I was really going to lurk over there. I figured Spring, Nan, Rusty, Vlad, Watergal--with apologies to those I've forgotten to include-were among the originals in the group, with myself and a few others coming later. Then someone posted something that annoyed me. Considering it's content, I decided I was uniquely qualified to respond to that comment. I'm pretty sure that I am the original non Spike-Centric S'cubie. Therefore I figured it was my job to step up and say something. Having said that, I think we're the only ones who have read it....but it made me feel better.

//However, I do understand why Lee was suggesting more than one reviewer. It can be a tough commitment to keep up with every week. // I got the impression that Lee was suggesting multiple reviewers posting reviews every week, say two or three reviews for the same episode. That would offer multiple points of view, and could be really interesting in instances where reviewer A loved the ep and reviewer B thought it was the worst drivel he'd ever sat through in his life. Of course, multiple reviewers would also allow for, in the instance one reviewer couldn't post a particular week (cable went out, for example), there would already be a couple of reviews and the missing post wouldn't be so glaringly obvious. Then again, the timeliness of the reviews would be nice, but are we planning to use them as discussion springboards like ScoopMe did? I like reading the reviews, but always hated having to wait for them to post before discussing the episode. If they aren't going to be a springboard for discussion, then it's not so imparative that they be posted immediately, although they should still be posted ASAP. And for the record, I almost always have extensive comments to post regarding every Buffy or Angel episode, so I don't foresee changing the format from random thoughts to more of a review style to be all that hard for me. Count me in as a potential reviewer.

//Otherwise, you might sign up to guest review say . . . ep 7, then find you hate ep 7 and wish you had signed up for ep 6 . . . you get my drift.// Excellent point Spring. Love an episode or hate an episode, it always makes for good review material (provided that either way, the reviewer can verbalize what was awesome or what was pond scum). More frightening for me is the episode that just completely does not move me at all. That infamous "transitional" episode, and Angel's past format had plenty of those. What do you say about an episode that's just ... blah?

Rob - yes, I am sure you were our first non-Spike-is-#1 S'cubie. You posted something with a subject like "Rob invades the S3 board" that made me wonder what we were in for. I think you were the first male poster as well. Yes, you were a brave lad, but we are glad you blazed the way. Also, excellent job on your post!

//How important is it to have seen the Angel Finale *before* the next Buffy?!? does anyone have an opinion?!? if so, I may read an review or two, so that the next Buffy makes more sense.// Shannon -- the only thing that happened on Angel that might affect the Buffy finale is that Lilah Morgan gave Angel a file on Sunnydale and an amulet; none of which was really discussed on AtS. If that was Angel we saw in the Buffy promo, the amulet may prove significant; if not, Angel may wear it to a party one day. But as it stands, that's all that really was Buffy-related on the AtS finale.

Click the yellow "home" button above, then choose the "Angel returns" article on the home page (top right). Then go to the end of the article and pick the "Discuss this article" link. There are the postings, including Rob's.

Anne said, "- there is another show on Wednesdays at 9PM, which we were watching first, " I never watch West Wing, but I was religiously watching JAG on Tuesday nights 8 PM CBS for years. But I met a guest-starring actor on "Andromeda," followed him to "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and now JAG will have to be seen in reruns. Oh well, Harm and Mac didn't get together this season anyway, so I dodged a bullet. Those two have pussyfooted around for three seasons, sparring and giving off sparks and I would have been p*ssed to have missed them getting together.

//I'm going to miss Cordy on a regular basis if the rumors of her departure are true, but the addition of James Marsters is clearly a huge coup. // I would completely agree with you, Rob, except that the Cordy I miss left the show about a season and a half ago, and has not been seen since.

//I hope you have a direct line to Mr. Whedon, coz I'd love to see all that come about!!// Shannon, I think we all do -- there have been plenty of times someone said something on here (ScoopMe, not necessarily specifically the S'cubies) that a few months later wound up on one of the shows. For example, "St. Cordelia" was being used on ScoopMe long before one of the characters said it on Angel. I would not be surprised if at least one member of the ME writing staff lurks these boards, looking for ideas or at least feedback on how certain things are going over with the fanbase.

David says: "I'm sort of hoping that if that is Angel we saw in the previews (and I believe it is), then it will give Buffy the chance to decide once and for all that she doesn't want to be with either of them, for whatever reason (grown past Angel, isn't in love with Spike, for example). " Or for another example, she's grown past Angel so she doesn't really love him anymore, plus, she wants sex. And she's madly in love with Spike, but has the maturity to realize that it can never work between a vampire and a Slayer. Actually though - if I had to predict, I am going to guess that she tells Angel she will always love him in that he will always be her special "first love", that she will tell Spike how much she loves him, but that then she will choose something (I don't know what)that is more about her becoming whatever it is she is suppose to become, that is totally independent of association with romance. That's what would ring true to the set up we've gotten from day 1: Buffy needed to fully understand and love her "Angel" and her "Spike" (her two sides) and become a fully integrated person . . . and once she does so, she will be complete unto herself. Fits the whole girl power thing, etc. As much as I love Spike and want to see him happy and think he & Buffy love each other and sizzle together like no one else - I would still feel like the show's setup was betrayed if she "choses" Spike.

// From Rob's post over THERE: The last thing we are is snobbish. We even have a Kennedy fan. No, really. I'm serious. If we can handle that, we can deal with anything. :-) // Heck Rob, if you guys can put up with ME (as in me, myself and I, not Mutant Enemy), you can pretty much tolerate anything. Just a second -- Sh*thead is scratching at the door to be let in .....

That's ok, Rob. Imagine how silly I felt when I found out you were a founding member of this board! As you can tell I've only been posting for a few days, but it's been a real blast so far. So thank you for the welcome. I read your message on the other board, too. It was a very respectful invitation. Don't see why they wouldn't come...unless they're afraid of change, or of the multitude of Spike adorers. Hey, they can come over and we can compare and contrast. No big whoop. We'll pick a topic and discuss. Let's see...Spike vs. Angel. Sexy stud vs. broody vamp. Who's hotter? See? Easy as pie!!
