I created a thread for tonight's DW... I already posted there! Also, Jim is following "Copper" on BBCA. Meh, I don't care enough about the good guy to wade through the bad.

Our satellite TV went wonky just before 6PM, so we didn't get Dr Who. I spent a while on the phone with a DISH technician, and it seems to be okay, but we'll have to wait and see if the DVR picks up the 9PM airing. Waaaaah, I really didn't need more stress.

I think the accumulation of small stresses just all hit me at once, and I had a bit of a meltdown. Couldn't eat dinner, went and hid in the bedroom and reread another Regency. Sometimes I just need to run away for a bit, even if it's really more of an inconvenience, not a real disaster. Which this certainly was. First world problems and all that... Tomorrow is Aged Mum Shopping Sunday so Paul can bring her groceries on his way to his Mythie meeting tomorrow afternoon. At least it's a comparatively short list, all thanks to Caregivers F and B, who have been picking up things AM needs when they do their own shopping. {{{{{Sue}}}}}

Hey, y'all. The entire state of Washington is under code red fire danger, how's that for over-doing it. West of the Mountains is in particulary bad shape since (1) There's heavy annual vegetation from the wet first half of the year that is now gone to seed and drying out and (2) it's chilly and overcast and people forget how combustable even chilly dry vegetation is. Sam's been living under extremely unhealthful air quality for more than a week now; they came over the pass to get away from it last Sunday, but I doubt they can afford it today, maybe as far as the west slopes of Snoqualmie or something but even then you have to go up hill to get above the smoke coming through the gap. I guess the Table Mountain and Wenatchee Complex fires are making the national news, finally, but for me... I've been in communication with Sam and reading my friend Pauline's (who lives in Cashmere) fb posts where she's been showing news footage of the fire and the horrible air quality since the first day of the fires, and wow. There's been bad fires before, no mistaking that, but not this combination of big fires and still air- these are a complex of dry lightening fires followed by a long period under a static high pressure system where the worst recent fires have been intentionally or accidentally human-caused and spread by the high winds which are typical of this whole area. I can smell smoke every morning, and live surrounded by rampant vegetation, and I am freaked the hell out. The best I can do is keep the sprinklers going, and it's not an optimal solution, to say the least. Julia, and there's no measurable rain in sight, how fun. <-- rain clouds

Thanks, be. What's particularly distressing, at the moment, is that a huge North Pacific storm just caused flooding and mudslides in the most populated parts of Alaska (which is comparable to the least populated parts of Scotland, but I digress) when a 5% change in wind direction would have spread much needed rain from Anchorage to Eureka, California (compare, say, the Isle of Lewis to Portugal).
Foggy this morning, which at least makes the air on this side feel less explosive; Ellensburg and Wenatchee, though, are still under Air Quality warnings; there was a picture of a wedding party wearing breathing masks on the news last night.
Julia, not my favorite weather pattern this

Shopping for Aged Mum is done, this time anyway. Finished. C'est fini. Even better, it all fits in the back of the Husband's car, after he moved out all the CDs and notebooks and cans of paint and other piles of miscellanea, so my car gets to stay here. I could even go out this afternoon, if necessary, or if I wanted. I probably won't, as it's getting hotter and more humid by the minute and I'm still feeling a bit wibbly-wobbly, but it's nice to know I could. S'cubies, cool wet hopes for Julia and the rest of WA state.

Danny Strong got his writing Emmy! Julia, so very pleased with that, and with Damian Lewis (who should have gotten one for Life).

Thank you! This one was relatively easy; the doll in purple wanted wings. Yes, my projects talk to me sometimes...
