That's cool! Speaking of fisticuffs, I started my kickboxing class a couple of weeks ago. I think I mentioned before that I had signed up. It is so much fun! This week we were punching at a pad that another person would hold up against their chest. The person I was punching at asked me if I was angry at someone in particular. ;D Hitting things is so much fun! Hi Alice, Good to see you. I have been wondering about you and your kickboxing. I'm glad you are enjoying it. Is it not the best? I can see why Buffy and Faith get so hyped about Slaying. ;D Do you get to use wavemasters (stand up punching bags) as well? We use both, but you can hit the wm's so MUCH harder than the pads. I LOVE it!

I was just over in Kerrie's spoiler-free thread and saw mention of a way to download the show. Does anyone have any details or can you point me in the right way? I was thinking I could try it at work.

Does being an antedeluvian hippie count toward being a nerd? Or are they antithetical, makd? If the former, I got you beat, cards and spades (another antedeluvian phrase: from the game Spades ((Duh)). You got me beat, and I'm comfortable with that! Hey, I am a (former) beatnik, counter-culture, early feminist, anti-war, but not hippie, ex-appalachian, ex-pennsylvanian, now Long Islander (and I say it Long Ahlander), Master Scubie, Thrall Master - and proud of it! thank you, thank you. (not enough green, and overly fond of poetry, jazz, the Dixie Chicks AND Sting, Etta over Aretha, James Baldwin over Robert Rodriguez, and "who the hell is fleetwood mac?", Paul Siebold-loving, to be a hippie) AND have somehow successfully (or so I've been told) managed to combine the nerd and the beat. (Hubby says that's one of my more attractive traits. Not telling you the other attractive traits, cause I'm too old, too nerdy and too modest.) ah yes, the '60s. good times. Nan, my dear, we really must F-to-F.

I was thinking I could try it at work. Sandy posted a link the Resources thread, which should be near the top because she did that very recently. And I believe some people are also finding the eps. here: www.buffy.nuGood luck.

I LOVE it! No wavemasters. Wow! Those sound great. I think I'm in the budget class. Next week they're going to drag some mats up from the gym for us to use. But maybe one day I'll find a full-on course. I think I could stick with this for a long time.

Alice - missbuffy takes kickboxing as well. Psst... I've heard she's really good so now she's my secret weapon for S'cubiefest '04. I'm glad you're enjoying your class! You're right - it's always fun to hit things. ;D Mwahahaha! We're learning spinning back kicks right now... so those Spuffies better not stand behind me.

I was thinking I could try it at work. Try here. www.dysfunctionalchicken.net/Angelclips/ It's broken into several small clips, but it seemed to download quicker that way. Go to the "parent directory" and it has Conviction, also.

I think I could stick with this for a long time. I've been doing it for two years now, and while some of my girlfriends got bored and dropped out, I just love it. But, I said that already... so you probably already got that. And I feel much stronger and safer because of it.

That sounds pretty good to me. It would be interesting to know how many people don't watch Smallville--I certainly don't. The dream would be for another Joss show to lead into Angel. Like Buffy... sigh... I miss Buffy. (It was our lead in to Angel here.)

Just a quick YES! to Iparish's comment, on one of the last pages in the last Part, about how great it would be if SOMEONE gave Spikey a little praise, or at least some credit, instead of another round of Kick-the-Spike.
Spike has sort of become the Xander of the vampire kingdom, though in more macho trappings. Not enough respect!
I did very much like the writing of Spike in JUST REWARDS, and hope it will set the tone for the season. Spike was shown to be snarky, obnoxious, juvenile, yet, at times, vulnerable, noble and strong. He is, like almost all of the Jossverse characters, multi-dimensional and layered as a character.
I'm not ready for Harmony to suddenly become more rounded as a character though. I betcha that the writers WILL flesh her out prior to having her and Spike go back to the sack. But I hope I'm wrong.

I remember this discussion on the ScoopMe boards, but I don't remember the resolution. Diane described Liam as a cowardly bully, etc. Don't remember verbatum, sorry. But Liam, as I've seen in flashbacks on Angel, was a guy in his early 20s who was lazy, liked to drink and sleep with alot of women. Seriously, that's the large majority of guys at that age, especially in college (I was one). I don't think it says anything about his weakness. I think he was a typical guy in his 20's. Maybe typical in the late 20th/early 21st century. Not typical for the early 18th. Boys became men around 15, often married with families. Certainly being trained for an occupation. Kids took on family responsibilities as soon as they could walk. Liam was a disgrace in his time.

Sarah, that's really funny actually. This could stick with you for your entire S'cubie history. Maybe when you become a Master S'cubie your name could be Doppel S'cubie. You may already know there are a couple of us over here with you, myself and Becky. Becky is going back home in December I think. But I'll be here in January when the new season starts for us. Maybe we can start our own little mini thread discussion. I'm trying to stay spoiler free as much as possible. I dabbled in spoilage during Season 6 and decided I liked it better when I didn't know what's coming. Anyway, glad you're here with us. It's the nicest place. Did you see the jacuzzi yet? Thanks, Alice, that sounds like an excellent plan. Normally I do stay spoiler-free (I preferred season 7 that way, too), and may well go back to my old ways soon - especially if I know we can have our own discussion in January. Doppel S'cubie ... I'll remember that. I think. Now I'm off in search of the jacuzzi ...
