Welcome to the Soulful Spike Society Posting Board. Bring your chatter about Buffy, Spike, Angel and their friends and foes here - discuss, debate, agree, disagree, but keep it friendly. Remember to visit our website at www.soulfulspike.com for fanfiction, poetry, pictures of note, member profiles, articles and more. Check out this week's picture of the week contest, Nerd Alert, and By the Numbers...now go forth and multiply those posts! To expedite the chat, I'm beginning a new Part with the opening of the previous one. If Patti wishes a different one, she can take care of it later. Let the snark begin! Board Disclaimer(s):
All arriving spoils should be taken to the Angel Spoilers board so that all the spoiler whores have something to devour and can commence in mocking us with their superior episode knowledge while us spoiler phobics live in happy ignorance. Thanks!
This is a wide-open board comprised of intelligent adults. Sometimes things get a little rowdy, and that's usually fun. However, let's keep the level of discourse, in terms of any hot-button topics or crude language, to what would be appropriate to a group of friendly acquaintances of various genders traveling together on a cross-country bus with the intention of enjoying the ride and each others' company.

okay...okay.... I'm not gonna touch that line. Oh, John? Dave? What were you guys saying about "Interchangeable parts"? Oh man. I missed something from Les Boys didn't I. Maybe I should start reading from the beginning of the part... Nah, not enough time for that. I have to watch the last half hour of last night's Angel repeat to queue my Angel tape for tonight's season five ep.

Since I can never remember things when it really matters: Could someone in authority add a note to the General Board Help about who to contact next time the Un-named Evil One strikes our thread? A list of appropriate Technopagans would be great. Thanks from Anne the fuzzy-brained wonder

A list of appropriate Technopagans would be great. Thanks from Anne the fuzzy-brained wonder Let me tag onto this. Could we put, somewhere on the front of the Main board (and stickied to STAY there), a notice of where to FIND the General Board Help and FAQ? If people come into Main first (as I do, for instance), they won't see the FAQ. I realize since it has multiple parts, it should be on its own thread and therefore at the "top" of the board. But once one reaches the Main board, nobody knows where/how to find the FAQ unless they know about the Forum Jump box..... A notice on the Main board, locked against comments, might be very helpful.

Hey all, sorry to rain on the Angelday parade, but it's my turn to ask for your good wishes. I just found out my father's in hospital. Again. Has, in fact, been in hospital since May (we're not close). He's in serious but stable condition. He's had a couple of serious strokes and a seizure that's left him paralyzed. I'm gonna try and get down to see him this weekend. He's been in the hospital twice before over the past few years, once w/a mild stroke, once w/congestive heart failure. As awful as it sounds, part of me wishes he'd just die and get it over with. I haven't seen him in a couple of years, haven't even spoken with him. I guess he's doing ok, considering, but I just don't know how to feel.

And I'm not surprised that you're feeling conflicted, either. If one of my parents was that ill, some part of me would want them out of their misery, and I'm close to both of them.

I just looked up "snarky", and according to the online version of The American Heritage Dictionary:
snarky
SYLLABICATION: snark·y
ADJECTIVE: Inflected forms: snark·i·er, snark·i·est Slang Irritable or short-tempered; irascible. ETYMOLOGY: From dialectal snark, to nag, from snark, snork, to snore, snort, from Dutch and Low German snorken, of imitative origin. OTHER FORMS: snark
Interesting. As you can tell, I'm currently in chore avoidance.
