The steroidal blocks they've done directly over the nerve helped, but not for very long. The block that made my back muscles spasm was in my back where the nerve branches. I guess that one helped, but the pain it caused in my back was worse than the abdominal pain. Many years ago I tried the steroidal block and found it just this side of useless. The only thing I find that helps when I spasm is massage therapy. I'm talking deep tissue, where the therapist digs in and forces the muscle to let go. When that muscle finally lets go, the relief is amazing. A good therapist will start gently and work in slowly, allowing you to relax into the treatment and not hurt you. Oh my.
Yesterday I found out that something I'd accidently printed (my novel) to this work printer that i'd thought never printed it was in the possession of one of the department heads and she was upset at someone wasting paper and kept bringing it up in staff meetings to smoke out the culprit. Not only had I used work resources for a personal item, but the novel contains some rather twisted events and not entirely normal sex scenes that I would prefer not having my co-workers read.
so i confessed and apologized and found out that this woman hadn't read it at all, which was the biggest relief of all; although I had to promise her a signed copy if I ever get it published.
must be that catholic guilt thing again.

Ooh, scary. It must have been unnerving for you, thinking she'd invaded your privacy by reading your unpublished novel. Guess you were lucky both ways; she didn't read it and you didn't get in more trouble for using company paper. I go through at least one ream of my own paper a month, printing out fanfic. deborah

Haven't been here all day. Just flying by to say hi/bye.
There's only 2 pictures in the poll. If nobody else posts, I'm putting JM's abs up again!

My doctor was amazed at how much anathesia it took to put me under.

Boy, do I know about the c-guilt thing. Glad you got your copy back without much of hassle, Erin - and she wants a copy of it besides! She sounds like a pretty good egg. Nicki - I'm sorry to hear that your pain isn't any better. I have heard that organic coconut oil is good for nerve damage because it nourishes the sheath that surrounds and protects the nerve (it's mostly fat). Here's a good website if you want to read about it. Their's is a little pricey. I get Omega brand. www.tropicaltraditions.com/virgin_coconut_oil.htmmakd - I read about your scare with your daughter. I don't have daughters, but with all the news about kidnappings, etc., I bet you were a wreck. Glad everything is ok. {{{makd}}} My mom fell again and is going to the nursing home for rehabilitation therapy. S'cubie prayers would be appreciated. I know they've got good mojo. By the way, this week, so far, all pictures are of JM. Well, That's not a competition, is it? Come on, I'm sure there's an Angel pic? a Buffy pic? Choosing among JM pics isn't a choice --- it's a given, right?

Thanks for the notation on this, Nicki. Here's the quote from the UPN Buffy website, Episode Smashed:
"Down in Spike's crypt, the bleached bloodsucker prepares to stick it to the Slayer by pulling out several goodies, including a stun gun, a rope, chains, padlocks and handcuffs. Then, he puts on a Roxy Music record, lights some candles, sets up flowers and then puts rose petals on the bed. When he is content with his preparation, he bolts from the crypt in search of Buffy. "
And, son of a gun, how THAT scene changes everything: First he'll love her, then he'll kill her? or, first he'll kill her, then he'll love her? or, just a little B&D ?
hoo-hah. How the story changes....
and, damn FX! just, damn them!

I just want to take a minute and thank and hug {{}} everyone who sent me caring notes and support today, in reference to the daughter's late arrival and lost time.
You are so wonderful, and so supportive. I am so glad that I decided last summer to make S3 my online community. You are so the best, so the bomb. I am so glad, too, that I say a little prayer, usually daily, for all the scubies and their families and friends.
Small moment of thanks and of the good.
"And, we're done."

Remember how much I said my job blows? Well, it still does but on a more positive note: guess who got into a yelling match with her dumbass co-worker? That's right, ME!! HA HA HA!! It felt great too. I had gone into his office to ask him a question about an expert report and he bit my head off! He started saying all this crap about me bothering him and he was too busy right now, blah blah blah. Asshole was playing solitaire on his computer. Busy my ass. Anyway, that was it for me - I blew up! I let him have it - I'm so tired of his bullshit. He screws up and I have to clean it up. I'm so freakin' tired of it. Punk is lucky I didn't have something heavier than the expert's report in my hand because believe you me, it would have been thrown at him. Doesn't say too much about me I know. I told him I was tired of him screwing up and not doing anything about it, never stepping up and helping to fix a mess HE got us into, always taking credit when he didn't do the work, playing solitaire on his computer while I'm busy fixing his fuck-up. It quickly escalated into a shouting match which the whole office heard. I've put up with his crap for too long and today was the straw that broke the camel's back. It seems every time I come here I'm bitching about my job. I know it drives everyone crazy so I'll try really, really hard to stop. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest.
