Jeffrey Bell wrote AND directed (IF I remember correctly) and I don't have the faintest idea who he is, but Dave or somebody else will, I'm sure, have all the details in the morning. Texas you say--Patti and Diane are from Houston! Ah, yes--thanks--I'm terrible with names. Seems like they've found a keeper if he's new. Kind of reminds me a little of some of the BtVS's that Jane Espenson wrote back in the day. I live in Austin, myself. The Live Music Capital of the World, so they say.

Now is time for those of us on the left coast to go watch Angel. Back in an hour, unless I decide to watch Law & Order instead of recording it for viewing later. [glow=red,2,300]Don't even come BACK here if you're going to talk about choosing to watch something other than Angel! [/glow]

LOL! ;D ;D And what would be the difference? I, for one, wouldn't feel guilty about being so stupid about the prophecies, wouldn't feel guilty about waking the household giggling, and wouldn't feel guilty about putting so many S'cubies off the main topic trying to explain the damned thing! so, yeah, I wish I were stoned right now!

First post to this forum--I just had to say how much I enjoyed it! Being from Texas, I thought the whole Masked Wrestler thing was just a hoot! And to still manage to (gracefully) fit in all that character and plot development. I'm very impressed. Who is the writer? I noticed that I didn't recognize the name when it appeared at the beginning. Is he new to Angel? It was a very tight episode. Lots of stuff going on. Cool demon. Snarky Spike. Good music/choreography. Nice to see you again, WinterDreamer!

I have to admit that I taped The OC. And had a bit of a struggle over whether to just watch Angel and tape the West Wing or to watch Angel AND tape it. I decided to skip West Wing in the end!

Was anybody else in hysterics in the beginning watching Spike play up the big "smackdown" between Angel and Numero Cinco? Especially when he was in the background nodding and laughing with his mouth open while the rest of them went on, oblivious!

I think it's a good topic because it looks like Shanshuing is going to be one of the arcs this season, if not the main one. I think it's been brought up in at least 2 episodes.

I live in Austin, myself. The Live Music Capital of the World, so they say. Well then we have something in common too--"Music City USA" here. Big week in Nashville--CMA awards. My husband has a cousin who is a librarian in Austin (I think). And now, I MUST sign off and go to bed.

Is there a full moon, and can we PLEASE forget the god-damned prophecy and get back to the main topic, or I will never stop laughing, and will wake up the rest of the household. thank you. (giggling, still) Well, now...the prophesy isn't entirely off-subject. After all, Angel did mention the father killing the son prophesy to Wes. Which started all this kerfuffle in the first place. Glad you're so OK, makd! Shanno

This is the first time I've been able to watch the show when it was on since the first one this season. Usually I have to wait until the weekend to see it so I don't want to get spoiled by reading the posts!

Spike was acting like a little bratty brother - so funny!!That whole scene was great! I am going to miss the mailroom guy speculation, tho. Wonder who the new one will be.

Except for a few possible guest appearances and one pretty scary spoiler that was real vague, I pretty much don't know what's going to happen. I love the surprises.

DON'T TELL ME!!! I don't even like to watch the previews of next weeks show. I watched them last week and I was sorry I did because I knew the 4 brothers were going to show up in the cemetery. Well, maybe I would have figured that out anyway, but there was NO suspense about it after having seen the previews. I'm so spoilerphobic that I didn't even know JM was moving to Angel until several weeks after I saw Chosen.

I think it's a good topic because it looks like it's going to be one of the arcs this season, if not the main one. True - but only if one understands the prophecy. Also, seriously, this is one of the reasons I had trouble getting into Angel last year - so damned complicated (and no oh-so-very-patient S'cubies to help clear the confusion. I do think that there are so many arcs going on right now, but they are done so subtlely, so well, that lots of viewers can miss them: just rewards, conviction of one's ideals, boundaries between good and evil, internal (office) politics, the prophecy, Spike's re-corporealizing, adjustment to the rigors of adult (corporate) life, etc. Just so much going on, but done so well that, as I said above, it's easy to miss them, but there for the viewer who cares. My husband (Gil) watched his first Angel tonight, and liked it! He knows nothing about Angel except that it's a Buffy spin-off. I told him only that there's this team that is fighting evil from within a corporate setting in LA. Gunn is a lawyer (Gil: "a brother, good! Do they have any Hispanics?")[multi-ethnic family, here]; Angel is CEO and a vampire (Gil: "THAT'S news? Aren't most CEOs vampires?"), Spike's been resurrected (Gil: Ah, Spike. He's funny. Where's Buffy? Is he gonna have sex with Buffy or some other blonde?"); Lorne is a horny green guy (makd: "Gil, no, Lorne is NOT a horny green guy; he's a green guy with horns"); Fred is a scientist (Gil: "She needs to eat - a lot."); Wesley is a scholar and seems to be Angel's best friend (Gil: What's with this guy? He seems lost."). As for the episode? He liked it very much - so much he stopped what he was doing (some exercises) and gave the show his full attention. That was when I realized just how good a job the writers are doing! Here was a guy completely new to the show, just enjoying the show for itself. There was I, into the fray, and ready to deconstruct. Both of us enjoying the show. That's good writing, good acting, good work.
