Do you get WE? Will you tape it and report back?Laura

I went and looked at the TV Guide Online for a week from Wednesday, June 4, 10:00, and Women and Vampires isn't listed. I'd had the impression it was a series, but it seems I was mistaken.
So THIS Wednesday, May 28, it's (at least) a onesie, and may be interesting, even if our Spike isn't in it.

FYI, my thought on the new strings has always been that since most folks are still just playing with the bells and whistles (a few have actually begun to talk real topics, however), that when ScoopMe does go down permanently (and may already have at this rate), we need to shut down whatever string we're on and start fresh with an all new SSS Part 1; I'm sure Vlad can set these strings up as pre-SSS strings or something, so one day we can look back and laugh at all our playing around.

Is everyone having a good Memorial Day? Mine's been....interesting. This morning about 11:30 my mom was outside watering the flowers outside the house. Well, it stormed something fierce last night and our driveway was very wet (the driveway is tiny cobblestones). Anyway, my mom slipped and gashed her knee wide open on a rock surrounding her flower bed. Blood and my family- not a great mix. We see blood and we start freaking OUT! So, my dad comes running into the house telling me he's taking my mom to the ER. It's a deep gash and will require stitches. He takes her and I throw some clothes on and start to follow them a few minutes later. Well, as I'm driving to the ER, my driver's side front tire blows out! I pull over and start to get the spare tire and tools out. Only problem is, I can't get the jack out. It's screwed in and I can't loosen the screw. There's no way I can get to the ER and I can't fix my tire. I'm afraid my parents were going to start to think I was in a car accident. Anyway, a man comes over to help me (my parents live in one of those small towns where no one is a stranger) and he is able to get the jack out. A couple of minutes later, I have the tire changed and am on the way to the ER. I get there and my parents are just waiting. My dad has to go because there was another emergency with one of his church members so Mom and I were just hanging out in the ER. 2 1/2 hours later, we're still there. My mom gets disgusted and decides she's just going to see her doctor in the morning and he can stitch her up and give her a tetnus shot. Meanwhile, my dad, after visiting the people he needed to see, has been calling garages in town to see if one is open so I can get another tire. There's NO way I can drive home with my spare! Needless to say, it being a holiday means all the garages are closed. Can't get a tire until tomorrow morning which means I have to go into work late. Normally, I wouldn't care but I am supposed to meet with new clients tomorrow at 8am. I had to call one of the other associates in my firm to see if he could cover it (he can, thank goodness). So my day has been exciting and stressful. Now, everything is back to normal and we're just here watching TV (or my parents are while I'm on the computer). Phew!!!

Do you get WE? Will you tape it and report back?Laura Of course I will. Laura, do you want me to tape it for you? I would be more than glad to do so - just let me know. It is not a problem at all if you want me to make you a tape of the special.

So how's your Mom's knee at this point, Lee? Stitched or unstitched?
It may cheer you to reflect that you've now had your bad luck quota for at least the next six months. Nothing unexpectedly wretched until Thanksgiving. But I'd watch out then for those Chumash and their arrows....

Nothing unexpectedly wretched until Thanksgiving. But I'd watch out then for those Chumash and their arrows.... The Chumash aren't so bad, provided you aren't tied to a chair when they attack. And if that's the case, I highly recommend being a vampire, as they have really bad aim when trying to get the heart. Lee, sounds as if Mom is pretty much ok. Good to know. Memorial Day is supposed to be a day when we honor those who have died -- not a good day to be giving everyone heart attacks by going to the emergency room and stuff. There was a joke in there, but I just couldn't get it to word right. Sorry Lee. Glad to know she's ok though.

Nothing unexpectedly wretched until Thanksgiving. But I'd watch out then for those Chumash and their arrows.... At this point, the knee is unstitched but bandaged. My family is very accident-prone so we have a first aid kit that would put some doctors' offices to shame. She's got gauze a-plenty on that knee. Her doctor opens at 8:30am (I think) so she's going in then to get it stitched up and to get her shot. From your lips to God's ears about our fill of bad luck! My grandmother is doing a lot better! Hopefully she will be released mid-week or, if not then, early next week. She's diabetic and her blood sugar has been wacky but I think they now have it under control. She also was fighting a cold and when I saw her the other day, she was feeling better. She'll be released to rehab for a couple of weeks and we're thinking about getting her a permanent aide when she is at home. She's getting up in years and this last incident has really taken a lot out of her. Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers these last few weeks - I really appreciate them!
