Terrific episode! The choreography in the ring; the "new" Team Angel - Spike, Wes, Gunn, and Angel; " Well, it sounds like I'm not the only one who loved it.

I don't remember anything about the vampire shanshuing in the false prophecy - just that he would kill his son. Am I wrong? Sandy The confusion was entirely mine! I thought both prophecies were part of the SAME prophecy. I didn't know they were separate. (Remember: Ben and Glory, Glory and Ben.... Except: I thought, like Ben and Glory, the two prophecies were part of the same prophecy. Turns out they were separate. And I'm not very stoned. Hey, I'm not stoned at all. I was confused. I am fine now, just suffering the after effects of silly laughing at myself. and still giggling at the idiot (me).

Well, it sounds like I'm not the only one who loved it. Sorry, I accidently posted before I finished my thoughts. This is what I meant to say: Terrific episode! The choreography in the ring; the "new" Team Angel - Spike, Wes, Gunn, and Angel; " Well, it sounds like I'm not the only one who loved it. Agree with Laura that it's going to take more than one watching. Nearly all of the dialogue was noteworthy--either for fun, for commenting on connectedness, or heroes, or heart, or why they fight the good fight, or about prophecy, etc, etc. Not too many throwaway lines. I will say, okay it was only the 4 guys in the car, but I think "Team Angel" is the FIVE: Angel, Spike, Gunn, Wes, and Fred (Queer Eye anyone??) The mantle has been passed from the 5 Mexicans to the 5 Fang Gang. (makd--it's Whedon, with only one e, or was that just a typo?) Also loved the choreography. Thought from the promo the ep would be lame. Who comes up with the idea to do an entire metaphor about the heart of a hero by using 5 octogenarian Mexican wrestlers in business suits and masks? I love these people!!

At the risk of confusing things further, NO, it was not the shanshu prophecy called into question but one suggesting the father (Angel) would kill the son (Connor). As far as I can remember, the shanshu prophecy has never had doubt cast upon it except by Angel himself (he simply doesn't believe it).
When Wesley first deciphered the shanshu prophecy he thought that it read that the vampire with a soul would "die" - later he said he made a mistake and that word meant "live". To shanshu - live. He said that the 2 words were very similar in that language. So, I guess there was some doubt at the beginning, but it was cleared up later. Angel thinks it may be true, but not likely to happen for a long time. Did you catch how Spike called Shanshu, Sans Shoes? I thought of his drowning in footwear comment in Chosen.

First post to this forum--I just had to say how much I enjoyed it! Being from Texas, I thought the whole Masked Wrestler thing was just a hoot! And to still manage to (gracefully) fit in all that character and plot development. I'm very impressed. Who is the writer? I noticed that I didn't recognize the name when it appeared at the beginning. Is he new to Angel?

So then, Betsy: there are two prophecies: (1) a real prophecy about an ensouled vampire who shansues, and (2) a doctored phophecy about an ensouled vampire who shansues after killing his son. Whew! I hope this is it! I hope I've got it now! 2 is wrong: there is nothing about ensouled or shanshuing in the latter prophecy. It's more along the lines that there will be a child miraculously born of two vampires, and he will be called "The Destroyer"; however, the father will kill the son. That's about it--right, Betsy? Jeffrey Bell wrote AND directed (IF I remember correctly) and I don't have the faintest idea who he is, but Dave or somebody else will, I'm sure, have all the details in the morning. Texas you say--Patti and Diane are from Houston!

makd, 1) Shanshu prophesy true not false 2) Father kill son prophesy false not true not involve Shanshu 3) Ben and Glory, Glory and Ben...BtVS not AtS Shanno (feeling very stoned now) Giggling here, very much. So many people trying to help the idiot. The idiot now understands, but people keep helping. I keep trying to explain that I now understand, but it only keeps adding to the confusion. Just makes it funnier. Result? Still giggling; still not stoned. Must be some kind of spell. Is there a full moon, and can we PLEASE forget the god-damned prophecy and get back to the main topic, or I will never stop laughing, and will wake up the rest of the household. thank you. (giggling, still)

That's pretty much it in a nutshell Nan. W&H stole some of Connor's blood (as Sajhan wanted it) and spiked Angel's blood supply. Angel then started drinking more and more blood and started looking at Connor like a tasty morsel and the others picked up on it. Then they realized that Angel's blood supply was being spiked with Connor's blood.

Now is time for those of us on the left coast to go watch Angel. Back in an hour, unless I decide to watch Law & Order instead of recording it for viewing later.
