"Not the end of the world" Beep, beep, beep... (Someone's been watching "Life on Mars" Hume is his last name. I forgot that. When is Kant gonna show up? Heeee! Now, if Nietzsche shows up, it's time to run. That, my friend, is the question of the hour. I'm currently voting for it being mostly how things went, only now he's noticing all the things that later will be reflected on the island. Well, things are as they were up until his freak out, I'd guess. I think the sign said Charlie Hieronymous Pace. Which is a horrible thing to do to your child.

His life really is flashing before his eyes. Does that mean he's close to death, or that he's on the verge of getting to have a do-over?

"Pretty sure I've done it before" "Make your own kind of music" again. he's thinking he can fix things. So he gets walloped by an errant cricket bat. Is Douglas Adam's ghost collaborating in the writing? And we wake up, nekkid in the palm fronds. Well, think of it in the good way, Des: you didn't have to live through it all sequentially, again. his picture!!!! (I'm such a sap) Oh, poor Desmond. I SO like that actor. No more crazy than the rest of you, Hugo, in dealing with amazing crap. "Listen, I'm sorry I tried to strangle you, allright?" "Fair play, mate" *anticipates Lola's squee of incipient Charlie/Desmond manlove* He's coming flat-out clean about his time-displacement. "I was saving you" oh, my, this is chilling. By Desmond's figuring, Charlie's number is completely up: somehow or another he's gonna buy it. Well, EVERYONE does, Desmond. But I guess you mean it's gonna be sooner rather than later. Jane Curtain?! Or am I on crack?

His buddy talked about rerunning an experiment 10 times and getting 10 different results. So that's why the evening in the pub was different. Because now that he is aware of things, they're different. Observing something changes it, like quantum mechanics, maybe? Des and Penelope are breaking my heart here! "Your father was lovely. Just agreed I wasn't . . . exactly qualified." "The occaision is, I love you." "Why?" "Because you're a good man." And then, "Des, where are you?" "I'm right here." **sniffle** Holy crap! The shop lady thing is seriously creepy. This is wrong. You don't buy the ring. You walk right out the door. . . .. If ou don't do these things, then every single one of us is dead. So give me the sodding ring. Damn! That's harsh.

Momma Cass! I've got goosebumps. I can buy the time warpy thing. It's what we saw in the first episodes with the radio transmission. Hearing Make Your Own Kind of Music was very very eerie, wasn't it?

Dammit. I was off on a wrong track. much akin to Donnie Darko, then.. 'cept he's not on a pinched-off loop... "Make your own kind of music" has a special meaning for him... (that WAS what was on the juke, no?) Divergent outcomes.. Butterfly effect? Or hallucination? Dammit. Keeping me all uncertain. Dammit, why isn't Abrams doing the American "Life on Mars" series? HE could keep the ambiguity! Nice shading of the truth there, Des. "Your father was lovely" Yes it is something to celebrate. When someone who is that much a bastard DOESN'T take a shine to you, it's a good thing. See? Pen thinks so, too. Please let her not be a sarcastic wench. Oh, that's pretty!!! What is it? "You don't buy the ring, Desmond" so he's pretty much in his head. So this is why he was running around screaming in delight afterwards. "Desmond David Hume" So he needs to frack his life up so he's in a position to turn the failsafe key and wind up in his own head, where he winds up following the same path that leads him to the island, where he turns the key, winds up in his own head, and follows the same course of actions that lead him back to the island.... AAAAAA!! **nods numbly** AAAAAAAAARG!

"Just thought it was a bold fashion choice worth noting." ;D You're my subconscious. Oy! It is madness, dude. And fashion choice dude bites it. Thus showing she is all-knowing future woman. Twisty. Very twisty. The universe doing a "course correction", eh? So everything is all fated and stuff? Damn those prophesies!! **shakes tiny fist, realises this is not the Jossverse** Ahem. Sorry. ;D And she uses daddy's word to taunt him. The only truly great thing you'll ever do. So now he keeps seeing examples of the universe pushing him toward what he is "supposed" to do. The elistement poster talking becoming a man you can be proud of. The picture that is the one he looked at on the island. Her saying he can't "re-write history". OK, it always bugs me when I see people toss jewelry. I really wanted to slap the old lady in Titanic, for example. ;D
