He's your father, you can't help caring. Good thoughts for him, and a hug for you. Anne's right -- he's still your father, no matter how distant you've been. I'll pray for you both.
And for all the other S'cubies and their families!

Do we have a S'narky S'cubie yet? If not, there's a name for someone.
Still in housework avoidance mode, and doing my best to let the weirdness in, ;D

To be truthful, I was relieved when you stopped stripping once you got all the clothes off. I really thought that after we saw the stockings come off, we were going to see the skin getting pulled over the feet next! I was steeling myself for a shock!
Just not the one I got!

Hey all, sorry to rain on the Angelday parade, but it's my turn to ask for your good wishes. I just found out my father's in hospital. Again. Has, in fact, been in hospital since May (we're not close). He's in serious but stable condition. He's had a couple of serious strokes and a seizure that's left him paralyzed. I'm gonna try and get down to see him this weekend. He's been in the hospital twice before over the past few years, once w/a mild stroke, once w/congestive heart failure. As awful as it sounds, part of me wishes he'd just die and get it over with. I haven't seen him in a couple of years, haven't even spoken with him. I guess he's doing ok, considering, but I just don't know how to feel. LadyDi BTDT with my mom. Hang in there. Lots of prayers from me (I remember all the S'Cubies, their families, and friends when I pray). Deep breathing helps - in the calming. and, once again: hang in there....

Wow! and I just saw him in TNT's afternoon Angel --- more muscle, and I just know it IS Lindsey. Man, oh man, that man hates Angel. So, then, Eve and Lindsey are plotting against the Sr. Partners and Angel, eh? mwahahahahha! So glad there's no arc this season. ;D

So far, assuming what Eve says at the end is as near to the truth as we're apt to get, Painted-Lindsey and she are pulling a fast one on the Senior Partners...so who do they answer to? E..L, that is.
Apparently part of the plan was for Spike to kill Angel. But the E..L are prepared to settle for mayhem and malice, and Angel's shattered conviction that he's a Champion at all, as compared to Spike.

Well, apparently, he is! I got the impression that whatever he and Eve are up to, the SP don't know about either!
Or maybe I was misinterpreting?
By the way -- I wasn't paying a ton of attention to the opening credits, but I take it Christian Kane was uncredited?
What an awesome episode! They addressed a TON of our comments/observations/hopes -- put some things to rest, and have opened others up for further discussion. Bee-you-tee-ful!

Hi guys- Tonight's episode reminded me of the Season 3 episode of Angel wherein Fred's parents return to claim her. Fred comes into her own in the episode and finds the strength to claim her portion of the champion's mantle. She effectively "owns" her marginalization by realizing that her past history of being trapped in a demonic dimension has given rise to talents and strengths she never knew she possessed. Like Spike she does not run from her past- she turns a vista of victimhood into a testament of strength.(course she does not have a century of depredation and bloodletting behind her ) Still Spike has abandoned his history of running. Initially he ran from his messy humanity when he accepted Drusilla's vampiric embrace. As a vampire he ran from the strictures of the standard vampiric identity. Finally he is gleefully crafting a new identity that revels in vampiric strength and the dynamism of a moral code that requires wily honesty and sacrifice in varying doses. Angel is still trapped in his characteristic defensive identity. He seeks to justify his suffering and the suffering he caused others by putting his unlife in the service of pursuing the prophecy. He has told Spike that none of it really matters b/c they are doomed but he hungers to have that disproved. Spike could just have easily have told him jauntily "Keep the faith -baby."

E..L (Is that EVIL?) Whp's that ? What else did I miss in the goddess-damned back story. Sigh. And I've been doing so well with their MOWs. Hey --- if Lindsey can get a hand transplant, can I have the upgrade that Gunn had? You know, so that I can zswoomm the backstory in one glom?
