Posted By Nan.... I think Patti has forgotten her own "Stop at 300 Posts Rule." Which probably means that she'll end this Part immediatetly and nobody will see my announcement that Chapter 7c of The Blood Is the Life is up and posted on my Live Journal: www.livejournal.com/users/nandibble/3309.htmlAbout two more sections to go, to complete the chapter. It's rolling along quite quickly now. I think I'll be finished with this one in another day or two (it now being nearly 4 in the morning, I don't think I'll do any more tonight).

Posted by Vlad...
A new winner was crowned. "Sunstroke" submitted by RAKSHA won the second Pic of the Week. See for yourself on the website what a great pic it is! Way to go Raksha! You are now a part of indelible S'cubie memorabelia! The voting was EXTREMELY close this time! I would like to extend my thanks to all the non-winners for helping make the POTW a success.
I'll now let you go back to your regular posting. The new nomination thread is posted. Any questions about Pic of the Week should be directed to PattiT.

I'll jump in to save Patti from talking to herself. I've got a good excuse for having not read all of parts 50 and 51 in my quest to remain unspoiled. If I missed anything personal, let me know. Otherwise, I'll just say "hello" to all of the N'ubies on board ,thanks to Nan's wonderful reviews. I admit to skimming the reviews on slayage.com (peeking through my fingers, I swear) and Nan's are by far the best: thorough, witty, articulate and thoughtful without being didactic. A special "hello" to Sarah, also in the UK. I did the exact same thing when I joined and unless Vlad deleted it, I have an evil twin listed on the membership roster. I'm very tired after a long but wonderful weekend in North Wales so I'm off for now but first: Caraleigh, any news on the house? It occurred to me that you could always invite the pissy bank managers over to help you find any leftover shards of broken glass... Whoops, one more thing: if you follow this URL, you'll see a picture of my daughter (misspelled though her name may be) indulging in her current favorite sport. www.ueharlax.ac.uk/campus/news/Lincoln/pages/Lincoln18_jpg.htm

Wow, last I looked there were only 6 pages in the last thread!
Just wanted to make one comment - listening to JM in the last ep, I thought that in places, he sounded a lot like Cary Grant. I know it was discussed earlier...do you think he may be working on a change of accent?
I really have a lot to do today. I'll look logged in but will be on another site working on that nasty class in my spare time.
Have a great day.

I'm making a bridesmaid dress for a friend of my daughters and spent the whole weekend chained to my sewing machine with seasons 2 and 3 of Buffy on the player. Sigh.
All that drama. I loved it, again.
Can you tell...I really don't want to work on that class.

That's right, I could, Becky. I thought the other day that I'm not going to have to worry about the broken glass because I probably won't be here a year from now. No real news about the house except we were turned down for a new mortgage thingy on Friday. We're dealing. What a cute picture of your daughter. She looks like she is enjoying herself.

Becky - Thanks for sharing the picture of your daughter Halley. She looks like a sweet little pixie! That was too bad about losing your glasses. I would be lost without mine, too. I started wearing trifocals about 5 years ago. Now, I wear mono-contacts. One eye for reading, and the other for a slight far-sighted correction. I'm loving them. I pop them in and forget about them for 1-2 months. Like perfect vision. To make this post legal, I will mention that I watched OMWF this morning while getting ready for work and had to redo my eye makeup. Ah, the Spike and Buffy kiss - what a shock that was the first time I saw it. There's a lot to be said for not being spoiled. Gotta go do some major workage this week. You all have a great week!

Daughter Halley (?) is a cutie, alright. So, her favorite sport is pidgeon-shooing? ;D
Just to share: this a.m. watched a little of Shriek, I know .... a spoof of Scary Movie. Stars? Danny Strong and Julie Benz. And, guess who was featured in the commercials (for the NY Times)? One Robia LaMorte!
Yep! It was a Buffy alumni morning!

I like your new(?--I'm so unobservant) avatar. How can you read reviews and be unspoiled? A few of us have been trying to let Kerrie know (just in a general way) when the main thread dies down on the episode discussion. (Again, very generally it goes nuts Wed nite, Thursday, and then starts to taper off, especially as the reviews are posted and discussion moves over there.) We usually post the info on the "unspoiled" thread--but, of course, no guarantees. Sue

While I was watching "Just Rewards" again over the weekend I got a good look at Harmony's desk that had me squeeling in delight. Unicorns! She has two unicorn figurines on her desk, an adult and possibly a baby. She also has some sort of miniture display chest in the corner of her desk but someone with a bigger screen than my 25 inch will have to see if they can tell what that is.
I was thrilled to see the subtle background use of a theme so closely identified with Harmony's character. BTW, I think the scene where the unicorn figurines show up is right after the commercial break following the delivery of the buckets filled with the dismembered attorney who had been sent by Angel to sever W&H ties with Hainsley. Angel comes out of his office to tell Harmony to get him the lawyer's personal contact information and to be discreet about what had happened to him. She says that great "bucket o' lawyer" line.
Conspicuously absent from her desk is a computer, which is very odd. What kind of personal assistant or receptionist doesn't have a computer? And in "Conviction" she did emphasize her typing skills in trying to convince Angel why he should accept her as his assistant.
On the other end of the spectrum I am very disappointed in the lack of attention that was paid to the detail of the original duster in the contstruction of the new coat made for Spike to wear on Angel. Previously I've lamented the stiffness, boxiness and lack of flair and general *billowiness* in the replacement. Well, apart from all that it seems that unless I'm mistaken (those of you with big screen TVs, please check this out and get back to me if I'm wrong), they didn't bother replicating any of the detail on the back of the coat. The original has a sort of scalloping design (don't know the correct term) on the front about collar bone height which is nicely reproduced on the replacement. But the original continued that design accross the back as well, and it's this detail which appears to be absent on the replacement. It's clearly visible on all shots I've checked of the back of the original coat and I couldn't detect any sign of it when they showed the back of the new one. I don't know whether or not they replicated the back flap that ends at about the waist because I never got a good look at the back of the coat at waist level.
I know this is probably being a might obsessive of me (I can hear the collective "Ya think?" in my imagination as I type. But the duster is well known and closely identifyed with Spike I can't help resenting that they didn't take more care in replicating the original.
