I would prefer the staying asleep thing to work better myself.
Those are damned amusing doggies, there, Miss Monnie.
Julia, possibly babbling or maybe goonish

Quiet here... Busy busy Monday? Mine has been. I am instructing Anna in the dark art of making salsa verde for the freezer: tomatillos and peppers from the family garden, onions and garlic from the Farmers Market. Julia, and trying to get my brain focussed and moving in any direction atall, so as to be awake until I can go to bed tonight.

Julia, and trying to get my brain focussed and moving in any direction atall, so as to be awake until I can go to bed tonight. Since lunch I have: Resanded the tray and repainted the inside. Put away three wash-days'-worth of laundry (mine and Paul's). Washed and put away all the storage baskets I emptied out while I was sorting things in the lumber room. And worked my way through the ejuror website to file an excuse, because they want me for jury duty in Santa freakin' Ana in December, and that's just not possible. For starters, I'm still major caregiver for a minor child, and said minor child has no way to get home from school in an emergency unless I'm in town, and that's just the beginning of the worries. Also, I own no juror-suitable clothes, unless they let you wear respectable jeans, and I seriously can't afford to buy something like that on spec. So, if there are any spare good vibes around, I could sure use them. I'm supposed to check back in ten days or so. Thing is, I could've served on a jury before I had kids, but I never even got a questionnaire until after I quit work to raise Emily. Now I get them every year, and I can't do it. Give me a couple more years...

Repeating from end of last part: Remember, Michael Muhney? The sheriff on Veronica Mars? He is now a regular on The Young and The Restless! Also, happened to see him recently on an old JAG episode and was certain that he was John Barrowman (both 10 years ago, obviously.) Honestly, twins, right?

Sue: Oh, a Florida election reference! Knowing you are a Colbert fan, I figured it must have something to do with Colbert . . . but that didn't make a lot of sense, because I didn't think he lived in Florida, but then who knows, maybe he does . . . etc. Yes, Colbert entered his dog the same week I entered Nanucci. I guess he mentioned it on air or on his website or something, because tons of people went to vote for the little thing, and the Colbert dog won that week. ETA: Huh! I googled this and found that it wasn't Colbert's dog . . . but a dog named "Colbert El Dos" by it's Colbert-fan owners, who then posted on some Colbert website or something . . .and Colbert promised to have the dog on the show if it made the top 12. Story here.

Well, the application is off to Paris...and I had to send it Global Express. Ouch. Please keep fingers crossed.
Anne: So sorry about your dad. Hope it's nothing serious.
Spring: Nanucci was robbed. ROBBED!
