Adopted the 14 year old. Her name had been Samantha, but she changed it to Roxanne.
Here are two pictures . . . one from when she came to my house at the age of 11 (she had decorated her face, as you can see), and one from this week (age 14 going on 25):
She's beautiful! Congratulations on the adoption.

Hi S'cubies! Just checking in to say hi. I'm so excited for you Spring! Congrats on the move and making progress with the adoptions. I'm sorry to hear that Mariah is dating Mr. Oh-So-Not-Right. And Roxanne got suspended, eh? Oh joy. Are you having a big group for Thanksgiving? I'll be with my boyfriend's family on T-Day, and so we'll be with my family for Christmas. The boyfriend and I moved in together in September; it's the first time co-habitating with the opposite sex for both of us, but it's going surprisingly well. We have pretty similar personalities, and we balance each other out emotionally. Other than that, life just keeps chugging along. Miss you guys! Such happy news!! Congratulations, Michelle. Met him in Ohio? Guess being close to a hellmouth didn't hurt things. Miss you too!

Hello. I'm alive and...well, not sick. When Franklin fell on the snow three years ago next January, he snapped the rods correcting his scoliosis at the L2-3 point, and has, since, been getting more and more bent in addition to never actually being out of pain. He has back surgery again on November 17. Things are less easy than they were during his last surgery: Anna's not living here, for one hoiking big difference. Julia, I do not anticipate giddy fun. Hi Julia. Healing vibes to your hubby. I hope his surgery went well. *hugs*

I've been watching a lot of Buffy lately. My DVR picks it ups. It just never gets old, does it? Like a comfortable pair of sexy shoes. Have a great 2015! See you on the flip side!

meetings are hard also deadlines I spend all year with the kind of life where maybe stuff gets done this month then suddenly I have five weeks for an 8 weeks thing to happen? that I'm not in charge of except the starting of it? which I am doing as fast as I can, which isn't very fast.
also also I need to be awake in the daytime and phoning people and talking with words and getting information and making said information make sense whyyyyyyyy so much grown up at once?
also also also my computer I took in to be fixed has come back with a quirky inability to access the internet, or at least the https parts, which, you know, not helpful. they suggest uninstall/reinstall Firefox, but I don't see how that'll help when Internet Explorer has same problem. this computer I can type to y'all on thus far works mostly, but with crashings, and I got it about when I started my college degree course so it's a teensy bit long times since then.
/whine
things are thing like, I'd just rather hide under a blanket most days anyway.
hope you all having nice days.

I got my hair cut and didn't dye it so now I'm going to be shiny :-) I also have to organise a meeting where I sign things and give money to apply for a mortgage. So, that's... adult. And potentially cool. Yay, becca! I went out today and ran errands. And they were all things I wanted to do, not things I needed to do for others. It's the first time I've run away from home without having to run useful errands in, probably, years. Yay, me? hi Anne, did your mom's reverse mortgage every go through and get started? How are the girls doing? (and the cats?) I know the slow-down is sad-making BUT, on the bright side, I can check in once a week and only have to go back a page to response to everyone who was posted. Remember when you'd go to bed and in the morning you just could not go back and read 18 pages to respond to folks?

go you! My son and DIL close on a condo next Friday. So, adults all around. (babies next, maybe?) edit: I mean, babies for Tom and Sarah not for be ..... unless she would want one of course. LOL. Yes, babies for Tom and Sarah. You need some grandchildren.
Yay, ANNE!! Good to do things just for you now and then.
And Yay BECCA!! Very grown up and cool.
Roxanne hurt her foot something awful while wrestling this weekend - yes, that's right, she wrestles, with boys mostly. It is BRUTAL to watch her do it. And she got hurt pretty badly this weekend. They thought the ankle was broken, because so much swelling and bruising, but it turned out to be an awful, awful sprain (8 wks to complete recovery, per the doc). We were in the ER until 2:30AM on Sat night.
The youngest, who is still my foster child, "Mandy," keeps going back and forth about wanting to be adopted by me. She says she's interested in this other family and will probably go visit them. I suspect she is testing me and wants me to stop her, but I can't really do that. I do tell her, "well, I love you and you know I want to adopt you, but I want you to be happy and I want whatever is best for you." And she says "Oh, don't say that! Stop giving me so much love!!!" Yep, that does make it all harder and more confusing, I suppose. She's a cutie, but que sera, sera.
Spring - How is Roxanne's foot? Go her on the wrestling. sounds like "Mandy" really is testing your resolve.

Hi S'cubies!! Hugs and love. Miss you guys. Felt like I was in a fog all last year but doing better now. So.. what's shakin? I see Sue has something we all just turned green with envy from seeing. Such an awesome awesome present and to a most deserving fan. btw - that yogurt maker is still going strong - use it once a week and think of you. KAREN! What was the fog about? (if you care to share?) My kids are really really pushing at us to do a non-inflammatory diet (Whole30, I think is the name). I know it's a leave off all sugar, flour and dairy. Not sure I'll survive but I had a horrible cold right after Christmas and lived on tea and scrambled eggs and (other than the cold) felt soooooo much better in other ways -- then I went back and ate every junk food I could get my hands on and .... blech. So, I need to give it a try. Also, because the pulmonologist is asking if want to try a low dose of steroids re my lungs. They reduce inflammation so really, it makes more sense to try to control inflammation by eliminating stuff from my diet rather than adding a medication with all of it's nasty side effects! How are the boys? and the grandbaby? (not such a baby anymore, I think). Men?
