So, unstuck in time, or living his life for the second time? And, I'm sorry, but "It's about to start raining" isn't such a stunning prediction of the future in England. That's true. Also made me think of Locke doing the same thing in the first season.

Wow, this was a great episode. I'm still confused, but I really liked it.

Finally watched this episode last night. Non-impressed.
Paul may give up on the show. I think the "everything is already preordained and there's nothing you can do about it" message annoyed him; he says "If it's already set in stone, why bother watching?"
I want to know why the Island gave Desmond random precognition attacks if there's nothing he can do to change what he sees. Cassandra, much?
Paul's response was that when Desmond finally gives up on saving Charlie, at least Charlie will know as he dies, that his life was worth trying to save. Which isn't much of an excuse, in my opinion.
I'll give the show another week or two, but I am getting more and more annoyed with the writers. Plan? What plan?
P.S. Did the jewelry store woman remind anyone else of a Judi Dench wannabe, or was that just me?

We only know that Desmond and the White Haired Lady think so. I have heard a lot of people say that White Haired Lady reminds them of Judy Dench. Fionnula Flanagan has been in a ton of stuff, significantly for me The Divine Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood, The Others, and Waking Ned Divine.

I was going through the old threads and remembered that Charlie actually did almost die in the first season, in All the Best Cowboys Have Daddy Issues. For whatever it's worth.

But wasn't WHL his subconscious, trying to rewrite history? At least, that was my interpretation of the flashback scenes; they were Desmond's remembering, not what actually happened. Anne, hitting all the wrong keys repeatedly I can't decide if it was all in his subconscious/memory or if it was him slipping back in time into his old body, but with memories of the "future" making him notice all sorts of things. Which makes me wonder about how he's seeing the future on the island. Is he getting visions, or is he slipping forward in time and then coming back?

Just saw an article here claiming that Lost is showing a significant decrease in viewership this last ep. This is bad news, except, maybe this will spur the powers that be into getting the thing back on track - i.e., concentrating on our original Losties and the more basic mysteries. . . dunno. I wish it would.
What I don't understand is why there was a 2-month hiatus; in which time many viewers gave up or found themselves seriously lost with the new eps and then stopped. It would have been far better for the show to start in January and then go bam-bam-bam start to finish, no interruptions, like 24 does. Instead, most of the fall was wasted in Juliet and Benry's power games, when I think many viewers wanted more answers about the Others than further questions.
Heroes, a breakout hit, only had about a month missing between 2006-2007.
And when did major primetime TV shows start taking three or more weeks off during the winter anyway? Wouldn't two weeks, i.e. December 15-January 1 be enough? I don't seem to remember so many gaps in the schedules when I was a kid.
Has Locke had anything to do this season? I honestly can't remember whether that flashback with the marijuana commune was in the Fall or last Spring.
The strongest episodes of the Fall, for me, were the Sun/Jin/Sayid attempted raid on the Others (unless that was last year and I've mixed it up), and the Kate/Sawyer kissage/making love. Everything else was less interesting; except for the opening scene with the Others' funky suburban book club session.
And no CFL action either...
Desmond is cute; but I want to know more about the actual history and current events of the Island. And I think it would be a mistake for them to kill off Charlie; he is only one of two characters who neither pretty/handsome and rather ordinary-but-appealing (Charlie and Hurley).
GAIL, somewhat bummed.

GAIL, somewhat bummed. I read somewhere that they wanted to, but the network wouldn't let them. They wanted one of their biggest shows to contribute to november sweeps, etc. So they tried to come up with a schedule that would please everybody. I agree that it would have been better to have the whole season continuous, but to me this is the next best thing.
