I feel your pain. I too have to watch Angel on the NewRO. (You get the NewVR instead right?) and Angel is on the following Tuesday after Buffy. But hey, we shouldn't complain, for most of the season, we were watching Angel the day BEFORE our American compatriots. Luckily a friend with digital cable taped it for me last week. Hope you catch up soon, Micha the Watergal

Ditto for me, too. You've reconfirmed everything I thought after reading the SSS posts in the first place. This is a real discussion group; willing to consider and debate differing opinions, ecletic, altogether interesting and fun. I've missed being part of a group like this for a while, and I'm glad I found you all. You have certainly made me feel welcome from the beginning. Thank you!

Yeah, Spike and Buffy are out of the corner and I'm not yet sure exactly what flavor of wackiness is about to ensue (I think it ultimate results in a Spike haircut cum peroxide), but I've moved past the stalled place and perhaps can get moving again now. Not much farther to go--3-4 parts more, I think. Bow to the left, bow to the right.

Patti said, "but one of my guilty pleasures is 'Johnny Neumonic' - I really like that dark little comic book movie and own it. " I liked that movie too. I went to see it because of Keanu Reeves but I liked it for itself very quickly. I have a poster from that movie in my office. The movie theater was passing them out when I went to the show. It's not giant, though, about 10"x15" - but good enough! Keanu Reeves in a suit and tie - kinda unusual.

Thanks for the welcome, Betsy, but I'm actually not a newbie here. I'm something of an oldbie, actually. :-) Anyway, in my previous post I was referring to another board that Vlad wanted S'cubies to make an appearance on to welcome more nice, intelligent people. People like you, Betsy. I was remiss in not properly welcoming you before now, 'cause I've been a little quiet lately. Sorry about that.

De lurking for a moment to say yay! I was so happy to read that Scoop me article... And I wanted to post here right away, but I've got this thing about at least skimming most of the posts before posting, so here I am at work at 7:20... posting... finally. I'm so happy though! My spike will go on. I'm not sure if I skipped over this while skimming, and somebody brought it up already, but I think it's funny that Spike is replacing Cordelia, AGAIN. Because Cordy left after season three of Buffy, and Spike came on, and I think at some point Joss said that he pictured Spike as kind of taking over Cordelia's role as the truthteller of the group.

//What Watergal said. Ditto. That's called "the high road."// I think we especially ought to be kind to certain people's condescension on other boards, because, after all, wasn't it in response to those comments (especially one person's in particular) that got this group started? Now that's revenge for you.

//Ungracious sort, isn't he? I considered writing a comment about his rudeness, but felt it would be a wasted effort. And Vlad's invite was so friendly. The response was uncalled-for. I don't mind people disagreeing with me, but would not wish him to come over if he's going to bring that attitude.// Diane, I repeat my statement I made previously to Patti -- if that's going to be his attitude, then it's really no loss that he won't be joining us. Like you, I don't mind being disagreed with. Heck, I'm a B/A shipper hanging out on a predominantly pro-Spuffy board, so what does that tell you. And there have been times I've been in some interesting debates with oh HIM as you referred to the individual in your header (not to be confused with O. Henry or even Oh Henry!); he often has some interesting insights into things, as do pretty much anyone I've interacted with on the ScoopMe board. But if the attitude can't be checked at the door, then the input isn't all that interesting. I think it was Spring that remarked something to the effect that opinions can be challenged and debated, provided the people with those opinions aren't attacked in the process, and the line is quite clear when it's been crossed. I agree with that. I for one am quite sorry I never took the time to wander in here prior to when I did, because you folks foster exactly the sort of environment that these boards should offer. Yes, we do a little good natured ribbing, and no we don't always agree, but never have I felt disrespected here. And that, my fellow S'cubies, is how it should be. Oh HIM's remarks toward Patti, Vlad and others about our invitation to join were just plain disrespectful; to be honest, if he didn't want to join us, he didn't have to, but the production about it was completely unnecessary. As for any comments about his actions that would be posted on one of the more public boards that he would be apt to read, frankly I think that sort of action would just throw gasoline on the fire. We're bigger than that, and we shall rise above it -- and methinks that by ignoring this fire, it shall just peter itself out.

The movie is a patchwork from a few of his books centered around the cyberpunk world he created. WG is a god!! [as opposed to JossWhedon *being* God] The title and main character come from a little short story in a book of shorts by WG called "Burning Chrome" [excellent] and the rest of the movie's flavour and atmosphere comes from "Neuromancer" [most excellent]. both most definately worth the read. //It's truly exciting. Oh - something I don't think anyone has commented on. The article quoted (I believe you quoted it David) mentioned that Tim Minear would be one of the top guys in charge this coming season, which was great news, and a surprise to me because I'd read he had made a commitment to another show for next season, and I'd read David Greenwalt was coming back, but that wasn't mentioned. Anyone have any scoop on that? // I didn't quote the article Patti. Not that it matters much to me, other than I hate to steal anyone's thunder, great or small. Interesting article. My understanding was that Tim Minear did return to pen the final episode this season after Firefly got canned (he had been moved over to run that show for Joss), but I have read that he does not intend to be back next season; I didn't read a reason given, but it could easily be as you've said, he's been offered a different project with a more impressive job title to go with it. David Greenwalt did not return any this season after Miracles was canned, but is intending to return next season. Or so I've read elsewhere. It almost sounds as if someone somewhere has Time and David confused. Funny, they don't look a thing alike.

//That is actually one of the biggest finale questions still in my mind: IF they both live how/why will they be kept apart?// I'm sort of hoping that if that is Angel we saw in the previews (and I believe it is), then it will give Buffy the chance to decide once and for all that she doesn't want to be with either of them, for whatever reason (grown past Angel, isn't in love with Spike, for example). I do agree that if Buffy and Spike both survive the finale, and obviously Angel will survive since his show's been renewed, fans need some sense of closure. And especially if Spike is to be on AtS, we need to feel there's a reason why he's suddenly hanging out with Angel and his crew in Los Angeles rather than continuing to be with Buffy if Buffy indeed survives it all.
