She's the ghost of Christmas Past? In her off time? Clever little bit, wasn't it? Very good point. Maybe it's only determined to some extent and she got nervous when he looked like he was changing things too much? Yep. Always fun to see the actual buttons being installed so that we can have fun pushing them later. My brain is spinning.

Well. That was depressing. Yup. I never like the whole "no choice" thing.

This episode was much much more of what I expect from lost! It was a little weird but intriguing. Did anyone notice Daddy had a picture of the polar bear in his office.
Oh and Charlies sign reads Musical Stylings of Charlie Hieronymus Pace. Heironymus being his middle name.
I loved the fact that he has been saving charlie. So are they basically telling us the next person to die? I believe they are, and I still can see myself being shocked by Charlies death.
I rate this as by far the best ep of the season so far (although the standard has not been very high so far.0
I did read a article in Entertainment weekly about lost. It was a good article. Basically they said bout 1/2 through this season they will have something happen that will either make people walk away forever, or will make people stay with them until the end of the show. So apparently something really big is in the works.

Celebrating making the biggest mistake of my life - again. Bleargh! Ouch! Smacked back to the future. Ow, ow, ow! "Please let me go back" - so, sort of a "It's a Wonderful Life" moment, then? "You don't want to know. You can't change it." Bonding with Charlie. "You're a good man, Charlie." Why do I have a sinking feeling about this . . . Life flashed before his eyes and then didn't stop. So, that's how he's seeing the future. It's his life flashing before his eyes, just the bits that haven't happened yet. Very cool explanation! He was saving Charlie? Whoa!! Damn. That is a very unexpected direction. Charlie is doomed to die and Desmond keeps . . . postponing it?! Huh. I wonder if they will really go thru with it. I mean, actually kill Charlie off.

That explains the nekkidness. I think. Not that I'm complaining, mind. . .. It's a sacrifice. But I'm forcing myself to put up with the nekkidness. Not for me, of course. But for everyone else. I'm a giver.

"Pretty sure I've done it before" "Make your own kind of music" again. he's thinking he can fix things. So he gets walloped by an errant cricket bat. Is Douglas Adam's ghost collaborating in the writing? ;D Heeee! Ghost writing. I wouldn't be surprised at this point. Ah, I love a nice moment of manly bonding. Several very chilling moment in this ep. Oh, and the bus in the last ep was also rather chilling. What? Where? I think the writers are on crack again. But if it keeps the eps being as wacky and wow as this one, I say pass the pipe guys. ;D

Oh, I l love those kinda OMGWTFPOLARBEAR moments. ;D I'm really wondering if they will play it through to that conclusion. I mean I love the character of Charlie, but it would be stunning to actually do it. Have the character go around, knowing he was gonna die, maybe even have Des keep saving him and then, one day - Bam! **snickers a bit** Definitely a damn good ep and one of the top ones of the season for sure! Well, it's gutsy of them to push it.

Then again he may be getting these visions in order to stop Charlie from dying. The most chilling line to me was when the Older ladie said. "The only truly good thing you do in this life is push that button."

Um. I'm most likely completely off base but, the older woman reminded me of what an older version of Penelope would look and sound like. The Charlie thing at the end freaked me out and shocked me but other than that this ep was kind of meh for me. It could very well be because I'm tired and cranky and have little patience tonight, though. Charlie's never been one of my favorite characters (although I definitely don't dislike him), and I'm sad to say Desmond's never really been a favorite of mine, either. So, I was easily distracted throughout most of the ep. It was soooooo good to see Hurley and other Losties, though. I've missed them.

Oh - I thought the exact same thing about the sales lady- down to the eye color. Very obviously shot that way, for some reason... I'll miss Charlie. I love him and Hurley together, and the funny bits. There is no other funny in this show, and I'll be pissed if they kill him off for good.

Phew! I thought I was alone. It's losing me, this show. It's been a long hiatus, and a 'meh' episode to start off with. But - hey now! Half dressed Desmond is something to get excited about. And Hurley/Charlie goodness. Not to mention Locke and Sayeed. Desmond seemed awfully protective of Claire. Charlie is not going to like this one bit. I haven't been to this thread for awhile and I see I'm wildly out of sync with everyone because I loved the episode last week and thought this one was great also. I liked the hiatus because I'm not a fan of repeats and I am now ready to be invested again. Both Juliet and Desmond interest me alot and I thought this mix of Final Destination/flashback with the kickass ending scene was great. And to be honest, I was one of those who had pretty much given up on Lost.

This episode was (like all classic Lost eps) twisty and somewhat confusing, but I was very pleased they went back to their thematic roots: Fate and destiny vs. free will. Desmond is walking that line every day now on the Island, and it appears the Island (assuming we accept the notion regarding the Island as a sentient presence of some kind) WANTS him living with that ambiguity.
Don't ask me what the point of all that will be, in the end. I believe most of those real-life questions can never be answered completely, so why should I expect the writers to do it for me?
I'll just enjoy the ride and let others suss out the polar bearish details.

"The only truly good thing you do in this life is push that button."I thought she said "Great." Which, if it "saved the world" then yeah, would be hard to top! But there are many other "good" things he could be doing/have done. I think the Pawn Lady is evil, myself. I kept hearing echoes of Jason Priestly's character in TruCalling. Huh...?! "Pawn Lady" Now theres a connection I hadn't made... she is claiming he is a pawn...that we are all pawns? Hmmmm... Vlad
