Very true. Just think about how WE psychoanalyze and deconstruct, etc. all the episodes of BtVS and AtS! Yes, but we psychoanalyze and deconstruct the CHARACTERS not the WRITERS... ...or the ACTORS.

Good night my fellow S'cubies! I hope everyone has a wonderful evening. Have fun but be safe. I hate that I haven't been able to post as much lately. Hopefully, work will calm down soon and I'll be back with my silly randomness. I know y'all are just trembling with anticipation! Have a GREAT night!! {{S'CUBIES}}

Yes, but we psychoanalyze and deconstruct the CHARACTERS not the WRITERS... ...or the ACTORS. Well, we occassionally deconstruct the writers, especially Joss Whedon and Marti Noxon, ie, Joss Whedon's father issues or Marti Noxon's view of young sexuality as be affected by her own experience (but she did kind of indicate that by some of her interview comments). So if I ever really do get this published, a few people might wonder about me, but I suppose any writer has to deal with that.

I have that problem with dental work. I can't take the epinephrine that normally goes into local anesthesia, and I metabolize the stuff so quickly they ususally have to stop in the middle of the procedure and shoot me up again. What can I say? Are S'cubies tougher than the average? We are definitely above average.

I just sent this request to the webmaster at buffy.nu:
__________________________ An Australian fan has told me that there was a scene in the BtVS episode "Smashed," as broadcast in Australia, accurately described by this UPN Buffy website description:
"Down in Spike's crypt, the bleached bloodsucker prepares to stick it to the Slayer by pulling out several goodies, including a stun gun, a rope, chains, padlocks and handcuffs. Then, he puts on a Roxy Music record, lights some candles, sets up flowers and then puts rose petals on the bed. When he is content with his preparation, he bolts from the crypt in search of Buffy."[/b]
This scene never aired on American TV and is not included (apparently) on the soon-to-come Season 6 DVD either. Is it possible one of your contacts might have taped the scene as broadcast in Australia (and elsewhere abroad, for all I know)? And if so, might it be possible to render that brief scene in a way that it could be downloaded, in the manner that the extended Buffy/Spike grapple (also from "Smashed") was made available online at your site?
I and my friends are extremely curious about this unseen scene (my Australian contact unfortunately did not tape it but confirms she saw it) and would appreciate any help you might be able to provide.
FYI, I have been providing the reviews of current Angel episodes for the Soulful Spike Society, which you've been carrying. This certainly doesn't entitle me to a favor, but I hope it entitles me to request something which, if possible, many fans would be grateful for.
Thanks for your attention. ________________________________
We'll see if this gets us anywhere.

Yes, but we psychoanalyze and deconstruct the CHARACTERS not the WRITERS... ...or the ACTORS. Ah, but YOU (collectively) are sensible and tactful. Many readers aren't.

Stun gun, rope, chains, padlock and hand-cuffs? Had he learned nothing from "Crush"? Apparently, to add flowers and rose petals. Listening to Blondie, "dreaming" - apparently, Spike was dreaming, too.

I'm in the catching up process so forgive me as I post while I read... Deborah said: Joss explained this visible breath anomaly once. He said he just can't find actors good enough to not breath in the cold weather. I guess you just can't find any real vampires who are interested in going into showbiz

Since, contrary to my initial impression, that scene did actually exist at one time, I wonder if it might be available through buffy.nu? I'll try to find a way to ask them. ooh, Nan. Great idea! here's wishing you luck on this.

Apparently, to add champagne and rose petals. Listening to Blondie, "dreaming" - apparently, Spike was dreaming, too. Oh course! What was I thinking? 'Cause after being stunned and chained the music, champagne and rose petals would utterly disarm her and she'd be all Buffy-bot-like surrender to his sinister charms. Made me laugh, MaryKd

I guess if we can suspend disbelief enough to watch a TV show about vampires, we can surely overlook the breath in the cold air. The out-of-breath-panting is not so easily dismissed. That's deliberate rather than unavoidable.
