he can't afford) or some in-home health aide help--as if I hadn't figured this out. Both are so "surprised" that I'm angry at them. That's because, you know, " it's all about ME! Damn bustards cost me a whole night's sleep. Anne, what do you say to running away from home with me to a nice little Southsea island that has no telephone service? We could live on cocoanuts, get brown in the sun, swim in the sea, eat fresh seafood every day and NOT HEAR FROM OUR RELATIVES EXCEPT ONCE A MONTH WHEN THE MAIL BOAT ARRIVES?

Congratulations Erin!
Somehow I missed the whole "getting published" section of this thread. Please put it down to massive family issues, sleep deprivation, extreme costuming exhaustion and utter self-absorbtion (per my loving family).

And thank you; I'm really happy about it. I'm hoping it'll help the job search to have some publications under my belt. And now that I'm done with the thesis revisions (I hope), there's a few more articles brewing in my head. for family issues.

If you're short on inspiration I'm sure some of the antics here will provide you with plenty of ideas. What say, fellow S'cubies, what should our new Post-Doc turn her mighty gray cells to next? Ideas? Anybody? Anybody? Bueller?

I did laundry, I did chores around the house, and I ran the weekly defrag. I was waiting for the Younger Daughter to call for a ride if she didn't feel up to waiting an hour for her bus home, but since it's now 25 minutes and counting since her class let out, I think it's safe to assume she's gone out to lunch. I am now officially out of energy and at a loss as to what to do next. Suggestions? Sit and read, I guess. waiting for the next shoe...

Oh, dear. Complicated enough to have an incubator with seven eggs: now I have TWO, and the second one holds... more than seven.
Julia, I think this may have gotten away from me, oh dear oh dear.

Anybody else still watching Castle? *incoherent burble* Also, NF is really, really, really good. Cool. I have it DVR'd. Hawaii 5-O was awesome! Locke and Hiro were on it. Not sure if they'll be regulars or not. I hope so. It was like old LOST home week. Glad they found work on the islands. JM looked especially hot..and there was Spike-like fight moves. Made me miss Buffy.

I had a very Xander-like dream last night that is messing up my morning. Instead of ending up in my parent's basement over and over, I was on a vacation to a casino resort (or something) and got separated from everyone else and went around and in circles ending up back where I started in the process of trying to find them. Frustrating and oogy. *grumpgrump*
