Hey everybody (especially Rob and all other Xander fans, like me) Had to post a quick note about Xander Appreciation Day. I had seen it mentioned a time or two on sites or LJs, but hadn’t remembered where and wanted the details before I posted something about it here. So I googled and found the site devoted to it. (Side note: don’t you love google? Google finds anything. Always. Actually it’s a little scary what google finds. OK, I admit I am a little afraid of google. But yet I still love it. Love and fear. I am a sick puppy. ) Back to my point. Buddy / whimsicalnotion has declared May 1st to be Xander Appreciation day and is calling all the folks out there to get creative and Xander-centric. Celebrate the Xander within, or whatever. (For those who have come to know and fear me, the site does say that stuff DOESN'T have to be slashy. ;D ) I hope this results in a nice burst of new Xander stuff. ‘Cuz I can always appreciate that. I mean, come on - Rob is only one man - he can't do it all by himself! And that started to sound a little..............Wednesday, didn't it? Anyway, for the interested parties, here’s a link to the site. www.precious-kisses.co.uk/paranoia/xander.html I’m posting this message on the two fiction threads. In case you are a fic writer and want to participate. Or a fic reader and want to go there when stuff starts getting posted. (It’s not going to be just fic, tho' – site is also looking for pics, vids, etc.) Lola

There are some very good Xander-centric fic-writers out there...hopefully some interesting stories come out of this idea.

Hi, Everyone Our own wonderful spikeNdru's Web site is up, offering fanfic for one and all! Her stories feature Andrew, Dawn, Giles, and other Jossverse characters, and oh, yeah, a tale or two about some bleached blonde vampire named, Spike. There's also some entertaining Highlander and Highlander crossover fic, too. Here's the URL: www.angelfire.com/vamp/swordandstake/index.htmoh - and don't forget: Insane in the Basement still archives some of spikeNdru's stories, as well. Here's the URL for that: www.insaneinthebasement.com/Once you're at the site, just link to fanfic, then to authors, then to spikeNdru, for those stories, too. Enjoy the reading!

A writer I'm otherwise unfamiliar with, Melissa, has a story in 6 parts, "Putting the Question." It takes off from Destiny, and is a year in the future from that episode. Buffy comes to LA, and Spike has to decide what to do about it. It's well written and quite psychologically convincing. www.the-crypt.net/

Hey all,
Notice this thread has no designated moderator. That said, as we approach 30 pages I am thinking that sometime in the future (which could mean days, weeks or months), we should close and lock this part and start a new fic rec thread.
With that in mind, and given that we have S'cubies just starting out on the wild fanfic ride, you might want to prepare a list of your favorite sites, authors and stories. If I ever put my self into it I hope to collect the primary recs from this thread as well.
Then, when we open a new part everybody can post their personal lists at the front.

Got this via email from Mary Statz who writes "Journeys." (Which you can find on the www.soulfulspike.com website along with Nan and Rob and other S'cubie writers). Hello all, No, the story is NOT over. Yes, I plan to continue it. I'm just having some serious trouble with writer's block. Believe me, I never thought I'd be able to stare at the screen for so long without being able to construct a cohesive or even somewhat meaningful sentence. It's awful, I hate it, and I am open to suggestions on how to overcome it!! At this point, I have every intention of finishing Journeys. IF FOR ANY REASON I think I just can't, and this block drags on and on, I WILL RELEASE THE 500 OR SO ADDITIOANL PAGES THAT ARE WRITTEN, even though many are in very rough draft form, and would probably lead to confusion because not everything is worked out, etc. BUT they WOULD give you the gist of the rest of the story, which has been plotted out for ages. I'm not ready to do that yet, but I will NOT abandon you in Journeys limbo forever! Thank you so much to everyone who has been sending me encouraging e-mails! I've been a bit incommunicado, but the messages have not gone unread or unappreciated. Thanks, too, to everyone who sent congrats on my impending grandmotherhood. To answer all - yes, this is my first, the tot is due in August, sex will remain a mystery until then, the expectant parents live next door to me, and I have instructed The Daughter (who is NOT the mother) to come home and clean up her bedroom so that I can put a crib, etc., there for babysitting purposes. In other words, I am excited. One more thing - I will be in Nashville the first week of June with The Daughter for the U.S. Gymnastics Championships. I'll be getting together at some point during that week with a couple of Buffy fans (Sue from the S'Cubie Board, and fellow writer Kimi, both Nashville residents). If you're going to be anywhere in the vicinity and are interested in a possible get-together, contact me! Mary Please share my message with anyone you think might be interested. Thanks!

Sue makd is also working on a fanfic bibliography, in her "professional capacity." I've IM'ed her so we are not duplicating efforts. I'm attempting to go thru one page per day from the current thread and organize the recs into a list of sites and a list of authors. Also, a lot of the sites need updating. Just on the first page I have not been able to link to: www. bandofbuggered.com or www.tar-xvf.net/shannon/half-gifts/ or www.geocities.com/kallysten_frNow, I know that kallysten's site has changed it's address to: www.kallysten.netbut does anybody else have up to date site URLS for the first two sites listed? Thanks, Sue

Just on the first page I have not been able to link to: www. bandofbuggered.com Valerie's in grad school; no time to maintain/finish her Website and her WIPS. So, her Website's gone and her forum is now maintained by someone else, IIIRC.
However, some of her fic is at allaboutspike, and also, you can go to fanfiction.net for much of it. (I don't know how it stays there, since it's pretty much R-rated and NC-17.) or www.tar-xvf.net/shannon/half-gifts/ Went there just this a.m. to check on Shannon's LJ>. The site's still up and running. Try again. or www.geocities.com/kallysten_frCan't help with this one, sorry. Now, I know that kallysten's site has changed it's address to: www.kallysten.netbut does anybody else have up to date site URLS for the first two sites listed? Thanks, Sue

It's post-apocolyptic Spike-Dawn (eventually Spike/Dawn) and very well written, by Wesleysgirl, WIP in her Live Journal--26 parts done at this point, and it's just getting rolling: it will be a long work, it seems. www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=wesleysgirl&keyword=Let+the+World+Spin+%28Spike/Dawn%29&filter=all Cut and paste the above into your browser, closing any space after .bml? When I pasted the URL, it was too long and made this whole bunch of posts go skewy, so I've halved it.

New at allaboutspike is this tale of Dana returning, still crazy, in hopes of gaining Spike's forgiveness and of being reconciled to her Calling as a Slayer. Characterization is excellent and the angst thick enough to cut with a plastic spoon. It's complete, and quite substantial in content as well as in length.
